The Influence of Self-discrepancy in Virtual and Cross Worlds on Individuals' Activities in Online Communities (가상세계 및 공간간의 자기차이가 온라인 커뮤니티 활동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • People could possess different self-identity under virtual world from physical world because of anonymity of the virtual world and this difference could influence their behavior in the virtual world. Based on self-discrepancy theory, this research proposes that continuous use model in self-expression goal. We defined the difference bet ween actual self~identity and ideal self~identity in the virtual world as "self-discrepancy in virtual world", and the difference between actual self-identity in the physical world and actual self-identity in the virtual world as "cross-world self-discrepancy". Before testing hypothesis, we compare the actual self-identity in the online community with the actual self-identity in the physical world, and with ideal self-identity in the virtual world. We derived an index for two different types of self-identity in terms of Personal Self-identity and Social Self-identity through factor analysis. Our results show that online community members have a higher level of ideal self-identity than actual self-identity in online community, and they have better personal self-identity in online community than physical world while a lower level of social self-identity in online community than physical world. The results of the hypothesis testing analysis based on 300 respondents showed that "self-discrepancy in virtual world" negatively influenced perceived usefulness for self-expression while "cross-world self-discrepancy" positively influenced perceived usefulness for self-expression. The perceived usefulness for self-expression and ease of use positively influence both continuous use and knowledge contribution. Specially, the effect of perceived usefulness for self-expression on knowledge contribution is much bigger than the effect of ease of use. This study extends self-discrepancy theory to virtual worlds by suggesting various types of self-discrepancy and by applying the effect of self-discrepancies in online community. Also, this study extends technology acceptance model in the personal goal in terms of self-expression. This study hopes to offer practical insights by suggesting positive effect of self-discrepancy on behavior in the online community.

A Study on the Differences of Academic Achievement, Self-Efficacy, and Engineering Self-Efficacy with Gender of Engineering Students (공학계열 대학생의 성차: 학업 성취도, 일반적 자기효능감, 공학 자기효능감을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were difference between gender of engineering students in terms of academic achievement, self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy. A total of 387 engineering students (male=284, female=103) completed the self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy test. And students self-reported their grade point average(GPA) in their former semester. The results of t-test with gender about academic achievement indicated that there were not differences in academic achievement between gender. The results of MANOVA with grades indicated that there were differences in self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy between gender. Male students scored significantly higher than female students in self-efficacy, and engineering self-efficacy.

The Relationship of the Preschool Children's Self Regulation Ability and Multiple Intelligences (유아의 다중지능이 자기조절 능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among self-regulation and multiple intelligences of preschool children. The participants were 275 children between the ages 3, 4 and 5 and their mothers and teachers from kindergarten in Ulsan. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS v.21 computer program. The major results of this study were as follows; First, children's self-regulation ability was statistical significant disparity between sex and age. Second, children's Spatial Intelligence and Linguistic Intelligence were statistical significant disparity between sex and age. Logical-mathematical Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence were statistical significant disparity only age. Musical Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence were statistical significant disparity only sex. but Bodily-kinesthetic Intelligence was not statistical insignificant disparity between sex and age. Third, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Linguistic Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Logical-mathematical Intelligence and Interpersonal Intelligence were significant predictors on children's self-regulation ability. These results could be used as stepping stone in developing preschool children's self-regulation program in near future.

  • 이 연구에서는 학습전략 게임 활용 학습에서 자기조절학습능력의 효과를 분석하였다. 그리고 학습전략 게임 활용 학습이 학습자의 학습전략 수준에 따라 자기조절학습능력 신장에 주는 효과성을 검증하여 효과적인 게임 활용 학습 환경 설계에 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 연구대상으로서 103명의 초등학생에게 학습전략의 수준을 측정하고 4주간 10차시에 걸쳐 학습전략 게임 활용학습을 실시한 후 자기조절학습능력의 효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 학습전략 게임 활용 학습은 실험집단과 통제집단의 자기조절학습능력에 있어서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며 특히 인지조절, 동기조절에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 학습전략 게임 활용 학습은 학습전략 수준별 상, 중, 하 집단의 자기조절학습능력의 향상 차원에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며 특히 중 집단에서 유의한 차이가 있었다.

Mother's Verbal Control and Children's Self-Regulation (어머니의 언어통제와 유아의 자기조절능력)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine difference of Young Children's Self-Regulation by Mother's Verbal Control. To do so, The subject was composed of 146 3-, 4-, 5-year-old recruited from 5 child care centers in I city area And it utilized questionnaires to ask 146 mothers concerning Mother's Verbal Control and Young Children's Self-Regulation. The findings of this study were : First, the age and the gender of young children didn't affect the mother's verbal control. Second, the age of young children positively affected self decision and total self regulation total that is the subordinate area of self regulation. Third, use degree of mother's order and humanity verbal control divided high and low group up to the standard average value. As a result a low rank distribution of mother's verbal control positively affected. Forth, a result a low rank distribution of mother's verbal control positively affected self decision and behavior restrain and emotion and total self regulation total that is the subordinate area of self regulation.

