Recently, the need of wast incineratory has been recognized. However, the waste incinerator is considered the typical example of NYMB syndrome as a locally unwanted facilities. Therefore, the site selection of waste incineratory should be determined very carefully with consideration of various location factors. The purpose of this study is to provide a new decision-making process model for site selection that provides a rational and a systematic way. The fuzzy set theory and AHP theory, which have merits to overcome uncertainly and complexity of spatial data, are applied to select candidate sites for the waste incineratory. The method is able to produce a more flexible and objective solution for selecting suitability sites in comparison to rigid boolean logic. The result of this study shows that geographic information systems have clear implication for informing the spatial decision making process.

This research empirically analyzed the selection factors and the locational selection factors of the medical service facilities according to the gradual increase of the importance of the selection factors and the locational selection factors regarding the establishments of the small- and medium-sized hospitals according to the rapid changes of the socio-economic conditions. By analyzing the priority order according to the levels of the importance of each evaluation item factor through a research related to the selection factors and the locational selection factors of the small- and medium-sized hospitals and by drawing what the important factors that have the influences on the competitiveness of the pre-existent small- and medium-sized hospitals are through the classification of the real estate locational factors and the non-locational factors, the purpose lies in utilizing them as the basic data and materials for the opening strategies of the small- and medium-sized hospitals considering the special, locational characteristics according to the important factors of the selection factors of the small- and medium-sized hospitals, regarding the medical suppliers that have been preparing, for opening the new, small- and medium-sized hospitals. Based on the results of the preceding researches and the researches on the case examples, 28 evaluation factors were arrived at in terms of the level of the medical treatment, the medical services, the accessibilities of the hospitals, the conveniences of the hospitals, and the physical environment. And, regarding the 28 detailed evaluation factors that had been collected, through the interviews with the related experts, the 5 factors of the medical level, the medical service, the expertise of the hospital, the convenience of the hospital, and the physical environment were selected as the upper class evaluation factors. And, according to each upper class, a total of 28 low-part evaluation factors were selected. Regarding the optimal evaluation factors that were selected, the optimal locational factors were selected by carrying out an AHP questionnaire survey investigation with 200 medical experts as the subjects. Regarding the AHP analysis results, similarly with the case examples of the precedent researches, the levels of the importance appeared in the order of the medical level, the medical services, the accessibility of the hospital, the physical environment, and the convenience. And the factors that were related to the facilities of a hospital appeared low. The results of this research can be applied in providing the basis for the decision-makings regarding the selections of the locations of the small- and medium-sized hospitals in the future.

Where should a plant or service facility be located? The decision is crucial since the capital investment in land, factory construction, and facility is enormous. Once a firm has sunk a large sum of money into a factory, it lives with the decision for a long time. In this age of global markets and global production, this is a key decision problem for contemporary manufacturing and/or service. Using data from Korean and Chinese managers and the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), this paper did study on the actual condition for identifying the differences of opinion between the two group's(Shanghai and Shenyang managers) in how to make decisions on the location problems. Since this study was carried out during recent global economy recession, and the limitation of the collected questionnaires, it is hard to avoid the possibility for those managers to show different view from their ordinary times. Nevertheless, this paper will provide managers with useful informations on successful facility location in China.

The economical efficiency and easy ship building have enabled to spread FRP ships in the shipbuilding field. As waste FRP ships have been thrown away at a river or within a harbour, this matter has become issues. For the improvement of this matter, the melting technique and system of waste FRP ships was developed. But, Decision making was required for a location plan of the melting system of waste FRP ships. It's recognized that the location decision of this system is difficult due to the dependence on technical, economical, environmental factors. In this paper, we survey the primary factors of location-economic, life-environment, infrastructure and make up a question for the experts. We also calculate the important weight and related weight using Fuzzy AHP, Limiting probability method and discuss on the calculation results on the proposed sites.

When viewing that since the 1990s local governments have tried to build golf courses as a plan to revitalize the attraction of home and abroad tourists and to increase their tax incomes and that big companies are interested in leisure business including golf courses as a future promising business in the 21st century, golf courses seem to continuously increase in the future. On the contrary, noticing that golf courses are not only the main culprit behind the damage of natural environment and environmental pollution but also a target of real estate speculation and that golf makes a sense of incongruity between the classes of a society as a luxury sports, environment activists and local residents raise criticism to golf. Golf in our country shows a special sports phenomenon of which the pros and cons appear continuously. So, it is judged that policy for golf development direction should be set up based on verified scientific data. Thus, the research aims at deriving the location types of golf courses by looking at laws from the period of formation of the initial domestic golf courses to the recent period, grasping their distribution status according to time series and regions, conducting a questionnaire survey regarding location factors for golfers and the workers of golf courses, and dividing golf courses into several types. It is expected that the research will be a fundamental material when a golf course is built later on, contributing to the research of golf courses.

