Development and Performance of BMS Modules for Urban Electric Car Using Life Prediction Method (수명 예측 기법을 이용한 도시형 전기자동차 BMS 모듈 개발 및 차량 성능에 관한 실험 연구)

  • This study reports on the development and investigation of a BMS module using a new algorithm on the driving performance and battery life of electric vehicles. Here, the initial SOC was calculated using an open circuit voltage (OCV) method and a current integral method was later applied to the BMS module. We verified the performance of the BMS module by comparing both the results of the in-vehicle test and the BMS simulator test. Our verification test showed good agreement between the results of experiments and simulation with a small error of ${\pm}0.8%$. Here, we confirmed that the present, newly-developed BMS module not only can predict the battery life but can also monitor SOC, pack voltage, and current temperature.

  • Knowledge management system (KMS) is an information system that helps an organization manage its knowledge assets effectively as well as maximize their values within the organization. In engineering fields, because the expertise and know-how of experts are so critical, KMS can play an important role to store and share the experts' knowledge within the organization. This paper adopts an object-oriented approach to analyze and design an engineering knowledge management system required to manage and share engineering knowledge effectively. A field study is conducted against construction and automobile engineers to draw critical success factors to successfully implement and adopt an engineering KMS and based on this study, the engineering KMS has been analyzed and designed. Also, this paper proposed a flexible system architecture that can be applied to various engineering fields.

Theoretical approach on the heating and cooling system design for an effective operation of Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles (전기구동 자동차용 리튬이온 배터리의 고효율 운전을 위한 냉방 및 난방 시스템 설계에 대한 이론적 접근법)

  • This study is aiming to suggest the effective thermal management system design technologies for the high voltage and capacity battery system of the electricity driven vehicles and introduce the theoretical designing methods. In order to investigate the effective operation of the battery system for the electricity driven vehicles, the heat generation model for Li-ion battery system using the chemical reaction while charging and discharging was suggested and the thermal loads of the heat sources (air or liquid) for cooling and heating were calculated using energy balance. Especially, the design methods for the cooling and heating of the battery system for maintaining the optimum operation temperature were investigated under heating, cooling and generated heat (during charging and discharging) conditions. The battery thermal management system for the effective battery operation of the electricity driven vehicles was suggested reasonably depending on the variation of the season and operation conditions. In addition, at the same conditions under summer season, the cooling method using the liquid and active cooling technique showed a relatively high capacity, while cooling method using the passive cooling technique showed a relatively low capacity.

  • Currently, the permanent road traffic volume surveys under Road Act are conducted using a intrusive Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC) equipments to classify 12 categories of vehicles. However, intrusive AVC equipment inevitably have friction with vehicles, and physical damage to sensors due to cracks in roads, plastic deformation, and road construction decreases the operation rate. As a result, accuracy and reliability in actual operation are deteriorated, and maintenance costs are also increasing. With the recent development of ITS technology, research to replace the intrusive AVC equipment is being conducted. However multiple equipments or self-built DB operations were required to classify 12 categories of vehicles. Therefore, this study attempted to prepare a method for classifying 12 categories of vehicles using vehicle specification information of the Vehicle Management Information System(VMIS), which is collected and managed in accordance with Motor Vehicle Management Act. In the future, it is expected to be used to upgrade and diversify road traffic statistics using vehicle specifications such as the introduction of a road traffic survey system using Automatic Number Plate Recognition(ANPR) and classification of eco-friendly vehicles.

  • 온실가스배출권거래법이 2015년 1월부터 시행될 예정이다. 온실가스 배출권 거래제는 현재 시행중인 배출가스 목표관리제에서 한발 더 나아가 정부가 그동안 추진해 온 녹색성장 정책에 따른 국가 온실가스 감축 목표 달성을 적극적으로 이루기 위한 제도라 할 수 있다. 또한 배출권 거래제를 다른 개도국보다 빨리 도입함으로써 향후 기후변화협약 논의 과정에서 선진국과 개도국간의 갈등을 조정하는 역할을 수행하면서 국제적 리더십을 확보하고자 하는 정책적 의도도 담겨 있는 것으로 보인다. 여기서는 한국자동차산업연구소 신은주 연구위원의 '배출권 거래제 입법화 의미와 영향'보고서를 통해 배출권 거래제 추진의 의미와 영향, 외국의 배출권 거래제 현황 및 시사점에 대해 살펴본다.

  • Electric cars are expected to increase quality of life by reducing air pollution and to contribute to economic growth by creating new businesses. However, electric car adoption has lagged and has not satisfied public expectation. One of the primary reasons for this outcome is the slow charging speed or inconvenience of charging a battery. Under the insufficient diffusion of electric cars, pushing business entities to construct charging facilities is undesirable for a policy maker to increase the adoption rate because of cost and management issues. This study adopts the design science methodology to interpret the problem of deploying electric car charging stations in the view of information systems. A trip planning algorithm is suggested on the basis of the theory of range anxiety. We investigate issues related to the current charging locations using data from drivers' car navigation devices. We also review its applicability to trip planning to obtain insights.

