  • This paper presents how to establish an efficient e-Learning environment using open source software. A LMS with additional functionalities on the top of dotLRN. which is a open source project for LMS, is presented. Additional functionalities include modification of the language for Korean, adoption of SCORM educational standard, and management of learning outcome. This system had been serviced for Kongju cyber university for one year on stable basis. The scope of this paper covers introduction, characteristics review, and the learner's learning outcome analysis.

  • 1856년 7월 7일 영국에서 에드워드 찰스 힐리와 에드워드 엘리스 알렌 (Edward Charles Healey & Edward Ellis Allen)에 의해 골판지가 처음 발명되었고, 15년후인 1871년 12월 19일에 현재의 골판지상자 형태의 특허가 미국의 알버트 L. 존스(Albert. L. Jones)에게 취득 된지 130여년이상이 지난 이 시대에는 실로 다양한 분야에서 골판지를 사용하고 있지만, 주 사용분야는 포장산업의 분야이다. 과거에는 포장의 주목적은 첫째 포장 내용물(상품)의 보호 둘째 상품의 운송과 적재 및 취급의 편리성 셋째 상품 구매동기 유발의 순서이었으나 최근에는 첫째와 둘째의 목적은 필수불가결한 것이고 세번째의 상품 구매동기 유발의 목적에 더 큰 비중이 있는 추세이다. 따라서 포장재의 규격은 생산자의 입장에서는 보다 단순해지고 규격화 되는 것이 생산코스트의 절감과 생산성 향상의 지름길이지만 (그러나 더욱 복잡해지고 비규격화 되는 것이 제품 부가가치가 더 높을 수도 있기 때문에 여기에는 보다 신중한 판단이 필요하다)각종 통신기술, 인터넷과 I.T산업의 발달과 더불어 소비자가 언제라도 상품의 다양한 정보에 쉽게 접할 수 있는 이시대에는, 다양한 소비계층의 NEED를모두 만족시켜 줄려고 하는 상품 개발자의 제품설계 및 개발과 판매전략에 의해 더욱 더 상품은 다양해지고 이에 따라서 포장재의 형태도 더욱 다양해지고 복잡해지고 있다. (필자의 판단으로는 앞으로 보다 더 다양해지고 복잡해지고 있는 추세이다.) 즉 다시 말하면 이러한 다양한 형태의 포장재의 변화를 수용하여, 가장 높은 가격 경쟁력으로, 적시에 가장 빠르게 생산하며 공급할 수 있는 능력을 갖춘 포장재 제조업자 만이 미래에는 적자생존 할 수 있다는 결론이다.

  • 멀티캐스트 응용을 다루는 기존의 많은 네트워킹 솔루션들은 특정한 트랜스포트 기술에 기반을 두고 있기 때문에 인터넷, ATM과 같은 하부 트랜스포트 네트워크에 따라 서로 다른 접근 방법을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 여러트랜스포트 네트워크에 적용 가능한 새로운 멀티캐스트 서비스 구조(MSA: Multicast Service Architecture)를 제안한다. MSA는 기존의 트랜스포트 네트워크 프로토콜들이 연결제어를 위하여 그대로 사용될수 있도록 설계되어 최소한의 변경으로 기존 트랜스포트 네트워크 상에서 운용될 수 있다. MSA는 트랜스포트 네트워크에 독립적으로 다양한 멀티미디어 멀티캐스트 응용들을 수용할 수 있으며 망 중심의 통신관리체계를 규정한다. MSA는 여러 가지 개념들을 도입하여 유연하고 확장성 있는 통신관리를 지원하는데 특히 호/연결제어 기능을 단말로부터 분리하여 정의함으로써 원격제어와 제어의 이동성을 지원할 수 있다. 따라서 사용자는 보다 다양한 방법으로 멀티미디어 멀티캐스트 서비스를 이용할 수있게된다. 또한 단말관리자와 가상 디바이스 개념을 도입하여 응용 개발자가 트랜스포트 네트워크나 물리적 디바이스의 상세한 특성을 모르더라도 응용을 설계할 수 있도록하였다. MSA를 구성하는 여러개의 서비스 컴포넌트들은 미들웨어 상에서 동작한다. 우리는 시뮬레이션을 통하여 MSA를 분석하였다.

  • As the Internet has been a daily instrument of our lives, the numbers of Internet users are increasing rapidly. Especially, we have to pay special attention to about rapid increasing of juvenile users. In the 1990's, Kids are growing up literally surrounded by new technologies and mu1timedia experiences. For these kids, most of the techno1ologies that we adults find surprising or even incredible are a part of their everyday landscape, a fact of life. Currently, only few of research and discussion has gone into understanding this field. And most of these web sites, set importance on furnishing information only. So educational characters of web are not manifested fully as well as children soon get board with learning with Internet so that feel difficulties in searching and accepting information. At this point, we must try to develop educational sites Not only to show information but also to offer a rich and entertaining time for kids while providing playful teaming and increased technological fluency. Fer this purpose, Web site should be all about combining play with learning. Site navigation should be easy and the pages load quickly. The page download time is also being considerable, which could send kids withy mouse-fingers looking for entertainment elsewhere. Everything about the site must have a familiar feel, uses adequate colors to be satisfied with the juveniles. Multimedia can help the communications in the websites. To maximize the educational effect, technological research and continues invest are need, in addition to usability test.