A Study on Differences between Academic Self-Efficacy and Test Anxiety of Middle School Students depending on Gender and English Achievement (성별과 영어 학업성취도에 따른 중학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 시험불안 차이 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there are differences in academic self-efficacy and test anxiety between two groups(depending on gender and English achievement levels) of Korean middle school students. The subjects are 98 students who are 36 male and 62 female students. Two Questionnaires were administered to measure the learners' academic self-efficacy and test anxiety level. And the collected data were analyzed by t-test to examine the differences between two groups. The results of this study showed that there were statistically very significant differences in academic self-efficacy and test anxiety between two(male-female) groups. But there were no differences statistically in academic self-efficacy and test anxiety between two(high level-low level) groups. Further studies need to be conducted carefully considering the limitations of this study in terms of its instruments and subjects. Also the differences in other affective variables between two groups need to be studied in the future.

Differential Effects of Self-relevance Levels on Framing Effects in Decision Making (의사결정에서의 자기관련성 수준에 따른 틀효과의 차이)

  • This study aimed to investigate the differential effects of self-relevance on framing effects. For this purpose, the participants were allocated into two frame type conditions(positive vs. negative), and asked to respond on six decision-making scenarios manipulated by self-relevance levels(low vs. high). The results can be summarized as followings. First, although self-relevance level made no significant difference in framing effects, the positive frame condition tended to induce larger framing effects than the negative frame condition. Second, no significant interaction effect between frame type and self-relevance level condition was found in the positive condition, whereas high self-relevance level condition induced smaller framing effects than law self-relevance level condition in the negative frame condition. These results indicated that although self-relevance tended to reduce framing effects, this effect can be differed in frame types.

  • 허파에 대한 수소 자기공명영상은 현재까지 거의 불가능한 것으로 알려져 있다. 허파의 조직과 비어있는 공간 사이의 심한 자화율(susceptibility) 차이로 인해서 영상왜곡 현상이 유발되어 그릇된 영상정보를 만들기 때문이다. 본 강좌에서는 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 레이저 광펌핑 방법으로 초편극화된 비활성기체를 이용한 자기공명연구를 소개한다. 일반적인 자기공명 신호와 쳐편극화된 비활성기체를 이용한 자기공명 연구를 소개한다. 일반적인 자기공명 신호와 초편극화 기체를 이용한 신호의 차이와 물리적인 원리를 고찰할 것이다 . 비활성기체가 초편극화 되었을 때, 일반적인 자기공명의 경우에 (자기장: 1 Tesla, 온도는 $30^{\circ}C$의 열평형상태) 비해서 약 $10^{5}$ 정도의 magnetizaion 향상을 기대할 수 있으며, 기체상태라는 점이 감안된다 해도 의미 있는 자기공명신호를 획득할 수 있다. 비활성기체를 초편exchange 방법을 통하여 간접적으로 가스를 편극화 시키는 두 가지 방법이 있다. 이들의 기본적인 원리와 두 방법의 장단점 등을 알아 볼 것이다. 더불어, 초편극화 정도가 외부자기장의 세기 차이에 의한 영향을 받지 않는 다는 특성을 이용하는 경우, 비용을 최소화 하면서 고해상도의 영상을 얻을 수 있으며, 이동성이 용이한 낮은 자기고명진단기가 가능한데 이에 대한 소개를 할 것이다. 그리고, 초편극화가스를 이용한 자기공명영상 연구의 현재 동향 및 미래에 대해서 논의한다.

An Analysis on the Two Processes of Social Comparison and Self-Comparison (사회비교와 자기비교의 두 과정에 관한 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the two processes of social comparison and self-comparison, and to suggest the applications of social comparison theories and self-comparison theories. For these purposes, social comparison theory, self-evaluation maintenance model, control theory, self-discrepancy theory, regulatory focus theory, and temporal comparison theory were reviewed. The processes of social comparison and self-comparison are different, but both comparisons are similar in that they have some effects on self-evaluation, emotion, motivation and behaviors. Suggestions on education, health, economic justice and interpersonal relationships were discussed.

The Relationship among Dance-majoring High School Students Narcissism, Self-management and Eating Disorder (무용전공고등학생의 자기애와 자기관리 및 섭식장애의 관계)

  • To investigate and verity the relationship among dance-majoring high school students' narcissistic trait, self-management and eating disorder, this study collected samples from 200 students by selecting high school students who are majoring in dance in arts high schools. For data analysis, this study used t-test, one way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. As a result of analyzing the relationship among dance-majoring high school students' narcissistic trait, self-management and eating disorder, this study produced following results. First, results of investigation on the difference in narcissistic trait, self-management and eating disorder according to individual characteristics, eating disorder differed significantly according to the gender, and self-management also showed a meaningful difference according to grade. Second, results of analysis on the effect of dance-majoring high school students' narcissistic trait on self-management show that self-initiative narcissistic trait exerted a positive (+) effect on all sub-factors of self-management, and other-dependent narcissistic trait turned out to have a positive (+) effect on the training management. Third, as a result of investigating the effect of dance-majoring high school students' perfectionism inclination on their eating disorder, other-dependent narcissistic trait exerts a positive (+) effect on sitomania.