  • 전기자동차의 축전지 관리 시스템(BMS : Battery Management System)의 잔존용량(SOC : State Of Charge)산정에는 Ah 측정법, 비중측정법, 전압측정법 등이 있다. 기존 전압 측정법의 경우 측정 전압을 프로세서에서 직접 처리하기 때문에 축전지의 미세한 전압 변화를 측정하지 못하여 잔존 용량 산정시 세밀한 계산에 어려움이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 축전지의 전압 측정 시 프로세서 전단에 전압의 부분 증폭회로를 추가하여 축전지의 미세한 전압변화를 증폭하여 측정하는 방법을 제안 하였다. 니켈수소전지를 대상으로 실험한 결과 충전 중 기존 전압측정법은 1.431V, 1.436V, 1.441V가 측정 되었을 때의 잔존 용량은 84%로 일정하였다. 같은 전압변화에서 부분증폭회로를 적용한 충전전압은 1.4297V, 1.4303V ~ 1.4352V, 1.4358V로 측정 되었으며, 그에 따른 잔존용량은 84% ~ 85%로 기존 전압 측정법 보다 약 9 ~ 10배 정도 세밀하게 측정 되었다. 제안한 방법을 통한 실험으로 제안된 방법이 기존 전압 측정법보다 세밀한 전압 측정 및 SOC산정이 가능함을 확인 하였다.

A Dynamic Optimization for Automotive Vehicle Shipment and Delivery (자동차 선적 및 납기를 위한 동적 최적화)

  • The automotive industry has made much efforts to deliver finished vehicles to customers with speed and reliability. Decreasing the time a vehicle stays within an assembly plant from production release to shipment contributes to reduce the total order lead-time and consequently, the total transportation cost as well. Conventional shipment planning algorithms are limited in accommodating the dynamics of assembly plant operations as to finished vehicle shipment. This paper presents a market-based multi-agent shipment planning algorithm to optimize the performance of vehicle shipment process, capturing the operationally disruptive events. Experimental results using simulation show that the algorithm improves vehicle shipment performance with respect to lead time, labor efficiency, finished product quality, and transportation efficiency.

Productivity Evaluation and Factor Analysis in Commercial Road Freight Transport Industry (영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성 평가 및 영향요인 분석)

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate production efficiency of the commercial road freight transportation industry using quarterly actual data by individual truck drivers from January 2005 to September 2009. In addition, this study analyzes various impact factors that influence production efficiency, including regulatory factors (e.g., entrust management system and multi-level transactions). For this purpose, this study uses data envelopment analysis and a truncated Tobit model. As a result, production efficiency of the general freight sector is higher than those of the other two sectors. Also, production efficiency in the steel goods sector ranks the highest; meanwhile, production efficiency in the oil goods sector ranks the lowest. In particular, production efficiency indicators of the commercial road freight transportation industry fluctuate with time by a small margin, and have an upward tendency on the whole. Finally, some policy implications are given to promote production efficiency of the commercial road freight transportation industry.

4차 산업혁명 대비 중소기업 창업 벤처 지원 대상 업종에 관한 연구

  • 최근 인공지능 시대 및 제 4차 산업 혁명 시대의 도래로 제품 간, 제품과 서비스 간, 서비스 간 산업이 다양한 형태로 진화 중이며, 이종기술 산업 간의 융 복합화로 새로운 제3의 신산업이 등장하고 있다. 또한 소위 말하는 O2O(Online to Offline)는 이미 운송, 금융(핀테크), 자동차(카테크), 숙박, 음식, 의료(헬스케어테크) 등 많은 산업 분야에 진출, 기존 전통 산업과 충돌, 인허가에 어려움을 겪고 있으며 이러한 O2O는 IOT(사물인터넷)로 급속도로 가속화 되고 있다. 이렇듯 4차 산업 혁명에 따른 신산업의 탄생은 산업의 경계를 붕괴하고 있음에도 산업별로 구분된 제도, 규제, 지원정책 등은 여전히 신산업 창업의 장애가 되고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 국내 벤처특별법, 창업지원법, 1인 창조기업법 내 투자 지원 업종과 미국을 비롯한 해외 창업 관련법 내 창업 지원 제한 업종과의 비교 분석, 몇 가지 중요한 시사점을 도출했다. 먼저, 우리나라가 선진국에 비해 지나치게 투자 제한 업종이 많음을 확인했다. 또한 선진국은 미풍양속을 해치는 업종, 투기적 사업 등 사회통념상 문제가 되는 사행성 업종을 제외하고는 대다수의 업종이 정책 지원 대상이다. 업종과 더불어 투자 행위로 투자 심사를 해 신산업 투자에 매우 탄력적으로 운영할 수 있게 설계되어 있다. 심지어 미국의 경우, 적극적 창업 투자를 위해 업종 및 투자 행위에 대한 심의를 중소기업청이 직접 수행한다. 특히, 우리나라의 중소기업창업투자회사제도는 미국의 중소기업투자회사(SBIC) 제도와 유사한 반면 투자 제한 업종 뿐 아니라 제도 운영 특히, 창업투자회사에 대한 관리 측면에서 매우 큰 차이가 있음을 보여주고 있다. 우리나라 중기청은 간접관리를 하는 반면, 미국은 중기청 내에서 직접 관리를 하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 창업 벤처 투자 제한을 미국을 비롯한 기타 외국의 사례에서와 같이 사회통념상 불가피한 업종과 더불어 투자 행위로 정의하길 제안한다.
