For the tooth traumas of children, instant and appropriate treatment is one of the important factors to determine prognosis of traumatized teeth. Especially in case of avulsed tooth, prognosis is greatly affected by instant and appropriate emergency treatment. The objective of this survey was to investigate elementary school teachers? knowledge of first aid treatment for tooth traumas of children. We asked for 520 elementary school teachers in Busan to answer questionnaires and 455(87.5%) were returned. The result of the survey supports that knowledge of tooth is little understood except general information about the treatment of tooth traumas. And it also shows that practical treatment is poor and instruction of medical treatment is not generally known Furthermore most teachers agreed that expert education for prevention and cure of tooth traumas is necessary (81.8%) and mouth protector is also necessary (71.9%) for the prevention. The result leads to the conclusion that educations on the prevention and emergency treatment of tooth traumas of elementary children who are physically active are needed.
The purpose of this study was to strengthen the practicality of preliminary teachers in preparation for future education, to respond to structural changes in the teacher training system due to a decrease in the school-age population, and to seek a future-oriented direction for the curriculum of teacher training institutions. To this end, we analyzed the competency diagnosis items of the teacher training institutes in the 5th cycle from 2019 to 2020, and based on the proposal for the development plan for the teacher training system announced by the Ministry of Education in July 2021 and the contents of the 4 discussions, content was presented. The results were as follows. First, to nurture creative and convergence-type talents, teacher training institutions need to develop multi-curricular competency and reorganize the curriculum into a future-oriented curriculum. Second, in order to foster the competence of teachers and preliminary teachers in teacher training institutions, it is essential to strengthen the competence of teachers through the introduction of the metaverse, general teaching methods, and ICT-using teaching methods. Third, teachers' training institutions will introduce and strengthen the 'education practice teacher homeroom system' to strengthen school field-oriented practical competencies, 'dedicated mentor-mentee' centered on seniors and juniors, 'monitoring system' led by university professors, and 'probationary teacher system'

The purpose of this study was to find out various problem behaviors of children who were not diagnosed with any disability, but instead, engaged in problem behaviors. This study also intended to review the difficulties of children with problem behaviors, their teachers' difficulties and needs, to suggest support for child care and education teachers. This study conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews with eight child care and education teachers. The interviews were transcribed into text and analyzed by contents. The results of this study are as follows. Problem behaviors of children described by teachers were classified into external and internal types. In addition, children with problem behaviors had experienced difficulties in maintaining relationships with their teachers, peers and parents. Many teachers were not successful to provide appropriate support for preschoolers who demonstrated problem behaviors in classrooms or some teachers provided individualized support. Teachers adapted the behavioral and the psychological approaches to problem behaviors of preschoolers. However, teachers reported difficulties with children with problem behavior and brought up the following issues on teaching children with problem behaviors; managing troubled matters happening in the class, difficulty in controlling teacher's emotions on problem behaviors, the lack of time, the integrated child care time without teacher in charge of child, the interruption in activity progress, the lack of a special way to deal with problem behaviors, and difficulty in cooperation with families through parents-teacher counseling sessions. Teachers counseled with parents who had a child with problem behaviors and revealed that parents reacted to problem behaviors in various ways such as embarrassment, acceptance, ignorance, or avoidance. Most teachers received assistance and support for teaching children with problem behaviors, from families, local communities and in-service training. Lastly, teachers with preschoolers with problem behaviors needed the support of experts on managing behavior problems, assistant teaching personnel, education for parents and teachers, respects for teachers, psychological counseling or play therapy from professional service agencies, diagnosis service at child care and education centers which children attended, and support networking with agencies. Teachers also required the family support of medical diagnosis and psychological counseling and financial support from the government.
Purposes: The objective of this study was to develop a management program for Korean elementary school students suffering from asthma, which would be based on the Australian Asthma-Friendly Schools (AFS) program. Methods: On the basis of the AFS program, we designed a 6-month pilot project for asthmatic students in two elementary schools in a rural area and one elementary school in an urban area of Korea. The pilot project consisted of the following processes: identifying students with asthma in a school, educating school staffs and the parents of an asthmatic child, registering those with asthma, and installing emergency kits for asthma attacks in school health rooms. In order to evaluate these processes, group discussions were held between project team members and school staffs in each area. In addition, we conducted a postal survey of 144 households having an asthmatic child. Results: The screening process adopted in this program resulted in the early diagnosis in asthma; however, it needs to be evaluated economically due to expensive diagnostic test for asthma. For the school nurses, asthma lessons were evaluated as being very helpful for their tasks, while teachers tended to take less interest in the program with only 45% of all teachers attending these lessons. Almost all participating parents reported that such lessons would be beneficial for the care of their child, even though only 24.2% of the survey respondents (122 households) attended the lessons. Installing emergency kits in school health rooms was regarded as a key feature of this project. The introduction of a register card containing more specific health records of asthmatic students was considered necessary to replace the existing list of students with asthma. Conclusion: This study has merit in that a Korean asthma-friendly schools program was developed for the first time, despite the many obstacles to such programs becoming more common.
Peer relationships in young students' communities are one of the important factors influencing the cognitive and affective domains of learning. Moreover, students who join the special program for gifted students possess differential peer relationships from the students in general classes. This study aims to explore the differences of 5th grade five science-gifted students' peer relationships between students in special classes for gifted students and general classes. Five students in the special program for gifted students, managed by the Office of Education in a southern city, participated in this study. Social network analyses were utilized to explore participants' peer relationships; the students' homeroom teacher was interviewed to explore the contextual and in-depth characteristics of gifted students' peer relationships. The results illustrated four cases of peer relationships: (1) smart loner (2) my study mate (3) I'm the best in my class, and (4) a good friend anywhere. This study identified that the gifted students possessed diverse peer relationships in both the special program and general classroom. In addition, this study suggests that the program for gifted students needs to be specially designed based on the gifted students' peer relationship.
In this study, we will analyze the classroom space of elementary schools that have implemented the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 'Dream Classroom' project and identify satisfaction and needs in terms of users. Primary school was selected and the composition and color of space was investigated by the present ministerial inspection. The survey was conducted on homeroom teachers and analyzed as SPSS/WIN Statistical Programme 22.0. The satisfaction level of space elements was verified by the technical statistical analysis, the general classroom and the 'classroom with dreams' difference in response t-test, the need for planning elements (criticality), and the difference in satisfaction with one way ANOVA. The space had the most separate, primary-colored classrooms. They preferred emotional factors and bright and light atmosphere for the lower grades, and the soft and soft atmosphere for the middle and high school students. The school preferred communication space with the community, proper play and relaxation space for the complex type of classroom. This will help set the direction for elementary school classroom space planning during the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Objectives:This study was designed for testing of Eating Attitude Test for Korean adolescents (EAT-26KA) on internal reliability and test-retest reliability and evaluation of each items through factor analysis. Methods:Total 1,160 middle and high school students were surveyed on June 1996. The questionnaire had been delivered by school teachers two weeks earlier before survey started. Among the 1,160 students, 114 students were selected by random. And then they were retested with same questionnaire on July 1996, four weeks later Result:Internal consistency of EAT-26KA was relatively good(Cronbach’s ${\alpha}$ =.83). There was statistically significance on test-retest reliability(r=.63 p<.01). But two items showed negative correlations(item No. 9, 17). and 5 items had low level correlation(p>.05, item No. 2, 6, 12, 21, 24). We performed factor analysis on whole items except No. 25 item. Result of factor analysis showed that the factor structure of EAT-26KA were different from that of EAT-26. Conclusion:The EAT-26KA is useful for the survey of the eating behavior and problems in Korean adolescents.
