  • This study is a quasi experimental study to investigate the effects of stroke prevention education program of Oriental Nursing on self-health perception, health behavior change, self-care and physiological index of adults over 55 years old and elderly people. The data were collected from August 12 to November 29, 2017. The 53 study subjects comprised 26 experimental subjects who agreed to participate in the education program and 27 control subjects. In the results, there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in general characteristics and research variables before the program; further, the two groups were homogenous. In the hypothesis test, the change in self-health perceptions of the experimental and control groups was t = -5.28 (p <.001), health behavior change was t = -4.24 (p <.001), self-care was t = -5.28 (p <.05), systolic blood pressure was t = 2.48 (p <.05), diastolic blood pressure was t = 2.78 (p <.05), and cholesterol was t = -3.94 (p <.001). There were statistically significant differences between the two groups and all four hypotheses were supported, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the program. These study results suggest that it is an effective program to change the self-perception of health and health behavior, improve self-care ability, and control the physiological index. It is expected that these findings will be useful in developing a future effective oriental nursing intervention. The education program should be continuously carried out, and the area needs to be expanded.

  • Objective: This study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an individually tailored program based on self-measurement of blood glucose on health behavior and HbA1c in diabetes and pre-diabetes patients. Methods: The program consisted of seven sessions for 12 weeks which were carried out every two weeks. Almost all sessions were progressed on untact method except for the first and last session. The 71 subjects were assessed for their knowledge of diabetes, health behavior, the experience of self-measurement of blood glucose, body mass Index (BMI) and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) at before and after the program. They were also evaluated on their degree of utilization of blood glucose measurements after the program. Results: Each mean score on their knowledge of diabetes, health behavior and the experience of self-measurement of blood glucose was significantly increased from 14.77, 25.50, and 2.70 to 15.41, 28.40, and 4.81, respectively. Each mean score on both BMI and HbA1c (n=53) was significantly decreased from 24.47kg/m2 and 7.27% to 24.01kg/m2 and 6.67%, respectively. The post-HbA1c had a significant negative correlation(r=-0.415) with the degree of utilization of blood glucose measurements. The degree of utilization of blood glucose measurements had a significant positive correlation(r=0.581) with post-health behavior. Conclusions: The program shows effectiveness in improving HbA1c in Type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes patients. The post-HbA1c might be related to the degree of utilization of blood glucose measurements which might be related to the health behavior.

Also, those who brushed teeth twice per week(58.6%) and averagely, earned 2~3 million won of monthly income(p<.01), showed a higher frequency of tooth brushing. Experienced workers(p<.01) were more interested in oral health. Those who were engaged in other jobs and had less than 10~20 years of experience(p<.05), had lots of experience in staying away from work. More aged group recognized that oral health education is necessary(p<.05). The population of oral examination and health instruction may have a favorable impact on maintenance of oral health status and improvement in quality of life.

  • Unlike the feature of SNS, which strengthens two-way communication and promotes interaction through consistent on/off line identity management, passive use of Facebook to unilaterally accept other people's opinions is being strengthened, and more people tend to use Facebook anonymously or pseudonym to enjoy freedom of expression. To illustrate this transformative use behavior, this study suggests an integrated model including psychological and behavioral variables such as self-esteem, real name use, and opinion expression to explore the effect on social relationship value perception and satisfaction. Studies have shown that self-esteem affects the use of real names and self-exposure, and that the satisfaction and sustainability of relationships have increased as real-name users expose more information about themselves.

  • This study was to investigate their relevance between oral health behaviors and number of remaining teeth of the elderly welfare recipients through the fluoride and scaling of the business. Researcher collected 660 subjects over 60 elderly welfare recipients investigated self-administered survey and use denture and number of remaining teeth though oral examination. Increasingly age number of teeth remaining reduced, there is a difference on the number of remaining teeth according to gender, age, the use of oral hygiene products, self diagnosis oral condition, brushing after lunch and showed significant difference(p<0.05). The remaining number of teeth can be prevented by attention and efforts of subjects. Therefore, we investigated convergent effects of oral health behaviors on number of remaining teeth of the elderly, I hope that oral health care program continually provides expansion of preventive treatment and to maintain the provision of health care about vulnerable group.

Excluding 19 inadequate answers, 279 questionnaire copies were analyzed. First, the analysis results is knowledge level of oral care, the students who smoking or drinking were found to be more than without experience groups (p=0.025). Second, in regard to the self perception of oral condition, the group with experience of proper tooth brushing techniques has statistically significant difference compared to the group without experience (p=0.000). And third, the question about oral health behavior was significantly higher than the group with no smoking experience. The importance of oral health care is closely related to oral health knowledge. It's necessary to provide oral health promotion program and smoking cessation programs in high school students.
