The Mediating Effect of Work-Life Balance on Relationship between Grit and Job Embeddedness of Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 그릿과 직무착근도의 관계에서 일과 삶의 균형의 매개효과)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to confirm the mediating effect of work-life balance in the relationship between grit and job embeddedness of clinical nurses. Participants included 155 nurses from four hospitals located in D city. Data was collected from July 29 to August 19, 2022 using a self-report questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Baron and Kenny's three-step hierarchical regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. In this study, it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between the nurse's grit, job embeddedness, and work-life balance, and it was confirmed that work-life balance partially mediated the relationship between grit and job embeddedness. Therefore, it is suggested that grit and work-life balance should be improved in order to improve the job embeddedness of nurses.

  • This study aims to analyze chemotherapy medication safety management system and formulate efficient methods to solve problems in the medication safety practices through application of 6 sigma techniques. From the results of analysis conducted, targeting nurses, such 3 factors as process-related factor, nurse-related factor and environment-related factor were identified as problems of the chemotherapy medication safety management. Through analyzing the prior knowledge about chemotherapy mediation safety and level of performance of nurses, the educational performance to complement deficiencies were selected as the final improvement plan, and the improvement activities were completed through drawing out management plans that specify management methods and countermeasures in the event of problems.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Positive Psychological Capital on Burnout among Nurses at a General Hospital (일개 종합병원 간호사의 감정노동, 긍정심리역량이 소진에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of emotional Labor and positive psychological capital on burnout in general hospital nurses. Participants were 157 nurses working at F General Hospital in C City, Gyeongsangnam Province and data were collected from February 8 to 22, 2019. Data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis using SPSS Win 23.0. Burnout was positively correlated with emotional labor (r=.531, p<.001), whereas a negative correlation was observed with positive psychological capital (r=-.391, p<.001). Factors influencing burnout included emotional labor (β=.47, p<.001), positive psychological capital (β=-.28, p<.001), with 34.9% explanatory power (F=42.78, p<.001). This result may be useful in developing new strategies for reducing burnout. Further research is needed to identify other factors affecting the burnout of general hospital nurses.

The Importance and Satisfaction of Intensive Care Unit Health Care Providers with Intensive Care Unit Clinical Nurse Expert's Role (중환자실 전담간호사 역할에 대한 중환자실 의료인의 중요도와 만족도)

  • This study was aimed to identify importance and satisfaction of intensive care unit health care providers for Intensive Care Unit Clinical Nurse Expert (ICU CNE) roles. A questionnaire survey was performed with 138 intensive care unit health care providers between May 3 to 29, 2021. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. t-test and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). There were statistically significant differences in importance(t=2.33, p=.024) and satisfaction(t=5.43, p<.001) between physicians and nurses. The importance and satisfaction of intensive care unit health care providers were ranked in the order of advanced clinical practice, professional activity, coordination and cooperation, education and counseling and research. In the 'concentrate' area, it was found that 'Professional activity' and 'Education' should be improved. A strategy is needed to strengthen the expertise of ICU CNE and to enhance the competency in areas that need improvement.

Mediation Effect of Job satisfaction in the Relationship between Nurses' violence experience and turnover intention (임상간호사의 폭력경험과 이직의도 관계에서 직무만족의 매개효과)

  • This study investigated how clinical nurse's violence experience influenced turnover intention and job satisfaction and how job satisfaction mediates the relationship between violence experience and turnover intention. In order to get the answers, a survey of 213 registered nurses from 3 hospitals in U-city and analyzed with SPSS/WIN 25.0 version. The survey was conducted using a self-reporting questionnaire February 2019 to April 2019. Nurse's violence experience was negatively correlated job satisfaction but was positively correlated with turnover intention. Hierarchical regression analysis showed violence that explained 16.5% of job satisfaction and explained 6.1% of turnover intention. Job satisfaction worked as a partial mediation between violence and turnover intention. It is necessary to reduce violence and to increase job satisfaction for reduce turnover intention in strategies of hospital.

