Preparation of hydroxyapatite/$TiO_2$ biocomposite powders by wet chemical method (습식화학법에 의한 수산화아파타이트/$TiO_2$ 생체용 복합분말의 제조)

  • In this work, HA/$TiO_2$ biocomposite to get high mechanical properties with biocompatibility were prepared. HA/$TiO_2$ biocomposite powders were prepared by mixing $TiO_2$ and HA powders which were synthesized through sol-gel, precipitation and hydrothermal methods. The mixing ratio was fixed at 1:1 ratio (HA/$TiO_2$, wt%). HA/$TiO_2$ biocomposite powders showed different microstructures depending on their particle size and shape. The smaller particles were coated on the surface of larger particles, whereas they were well mixed and dispersed when both $TiO_2$ and HA were nanocrystallites. HA/$TiO_2$ biocomposite powders with homogeneous microstructure showed high sintered density and good mechanical properties.

Improved Antireflection Property of Si by Au Nanoparticle-Assisted Electrochemical Etching (금 나노입자 촉매를 이용한 단결정 실리콘의 전기화학적 식각을 통한 무반사 특성 개선)

  • We fabricated the textured silicon (Si) surface on Si substrates by the electrochemical etching using gold (Au) nanoparticle catalysts. The antireflective property of the fabricated Si nanostructures was improved. The Au nanoparticles of ~20-150 nm were formed by the rapid thermal annealing using thermally evaporated Au films on Si. In the chemical etching, the aqueous solution containing $H_2O_2$ and HF was used. In order to investigate the effect of electrochemical etching on the etching depth and reflectance characteristics, the sample was immersed in the aqueous etching solution for 1 min with and without applied cathodic voltages of -1 V and -2 V. As a result, the solar weighted reflectance, i.e., the averaged reflectance with considering solar spectrum (air mass 1.5), could be efficiently reduced for the electrochemically etched Si by applying the cathodic voltage of -2 V, which is expected to be useful for Si solar cell applications.

Model for Flow Analysis of Fresh Concrete Using Particle Method with Visco-Plastic Flow Formulation (점소성 유동 입자법에 의한 굳지 않은 콘크리트의 유동해석 모델)

  • In the current study, A model for the flow analysis of fresh and highly flowable concrete has been developed using a particle method, the moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method. The phenomena on the flow of concrete has been considered as a visco-plastic flow problem, and the basic governing equation of concrete particle dynamics has been based on the Navier-Stokes equation in Lagrangian form and the conservation of mass. In order to formulate a visco-plastic flow constitutive law of fresh concrete, concrete is modeled as a highly viscous material in the state of non-flow and as a visco-plastic material in the state of flow after reaching the yield stress of fresh concrete. A flow test of fresh concrete in the L-box was simulated and the predicted flow was well matched with the experimental result. The developed method was well showed the flow motion of concrete particles because it was formulated to be based on the motion of visco-plastic fluid dynamics.

Preparation and Swelling Properties of Poly(potassium acrylate-co-acrylamide) Superabsorbent Particles (폴리(아크릴산 포타슘-co-아크릴아마이드) 고흡수성 입자의 제조 및 팽윤 특성)

  • Superabsorbent poly(potassium acrylate-co-acrylamide)s were synthesized in particle form using inverse suspension polymerization technique. Mean diameter of the prepared polymer particles decreased from 300 to 50 $\mu\textrm{m}$ with increasing surfactant concentration. The dynamic and equilibrium swelling behaviors during water absorption and drying process were investigated by weight measurement. The swelling ratio of polymer particles in water changed according to not only polymer crosslinking density, but particle size, saline concentration of aqueous medium, and copolymer compositions. Water sorption amount was increased with decreasing particle size, crosslinking agent concentration, and ion concentration in bulk solution. Being different from the water sorption process, the drying process was not significantly affected by particle size, polymer composition, or crosslinking amount.