본 연구의 목적은 공공시설물이지만 기피시설물이기 때문에 상당한 갈등을 일으키고 있는 쓰레기 소각장 입지를 선정하는데 있어서 GIS를 기반으로 다기준평가기법을 활용하여 보다 객관적이고 과학적이면서도 유연적인 후보입지를 추출하려는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 입지요인들을 표준화한 후 각 요인들이 갖는 상대적 중요도를 반영하는 가중치를 산출하고 의사결정 규칙을 적용하여 적합도 수준에 따른 후보입자들을 추출하였다. 또한 민감도 분석을 통하여 각 평가기준들에 대해 상이한 가중치를 부여하고 의사결정 규칙방법을 달리 적용하였을 경우 후보입지들의 적합도 순위에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 파악하였다. 이러한 방법을 통해 분석된 결과는 의사결정자들이 입지를 결정하는데 필요한 정보를 활용될 수 있으며, 따라서 GIS를 기반으로 하는 다기준 평가기법은 공간적 의사결정 지원시스템으로서으 GIS기능을 증대시킨다고 볼 수 있다.

대형할인점의 출현은 비록 시장 경제의 원칙에 따른다고 하지만, 궁극적으로 도시의 토지이용과 도시 시설계획 그리고 시민의 일상생활의 편익에 많은 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 합리적인 토지이용계획과 도시시설계획을 수립하기 위해서는 대형할인점의 입지 특성을 고려하여 입지선정이 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 대형할인점의 최적 입지를 선정하고자, 영업면적이 $3000m^2$이상인 대형할인점에 대한 입지 요인을 토지이용, 도시시설 그리고 시민의 일상생활을 구성하는 물리적 요인의 관점에서 살펴보아 그 특성을 요약하여 도출하고자 한다. 그리고 이를 기반으로 GIS와 AHP를 통합 이용하여 정확하고, 효율적으로 최적입지를 선정하고자 한다.

This study examines why families move to neighborhoods at different levels of income. By analyzing a survey dataset of homeowners who sold and bought a house in 1999 in Franklin County, Ohio, in USA on their mobility decisions, this study examined the factors associated with cross-income residential location decisions. I categorized both survey respondents and neighborhoods into low-, middle-, and high-income levels and ran multinomial logit analyses for each of the low-, middle-, and high-income family groups to examine why families moved to neighborhoods at different levels of income. The analysis suggests that middle-income families moved to high-income neighborhoods because of school reputation and moved to low-income neighborhoods because of investment purposes.

This res arch was conducted to identify a suitable location for an inland logistics complex in Gangwon Province, South Korea and it aims use competitive factors to derive implications from the logistics competitiveness of Gangwon Province. According to Origin-Destination analysis, the most suitable and desirable site for creating the complex was found to be in the Wonju city area. A total of 28 variable were derived through prior study in order to identify the competition factors for the inland logistics complex, As a result of exploratory factor analysis, a total of 16 subfactors were reclassified into four main factors. Analytic hierarchy process(AHP) analysis showed that 'accessibility factors' (0.374) ranked highest in terms of importance, followed by 'reliability factors' (0.358), 'operability factors' (0.166), and 'government policy factors' (0.102). In each category, delivery of goods from the inland logistics complex base to the demand site was found to be the most important factor (0.160).

Many studies have identified the determinants of shippers' selection of ports, and of these, a number have repetitively cited major elements. However, different researchers came up with somewhat different research results depending on the position and preference of research targets. Accordingly, to deduce the determinants of shippers' selection of Gwangyang Port, appropriate research and analysis is required in addition to literature study. This study first deduced from previous studies the determinants that have influence on shippers when selecting a port and positively analyzed the effects of those determinants on the shippers using Gwangyang Port. In this regard, whether shippers using Gwangyang Port have continuously used the port was set as a dependent variable, and port service, port facilities, location of ports, port costs, and other determinants for port selection deduced in the previous studies were set as independent variables. This study's analysis finds shippers using Gwangyang Port are all influenced by the elements of port service, port facilities, location of ports, and port costs in their selection of Gwangyang Port. Their degree of importance is in the order of port costs, location of ports, port service and port facilities. This indicates that shippers consider port costs and location of ports more important than port facilities in their selection of a port.