Effect of Cost Perception and Cost Attitude on Cost Management Behavior among Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 간호 원가인식 및 원가태도가 원가관리행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate how the cost perception and the cost attitude of nurses have effect on cost management behavior. Methods: Participants were 150 nurses who had worked for more than 1 year in general hospitals. Data were collected from November 16 to December 11, 2015, using self-recorded questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression methods. Results: Cost management behavior was positively correlated with cost perception and cost attitude. Cost attitude was revealed as the variable having effect on cost management behavior. Positive cost attitude can induce desirable cost management. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop effective and systematic Cost Education Program for nurses. Our result is useful to develop cost Education program of clinical nurses, and can be expandable for a variety of fields in programs for nursing students, and nurse managers.

The Mediating Effect of Resilience on the Relationship between Nurse Practice Environment and Organizational Commitment in Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 간호근무환경과 조직몰입의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과)

  • This study is a descriptive research to grasp the effects of nurse practice environment on organizational commitment and to confirm the mediating effect of resilience. The subjects of this study were 150 nurses who agreed to participate in this study among clinical nurses working in university hospital and General hospital located in City J and City J and the data were collected through survey. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 program. Mean scores were organizational commitment 3.38, nurse practice environment 2.62, and resilience index 3.45. There were significant differences on the organizational commitment index for : age, marriage, clinical experience, job satisfaction and a positive correlation between nurse practice environment and organizational commitment, between nurse practice environment and resilience index and between organizational commitment and resilience index. As a result of research, resilience partially mediated the relationship between nurse practice environment and organizational commitment. The findings suggest that in order to improve the organizational commitment of nurse, converged organizational commitment arbitration program strategies are needed to improve the nurse practice environment and resilience of nurses.

The Influence Factors on Nursing Practice by Clinical Nurses (in the COVID-19 Situation) (코로나19 상황에서 간호사의 간호업무수행 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting nursing practice of clinical nurses in the COVID-19 situation and provide basic data that could improve nursing practice in the pandemic situation. For this descriptive research, a survey was conducted to collect data from 119 clinical nurses in G City for six weeks from June 15 to July 20, 2022. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were used. The results showed that infection control practice (r=.428, p<.001) and resilience (r=.324, p<.001) were statistically significantly correlated with nursing practice. As a factor affecting nursing practice of clinical nurses, infection control practice (B=.529, p<.001) had an explanatory power of 18.3%. This result is thought to be due to the fact that COVID-19 infection control acted as a new burden on nursing work in the COVID-19 pandemic, and recovery elasticity and job stress did not have an influence. It is however necessary to help clinical nurses relieve job stress and perform high-quality nursing through regular counseling for clinical nurses suffering severe job stress.

The Effects of Emotional Intelligence, Nursing Work Environment on Nursing Work Performance in Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 감성지능과 간호근무환경이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effect of emotional intelligence, nursing work environment on nursing performance in clinical nurses. Data were collected through a self-report questionnaire for 222 subjects and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression with SPSS WIN 22.0 program. The results showed that nursing performance had significant correlations with emotional intelligence and nursing work environment. Also, the influencing factors on nursing performance were emotional intelligence, age, nursing satisfaction, nursing work environment, and nursing unit. These factors explained 50.0% of variance. Therefore, emotional intelligence, age, nursing satisfaction, nursing work environment, and nursing unit should be considered in developing and applying an nursing interventions program to improve the nursing performance among clinical nurses.

An Integrative Review of Meditation Program for Stress Relief of Nurses (국내 간호사의 스트레스완화를 위한 명상프로그램에 관한 통합적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study was to review meditation programs for stress relief of Korean nurses. Whittmore and Knafl's integrative review methods were used. The search yielded 97 articles, 7 of which met the criteria and were included in the review. One of the selected studies was a randomized controlled quasi-experimental design and six were a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Meditation programs varied from 5 to 8 sessions. All of the meditation programs measured the effect on stress as various meditation programs. However, there was one study confirming the degree of stress management maintenance after the end of the meditation program. Although there are contents to strengthen the practice and will of nurses, it was confirmed that it was difficult to evaluate sincerity. Therefore, a highly accessible program for nurses in various clinical situations and strategies to strengthen participants' practice and will needs to be included in the meditation program content.
