  • This study was conducted to examinate the mediating effect of clinical competence on the relationship between grit and retention intention among new graduate nurses. Participants were 232 nurses working at hospitals with over 300 beds in Korea. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression following the Baron and Kenny method and Sobel test for mediation. As a result, There were significant relationships between grit and clinical competence(r=.38, p=.011), grit and retention intention(r=.32, p=.016), and clinical competence and retention intention(r=.33, p<.001). Clinical competence showed partial mediating effect in the relationship between grit and retention intention(z=3.14, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that interventions enhancing grit would be useful to improve retention intention of new graduate nurses.

  • This study is a descriptive research study conducted to find out the effect of nursing students' major satisfaction and nursing professionalism on their clinical performance ability. 123 seniors in the nursing department of a university were selected as study subjects, and data were collected from October to December 2022 using a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlations, t-test, ANOVA and regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. As a result of data analysis, major satisfaction, nursing professionalism, and clinical competency were found to have a quantitative correlation, and it was analyzed that major satisfaction and nursing professionalism had a significant effect on clinical competency. Major satisfaction appeared to be the factor that had the greatest influence on clinical competency, and the explanatory power of the model was 51.9%. As a result of the study, in order to strengthen the clinical performance ability of nursing students, it is suggested to develop a nursing curriculum that can increase the major satisfaction.

  • With growing concerns about healthy life recently, although the podiatry which deals with the whole area for diagnosis, treatment of foot and leg, and prevention has been widely interested, research in our country is not active. Also, because most of the previous researches in data analysis performed the quantitative approaches, the reasonable level of reliability for clinical application could not be guaranteed. Clinical data mining utilizes various data mining analysis methods for clinical data, which provides decision support for expert's diagnosis and treatment for the patients. Because the decision tree can provide good explanation and description for the analysis procedure and is easy to interpret the results, it is simple to apply for clinical problems. This study investigate rules of item of diagnosis in disease types for adapting decision tree after collecting diagnosed data patients who are 2620 feet of 1310(males:633, females:677) in shoes clinic (department of rehabilitation medicine, Chungnam National University Hospital). and we classified 15 foot diseases followed factor of 22 foot diseases, which investigated diagnosis of 64 rules. Also, we analyzed and compared correlation relationship of characteristic of disease and factor in types through made decision tree from 5 class types(infants, child, adolescent, adult, total). Investigated results can be used qualitative and useful knowledge for clinical expert`s, also can be used tool for taking effective and accurate diagnosis.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the between nursing students simulation pratice education experience, clinical practice satisfaction, problem-solving ability, and clinical performance ability. The research design was a descriptive correlational study, and the participants were third-year nursing students. A total of 197 people were involved, including 95 students from a university with simulation training in the curriculum and 102 students from a university without simulation training in the curriculum. It was composed. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and pearson correlation were used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the study, nursing students who had experience in simulation practice education showed significant differences in clinical practice satisfaction and clinical performance ability during clinical practice. However, there was no significant difference in problem-solving ability. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a correlation between simulation training experience, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical performance ability. Based on the results of this study, it will be possible to develop and utilize simulation education programs in various situations to increase the effectiveness of clinical practice for nursing students.

  • The objectives of this study were to understand the relationship between the self-leadership of clinical nurses, nursing organizational culture and nursing performance and identify factors influencing nursing performance. Data were collected from 242 nurses working at H hospital in A Metropolitan City. Data were gatherd collected from Oct 17 to Oct 23, 2016, and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The analysis results showed that several demographic characteristics (i.e., age, marital status, educational level, position, clinical experience and clinical experience in the current department) significantly affected nursing performance. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that clinical experience in the current department and self-expectation are influencing factors in nursing performance and they explained 35.7% of the variance. In order to improve nursing performance, it is necessary to maintain the clinical experience in the current department and develop education programs for enhancing self-expectation of nurses.

  • This study was to determine differences and relations in nursing students' clinical practice stress and clinical competence by gender role identity. The study made a questionnaire survey of 450 nursing students of 2 colleges in J city, Gyeongnam, from June 1st to 30th, 2020. Data from 417 sheets were finally analyzed with descriptive statistics, χ2test, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, correlation and hierarchial regression analysis. The analysis found that most of the participants belonged to undifferentiated type(34.3%) in gender role identity. Clinical competence showed significantly different(F=20.98, p<.001), but clinical practice stress showed no significant difference depending on that identity(F=1.56, p=.199). Clinical competence had positive correlations with the index of masculinity(r=.397, p<.001) or the index of feminity(r=.325, p<.001), but had no with clinical practice stress(r=.061, p=.217). Gender role identity turned out to be a factor that would significantly influence clinical competence(F=6.67, p<.001). These findings suggest that gender role identity of nursing students should be confirmed prior to clinical practice education and, thereon, interventions for clinical competence improvement should be developed.

As a result of this study, nursing professional value of those was significantly correlated with clinical nurse's character, clinical practice stress and stress coping. In a regression analysis, nursing professional value accounted for 38.2%(F=43.973, p=.000), of the variance of clinical nurse's character and stress coping. The most significant factor affection the success of nursing professional value was stress coping(β=.508, p=.000). The result of the study indicates the importance of developing clinical nurse's character and applying variety stress coping method for positive nursing professional value of nursing students.