  • Considering the continuous increase of teenagers' Internet use and the high rate of their participation in online communities, educators need to devote efforts to minimize the negative function of teenagers' Internet use and to guide them to experience positive aspects of Internet. Through activities in online communities, teenagers can experience various socialities and explore their self-consciousness. However, on the other hand many communities do not provide teenagers with considerate care. This may cause conflict in their sense of value and mislead them. Through this study, online learning community is designed and developed, which can reflect teenagers' various needs and connect their needs with learning experiences. The community consists of the following categories: 'about e-Tivity'(community vision, general information, list of activities, Q&A), 'activity space for teens'(event hall, data park, e-Tivity center), 'administrative space for teachers and managers'(research room, management room), and 'teen's private space'(my room, my avatar).

  • In this paper, we studied on the building models of open educational resource service system for download or upload their own educational content to be shared with the others without worrying about copyright infringement. We first analyzed the building models of the international OER(Open Educational Resource) service sites. And then, based on these results, we present the new service models suitable to be built the open educational resource service system in phases. The proposed models have the flexibility to accommodate the needs of users and have the advantage that the copyright-related issues of the existing 'National Educational Information Sharing System' could be solved step by step.

Antecedents of Trust and Effects on Committment in B2B e-Marketplace (B2B 마켓플레이스에서 신뢰의 선행요인과 몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • As the interest in the business-to-business(B2B) electronic commerce is increasing, many companies are participating in the B2B e-Marketplaces. The e-Marketplace is defined as the virtual market that many players take part in to transact. The e-Marketplace has an influenced on the manner in which organizational buyers and sellers interact. As a result, it is important to develop an understanding of the behaviors of firms that use these electronic marketplaces. The purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive model for trust and commitment of B2B e-Marketplace and empirically to examine their structural relationships. Drawing from trust and commitment theory in the interorganizational relationship and B2B electronic commerce context, this study identifies network externality, interactivity, justice, quality of information sharing, institutional assurance as the determinants of trust and commitment of e-Marketplace. The proposed model hypothesized that (1) trust is a function of network externality, interactivity, justice, quality of information sharing, institutional assurance, (2) attitudinal and behavioral commitment is a function of trust, (3) behavioral commitment is a function of attitudinal commitment. The proposed model is tested using organizational-level survey data from 187 buying organizations that conduct business in MRO e-Marketplaces. The data were tested by reliability test, correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and covariance structure analysis. The results indicate that (1) trust is influenced by network externality, interactivity, justice, institutional assurance, (2) attitudinal commitment and behavioral commitment is influenced by trust (3) behavioral commitment is influenced by attitudinal commitment. Also, the empirical results confirmed that trust play a strong, central role in determinging e-Marketplace commitment. The key theoretical contribution of this research is that it begins to extend interorganizational information system literature in areas such as B2B Internet e-Marketplace. Managerially, this study contributes tn the understanding of the role of B2B e-Markeplace providers in Internet situation. And Limitations of this study and guidelines for future researches are also discussed.

  • This study was undertaken to better understand the utilization practice of mass media, and to suggest the food and nutrition information provided to mass media by researchers on the utilization, satisfaction, and demand of acquired nutrition information. The provision of cooking methods and menu introduction related to the training subjects at the same time as when food nutrition information is discusse by mass media, including TV and internet, would be helpful to enhance the acquisition and utilization rates of the information among the public. It was found that food nutrition information should be activated for general public using objective and professional public institutions or web-pages so as to resolve dissatisfaction levels felt by the public with regard to exaggerated claims. At the same time, it is required to continue to maintain interesting and various information supply highlighting the characteristics of mass media when performing food nutrition information. In addition, it is also necessary for media practitioners concerned to investigate thoroughly and improve any inconvenient factors that the public experiences when they receive the nutrition information through the mass media.

A Study of the Impact of Portal News Use on Traditional Media: among College Students (포털 뉴스 이용이 전통 미디어 이용에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 대학생 집단을 중심으로)

  • Amid the rapid growth in use of portal news, this study examined whether portal news would substitute traditional news media, in particular newspapers and television news. To answer the research question, this study attempted to investigate how the decrease in use of traditional news media was associated with online news use, reliance on, and motivations for portal news. First, this study found that there was a negative and significant relationship between the Internet use and television news viewing, suggesting that those who are more likely to use the Internet are less likely to watch television news programs. Also, portal news was negatively associated with time spent with newspaper reading, while it was not related to television news viewing. Second, this study found that convenience/information-seeking needs appeared as the major motivations for using portal news, which were negatively and significantly associated with the decreased time spent with watching television news programs. In other words, those who used portal news for convenience/information-seeking needs are less likely to watch television news programs, which may indicate that portal news could be a substitute for television news in terms of convenience/information-seeking motivations. In addition, the result of this study showed that there was a complementary relationship between portal news and newspapers in terms of surveillance needs. Those findings could be explained by the concept of "functional similarity" in the process of media substitution. Based on the findings, implications of this study were discussed.

Type of Political Influences of UCC (UCC의 정치적 영향 유형)

  • With the development of media technology, UCC actively working through the medium of the Net, the Internet space, which can influence politics instead of TV is drawing attention as the new leading media. As the one-sided media influence of TV is dwindling in the times of the Internet, the hegemony of the media is rapidly changing into UCC marked by two-way interaction. Especially, UCC has the characteristic that it has changed the people performing a role as the receptor of the media into the agent of enormous political influence as well as the freshness specific to its contents. This study was intended to investigate the types of diverse political influences of UCC in political practice as well as daily politics with a focus on the fact that it can newly project the world led by the media and their changes and exercise strong power in changing the society. Therefore, it attempted to investigate the political influence and ripple effect that UCC can exert by attempting to analyze what political influence UCC can exercise at diverse political situations including election. As a result, UCC led to four situations such as incentive-exploding type, issue-leading type, dispersion-switching type, direction-obeying type. This can be said to lead to the positive effect at the political field, such as implementing direct democracy through digital technology.
