Recently, super high-speed motor drives have been available due to the development of power electronics technology And they are used in various fields of industry because of their advantages. This paper describes the control algorithm for a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) drive at the speed of 118,000r/min using DSP and IGBT inverter. Hall sensors are implemented to measure the rotor position and speed, and a speed observer is used to reduce the performance deterioration caused by the low resolution of hall sensors. To enhance the output power capacity in the high-speed operating region, a flux weakening controller which also can work as an anti-wind up controller is used. Computer simulations and experiments are peformed to validate the proposed method.

In recent years, Korea encourages teachers to do STEAM education(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics), which includes Arts to STEM education to train creative science technology talent. Related to this, we developed a subject substitute STEAM program for the 6th grade students in elementary school and applied it in a field. The STEAM program which substitutes contents in curriculum related to Energy unit was developed and it was taught to twenty four sixth grade students during regular classes. During the classes, all activities of students were observed and they were written in recording notes during the observation. After all STEAM program ended, how students recognize the subject substitute STEAM program compared to general class, understand learning contents and think about the program before and after the STEAM classes were analyzed through questionnaire and interviews. The results were as follows. First, some students had difficulty in reconciling different ideas in group, creative thinking and crafts but most students liked the STEAM classes because many activities are fun and it is easy to understand. Second, learners regarded practical use of knowledge, learning different subjects together and interests as the reasons they can understand learning contents easily during STEAM program. Third, learners recognized STEAM classes are good to understand knowledge, think creative ideas and improve social skills after the STEAM classes while they showed anticipation, worry and fear before taking the classes. It is found that a subjective substitute STEAM program is helpful to increase learners' interests in learning, understand learning contents, increase creativity and have a good personality through a qualitative research.

The purpose of this study is to examine how elementary pre-service teachers have a perception of 'science'. Especially, this study used photo-narrative method to analysis pre-service teachers' perception of 'science'. Photo-narrative is a way of describing what a study participant wants to say by taking a picture. Participants were 66 elementary pre-service teachers. The results of this study were as follows: First, elementary pre-service teachers used many words such as people, life, everyday as well as scientific terms such as phenomena and principles to explain science. Secondly, the pictures used by elementary pre-service teachers to explain science included household goods, natural phenomena, advanced devices, and living things. Third, elementary pre-service teachers explained science with knowledge of science, knowledge, convenience, and nature of science. As a result of this study, it was found that elementary pre-service teachers recognized that science is closely related to life and that it is necessary for learning. The results of this study can contribute not only to curriculum composition and curriculum content of elementary and middle school science education but also to curriculum development for teacher training.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the elementary students' selection of representable value and confident method that appear in measuring activities by using a microgenetic method. The participants were seven elementary students in the fourth grade. They performed the same measuring activities six times for the study period. Data were collected by interview and observation with their activity recording papers and video tape transcription. Their activities were recorded and documented for the analysis. Results were as follows. First, in the time measuring activity, elementary students developed desirably as their measuring experience increased, for example they selected a representable value in use of a repeated measurement and used a various method in the domain of a time measurement and they showed an increase of a quantitative observation in the volume domain except in the length domain. Second, in a confident method of a representable value, though they must rely upon a repeated measurement, they only measure repeatedly in the time domain. Also in the time domain, it doesn't get accomplished a exact confidence of a representable value at a shortage of skill about a measurement. Accordingly this study will be implications for teachers to teach a handling abilities of measuring instruments to elementary students and to be promote understanding a nature of measurement.
This study was conducted to clarify of relationship with major physiological characters and RAPD patterns of garlic(Allium sativum L.) germplasm collected from the worldwide using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) analysis. Eighty-four garlic accessions were classified into ten varietal groups by physiological characters with the single linkage clustering based on Q correlations. The majority was early maturing varieties collected from East-Asia, late maturing varieties were Europe. RAPD marker, $WE61_{1,630}$ was amplified with late maturing varieties and high correlation have shown, though three accessions weren't amplified. Clove undifferentiation and secondary growth had mainly occur accessions collected from Europe, but hadn't shown perfect linkage to RAPD. RAPD marker, $WF70_{1,400}$ appeared in bolting garlic and $WF64_{1,400}$ appeared only in fertile garlic. Unknown garlic amplified in $WF64_{1,400}$ might be fertile garlic, because of their collection site were from Central-Asia.

