A Case Study on the Effect of Calculus Class in the Cyber University (가상대학에서 미적분학 수업의 효과에 관한 사례연구)

  • Most Universities in Korea begins the cyber lectures using multimedia which is supported by KRF or University. Recently, the government and universities support also a fund on these cultural contents. However, the effect and result of these lectures don't know anything now. We investigate the effect and point out the problems of the cyber lecture in the Engineering class via questionaire. We also give a suggestion on the solution in this problem.

  • 현대 산업 구조가 고도 정보화 사회로 바뀌어 나아감에 따라 효율적인 교육방법에 대한 요구는 점점 커져가고 있으며, 이러한 현실에서 인터넷을 이용하여 수업을 진행하는 사이버강좌는 교육부분에 일대 혁신을 일으킬 수 있는 대안으로 여겨지고 있다. 전통적으로 강의실에서 강의를 진행하는 수업형태와 다르게 사이버 강좌는 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않으며, 반복학습이 용이하고, 음성 및 통영상 등의 멀티미디어 활용이 용이하여 강의실 수업 못지 않은 수업효과를 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 특히 급속한 사회 환경의 변화는 교수, 학습 파라다임의 변화를 일으키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 천안대학교 온$\cdot$오프라인강좌의 실태 및 현황을 살펴보고 수업의 질을 높이기 위한 개선방안을 고찰하여 본다.

  • 지금까지 컴퓨터를 강의실상에서의 교육의 보조 수단만 사용해 왔던 일 방향적인 교육의 제한적 메카니즘이 인터넷을 통한 쌍방향 통신과 공간상의 제약을 뛰어넘은 적극적이고 다양한 교육전달의 시도가 이제 현실화되고 있다. 따라서 첨단 정보통신 기술의 발전과 교육 시스템을 위한 인터넷 등의 네트워크를 기반으로 하는 원격교육에서는 새로운 교육의 변화에 따라 시, 공간의 제약을 벋어난 가상교육 또는 원격 교육을 현실화 할 수 있는 중추적인 기반 구조 및 통합 시스템을 제공해야 하며 이 시스템이 제공하게 되는 중심적인 기능성은 실제 강의실 수업형태와 같은 효과 이상의 교육환경을 제공해야 하는 것이다. 이러한 총체적인 원격교육을 위한 통합 시스템은 다양한 요소들로 구성된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터와 인터넷을 통해 원격 학습서비스를 제공하는 가상스쿨 구축의 기반을 이루는 학습컨텐츠 저작 시스템, 학습자 학습진행 프로그램 둥을 연구, 개발하였다. 또한 XML 에 기반한 SMIL을 멀티미디어들의 통합과 다양한 미디어들의 동기화를 표현하는 기술을 이용하여 표준적이고 확장성이 높은 컨텐츠를 저작툴을 개발하였다.

  • This paper discusses a design of intelligent controller with time delay for Internet-based remote control. The finite Markovian process is adopted to model the input delay of the overall control system. It is assumed that the zero and hold devices are used for control input. The Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system with uncertain input delay is utilized to represent nonlinear plant. The continuous-time T-S fuzzy system with the Markovian input delay is discretized for easy handling delay, accordingly, the discretized T-S fuzzy system is represented by a discrete-time T-S fuzzy system with jumping parameters. The robust stochastic stabilizibility of the jump T-S fuzzy system is derived and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). An experimental results is provided to visualize the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • Cyber university can easily study the lecture only press the couple of mouse click or keyboard button anywhere and anytime, if you have a computer. Many people believe that virtual university can save time and improve learning. To check How many students learn which selected some of the virtual university courses, instructor must know how to the understanding students and find out their difficult problems. Without checking this condition, it will be a very difficult and boring virtual university course. In this paper, we introduce the intelligent learning system. It has a full duplex direction that teaches understanding students and not understanding students. The computer simulation results confirmed that a full duplex virtual learning system has been proven to be much more efficient than one way direction which unfortunately does not consider to understanding problems.

The Development of Editor for Web Authoring Tool (웹 저작도구를 위한 에디터 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop editor applied to vector image for the distance learning system(FVU), which enables teachers effectively to construct self-page on the screen, to reduce the size of file for teaching, and to correct many different kinds of event which was already made in the previous, The design of the editor is used UML and the editor is named VUEditor. The first page which is needed in class can be constructed by using VUEditor. The contents using VUEditor ore exported into VUAuthor through Vector-transformation. Through this procedure, the size of image file comes to be reduced, it has a low bond width. In conclusion, this VUEditor enables user to construct the first page. even without using such applied program as Image Tool and Power Point, to solve the problem of network traffic for reducing size of the file.

  • If the C++ programming class, an object-oriented language capable of modeling similar to the real world, is developed as a curriculum that introduces the flipped learning model, students' active problem-solving skills can be cultivated. In this subject development case, it is significant that the flipped learning technique was applied to the programming class and was effective in improving students' active problem-solving skills. First, the lectures in the 4th session were divided into Pre-Class, In-Class, and Post-Class, and the class was conducted in a way that suggested class goals suitable for the subject and formed a team to discuss. At the end of the lecture, a follow-up survey was conducted to check whether the learners learned effectively.

Design and Evaluation of a Gateway to Faculty Syllabi in Computer Science (인터넷 대학강의안 전산학분야 메타데이터 시스템 구축 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate a metadata system for internet-based syllabi in computer science. The study constructed two prototype systems for the experiment. One was constructed using only Dubline Core (DC) elements and the other was a DC-expanded system with additional eight elements that are not the part of DC elements. The thlrty subjects were chosen from those who majored in Computer Science. Two retrieval tasks were assigned to them. One was to find syllabi in which they are' interested and the other was to find relevant course syllabi for a given course title. After the search, they were asked to evaluate the systems in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and their satisfaction of the system. The result of the first experiment indicates that DC-based system performed significantly better in terms of search time and DC-expanded system in terms of satisfaction measure. An additional experiment was conducted to test efficiency of the browsing categories. The interview with subjects was carried out to find any difficulties associated with the current browsing scheme. The subjects expressed much1 satisfaction about assigning a course to multiple browsing categories.

  • Modern society is rapidly changing by the Internet, and it is getting influential on the field of education. Learners can learn what they want to learn actively and freely at their desired level at anywhere in their free time by using the internet. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to find out the methods for improving writing ability through e-learning. The results of the study are as follows: First, learners can attend a lecture to improve their writing ability and can get learning materials from on-line course sites, internet websites, communities and blogs. Second, e-learning is learner-centered education, so it stimulates learners learning motivation and interest. Third, learners have an opportunity to express their ideas freely, and they can gain cultural comprehension while they communicate with people in the world by e-mail and chatting.