  • 금속이나 세라믹 입자를 용사하여 보호피막을 형성하는 기술은 화염을 사용하는 방법에서 시작했으며 용사재료는 분말, 선, 봉의 형태로 공급되었다. 1960년대에 상업적인 plasma 용사장비가 개발되었으며 여기서 사용된 D.C.plasma jet를 이용하여 분말형태의 용사재료를 용융하고 고속으로 피용사테에 용융입자를 분사하여 피용사체면에 충돌시켜 다층의 얇은 피막을 형성한다. 최근(1985년)에는 R.F.(Radio Frequency) Plasma를 이용하여 열전도도가 작은 재료나 산소와 반응성이 큰 재료를 용사하는 방법도 개발되고 있다. 용사피복법은 현재 여러가지 방법이 실용되고 있으며 재료를 용융하는 열원에 따라 분류하면 표1과 같다. 즉 산소와 연료 가스의 혼합에 의한 연소나 폭발에너지를 이용하는 가스식 용사법과 Arc, Plasma등의 전기 에너지를 이용하는 전기식 용사법으로 크게 나눌 수 있다.

  • 각종 배출원에서 배출된 입자상 물질은 대기 중 확산, 이동, 침착 등을 통해 국지적 도시오염 뿐만 아니라 장거리까지도 이동함으로서 광역적 대기오염의 원인이 되고 있는 등 입자상 물질의 발생원 추적에 관한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 지금까지 입자상 물질의 발생원 추적은 대부분 배출원의 발생량 조사나 필터에 포집된 시료의 전체적인 화학적 분석의 개념으로 단시간의 시간변동과 개개의 입자가 가지는 정보가 무시되고 평균화되고 있다. (중략)

대기압에서 실리콘 양자 점 제조 및 비휘발성 메모리의 응용

  • 상온/상압의 분위기에서 코로나 분사 합성법을 이용하여 반도체 실리콘 나노 입자를 제조하였으며, 실리콘 입자의 전기적 특성을 관찰하기 위해 p-type 실리콘웨이퍼 위에 실리콘 나노 입자를 증착시켰다. 이때, 제조된 실리콘 나노 입자의 크기는 약 10 nm이었으며 기하표준편차는 1.31로 단분산성을 나타내었다. 이러한 조건에서, 실리콘 나노 입자의 양자 점 효과를 이용한 비휘발성 반도체 메모리를 제조하여 메모리효과를 분석한 결과, flat band voltage의 차이가 약 1.5 Volt 발생함을 확인하였다.

Study on the Melting Point Depression of Tin Nanoparticles Manufactured by Modified Evaporation Method (수정된 증발법을 이용하여 제작된 주석 나노입자의 녹는점 강하에 관한 연구)

  • In the present study, the melting temperature depression of Sn nanoparticles manufactured using the modified evaporation method was investigated. For this purpose, a modified evaporation method with mass productivity was developed. Using the manufacturing process, Sn nanoparticles of 10 nm size was manufactured in benzyl alcohol solution to prevent oxidation. To examine the morphology and size distribution of the nanonoparticles, a transmission electron microscope was used. The melting temperature of the Sn nanoparticles was measured using a Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) which can calculate the endothermic energy during the phase changing process and an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) used for observing the manufactured Sn nanoparticle compound. The melting temperature of the Sn nanoparticles was observed to be $129^{\circ}C$, which is $44^{\circ}C$ lower than that of the bulk material. Finally, the melting temperature was compared with the Gibbs Thomson and Lai's equations, which can predict the melting temperature according to the particle size. Based on the experimental results, the melting temperature of the Sn nanoparticles was found to match well with those recommended by the Lai's equation.

Authentication Test of Archaeological Materials using Single Grain Regenerative Dose Method (단일입자재현법(單一粒子再現法)을 활용한 고고유물의 진위판별 연구)

  • This article aims to turn out the authentication of archaeological materials by using the paleodose measurement to fine sand-size quartz grains obtained by micro sampling technique. We firstly revealed the validity of micro sampling technique from the paleodoses of two bricks related to Muryong Royal Tomb of Baekje Kingdom. For the purpose of authentication test, four archaeological materials were selected, because they have been insisted that they were manufactured in Goguryeo Kingdom era. After obtaining very few quartz grains by micro sampling technique, each paleodose was evaluated by using SGR (single grain regenerative dose method). All values were very low below 0.2Gy and the reliability was found from those values by using SAR (single aliquot regenerative dose method). Considering the archaeological situation and the general paleodose, the burial time for 1,000 years generally corresponds to about 3.5Gy in Korea, it is concluded that these archaeological materials are all modern counterfeits.