The purpose of this study was to analyze science-gifted students' knowledge-generation processes by analyzing students' inquiry journal. As a result, first, science-gifted students showed various knowledge-generation processes, but they were limited to inductive thinking and abductive thinking, and their thinking processes were very simple. Second, most of the knowledge-generation processes of science gifted were simple, repetitive and diagrammatic processes because of observation and empirical situation of a limited scope. And a simple and repetitive diagram was generated by a simple variable selection and design, observation in limited scope, unbiased intervention by subjective thinking, and absence of exploration or finding errors. And they showed often a logical leap of reasoning.
After supplemention with the licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), mustard (Brassica juncea), and chitosan as food additives to low-salted doenjang containing 30% lower salt than control doenjang (12.7% salt), fermentation properties of doenjang were investigated for 40 days. Adding the licorice, mustard, and chitosan to low-salted doenjangs containing 10.2% and 8.9% of salt did not affect the acidity, viable cell count, or color of doenjang. A white pellicle-forming strain was detected at the surface of low-salted doenjangs (10.2% and 8.9% salt) but not the control doenjang and low-salted doenjangs added with mixed additives (licorice, mustard, and chitosan). The amino nitrogen content of 8.9% salted doenjang added with mixed additives at 20 days was 332 mg% and this value was similar to that of 12.7% salted doenjang at 40 days. In sensory evaluation, the 8.9% salted doenjang added the additives had the highest score in overall palatability. These results indicate that salt contents of doenjang could be lowered to 8.9% by adding licorice, mustard, and chitosan, resulting in improved palatability, shortened fermentation period, and inhibited abnormal fermentation.
Cymbidium goeringii native to Korea and other orchid plants were pot-grown from spring to autumn under the greenhouse conditions, and were subjected to artificial pollination to elucidate the compatibility by revealing viable seed formation. A notable compatibility was found when Cym. goeringii was selfed and was crossed with either Cym. ensifolium, Cym. kanran, Cym. sinense, Cym. sinense for. albo-jucundissimum, Cym. 'Crystal Cherry Angel', or Cym. 'Anmitsu Hime'. Cym. goeringii, however, did not show such compatibility when crossed with either Cym. faberi, Cym. aloifolium, Dendrobium chrysotoxum, or Phalaenopsis spp. RAPD analysis indicated that taxa relationship between Cym. goeringii and either Cym. faberi or Cym. aloifolium (respective chromosome number, 2n=40) was distant, showing no compatibility, and even more distant in the case of cross-pollination between Cym. goeringii and either Dendrobium chrysotoxum or Phalaenopsis spp. having different chromosome number from all Cymbidium species.
This study investigated the variation in fruit characteristics between different triploid progenies derived from a cross between tetraploid and diploid grape cultivars, with the aim of developing high quality, labor-saving triploid grapes. No differences were found in fruit quality traits such as soluble solids content and titratable acidity, whereas significant variation was noted in cluster weight induced by a one-time application of GA3 (100 ppm) on the triploid progeny of different cross combinations. The cluster weight was higher in progeny obtained from 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei' than for offspring derived from other cross combinations; deviation in the mean cluster weight was also small for 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei' progeny. These results suggest that specific cross combinations, such as 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei', can be used to efficiently breed new, labor-saving seedless grape cultivars.

Various smart-phone applications for location-based service are enabled through mobile communications such as 3G and WiFi. We have developed MARS, an advanced location-based route-search application based on the Android platform. It provides three functions: route-registration, route-search, and route-evaluation. These functions are dynamically maintained by a web server, a database server, and user mobile terminals. As users can update location information using their smart-phone devices, servers provide the information and allow users to add, modify, and remove their own information as well as adding comments to others, while existing map services do not support direct inputs from users. We show our implementation process and demonstration of its operations. We also show the comparison results with existing services. Through these results, we can confirm that MARS can achieve better performance.
