  • This paper describes a basic programming and interfacing modele which can link DataBase form experiments and dynamic analysis program of chock absorber within the limit of adequate reliability. The system developed can provid a user specific Database of shock absorber within the required damping performance and endurable tolerance, thus show a good application possibilities in commercial vehicle design.

  • Using database obtained by means of experiments, or using the synamic behaviour analysis program of automotive shock absorber, database system is constructed within the limits of adequate reliability. Thus constructed data base can be used to find out corresponding specification of shock absorber design parameters to the required damping ability and tolerance.

  • In process of tube spinning far shock absorber on vehicles, the selection of feed rate and rounding radius of forming roller and revolution speed of tube and forming roller, forming gap between die and forming roller are very important factors to obtain the optimal process result. In this paper, rigid-plastic FEM and UBET analysis are applied to verify effect of each factors by forming load. We can obtain the optimal conditions to prevent defects during processing.

  • A study has been made of the damping force phenomena of the shockabsorber for automobile. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) We can neglect friction loss between cylinder and piston, as it is very small compared to other damping force. 2) Damping force due to coil spring and disc valve shows comparatively stable at various piston speed and oil temperature. 3) Theoretical and experimental values are well agreed on relatively low piston speed. 4) Theoretical value on piston speed of 600mm/sec, 900mm/sec at oil temperature $20^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$ and $80^{\circ}C$ is about 82% of experimental value. 5) Theretical value at oil temperature $-20^{\circ}C$, $0^{\circ}C$ is about 67% of experimental value.

  • A dynamic characteristics of shock absorber in the various excitation is investigated experimentally. Work diagrams and characteristic curves are used as a experimental standard. The various excitation conditions temperature and noise are very important factors in associated with the reduction of damping force. It is found that the heat occurrence from shock absorber, the gas shock absorber is much higher than oil shock absorber and increased in high speed. As to the variation of damping force, there are no change when the speed is low but we fixed amount of variation by increasing speed and change of new and old decrease. The sound pressure of the swash noise from cycle of shock absorber, we compared with theory sound pressure by experiment.

  • Even if the shock absorber is developed to Variable S/A or Active S/A, it is necessary to construct data-base or build the dynamic performance characteristic program of Oil S/A. Since both Variable S/A and Active S/A are based on the principle of Oil S/A. To obtain the design technique of Oil S/A, we model the damping mechanism and characteristics of an Oil S/A whose performance was testified. And then it is analyzed the dynamic behaviour characteristics of damping mechanism.
