  • This study examines the extent to which the differences in perceptions regarding principles of journalism and political identity between journalists and their news organizations are related to journalists' psychological burnout. To understand this, this study analyzes the secondary data of the 2017 South Korean journalists' consciousness conducted by the Korean Press Foundation. Psychological burnout consists of three subdimensions of MBI-GS: cynicism, lack of professional efficacy, and exhaustion. The differences in perceptions regarding the principles of journalism between journalists and their affiliated news organizations is measured by the differences in each of the seven reporting principles. This study found that the larger the difference in the perception of objectivity between journalists and their affiliated news organizations, the more likely they were to experience cynicism, lack of professional efficacy, and exhaustion. The greater the difference in political identity between journalists and their own organization, the more likely they were to have greater cynicism and exhaustion.

  • To resolve the problem that multicultural people in Korea suffer from difficulties especially with prejudice and discrimination, it is necessary to raise the cultural diversity in communities in Korea through cultivating multicultural awareness among non-multicultural people. In this vein, public libraries, as cultural exchange institutes, can affect multicultural awareness of the people. This study investigated how characteristics of public libraries and their local communities are related to the users' multicultural awareness. The study found that multicultural awareness of library users was significantly influenced by the characteristics of public libraries but not by the characteristics of communities. It is suggested that public libraries should consider cultural diversity on overall library services for their general users to support their multicultural awareness.

The Subjects are 133 pre-service secondary school teachers. As an indicator of environmental perceptions, the modified New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) instrument was used. This modified NEP instrument consists of four dimensions: the negative results of growth and technology, relation of humankind and nature, quality of life, and limits of biosphere. The results of this study suggested that a majority of pre-service secondary teachers held ecological environmental perceptions. They also had a similar environmental perception to education major. However, there were significant differences in environmental perceptions and the variables of education experience on environment-related subjects. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that environment-related subjects. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that environmental education be a mandatory course in education programs.

  • Two experiments were conducted to test effects of ethnicity and gender of face stimuli and lineup procedure on face recognition. In experiment 1, all stimuli were frontal male pictures of Southeast Asian and Northeast Asian. It was tested that whether accuracy of face recognition improve when ethnicity of participant and stimulus was identical (own-ethnicity advantage). In experiment 2, the 'own-gender advantage' was tested using images of Northeast Asian's frontal male and female faces. All participants were Northeast Asian. The results showed that the own-ethnicity advantage or the effect of line-up procedure was not found, but accuracy of face recognition was high when target face was Southeast Asian. Interestingly, the own-gender advantages was observed in only case of female participants. It was discussed that face recognition could be affected by attention.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore players' perception and emotional reaction toward referee's judgment. The participants of this study were six players (three male and three female) in 2016 national team. The results of this study are as follows: First, the differences in referee judgement were dependant on referees' subjective view point, rapid judging capability, qualification and experience. Second, we found that the a referee's judgement less affected match's results. The countermeasures against the adverse referee judgment include excitement, appeal, flow interruption, thought conversion, and concentration. Third, there were many opinions that both the degree of influence of the referee's judgement and the countermeasures was such that athletes were "not affected". In conclusion, the major determinant of players' performance were game strategy and accuracy of skill although the referee's judgement affected player's emotional reaction both in positive and negative ways.

  • This study tried to investigate the differences between auditory preferences for a discrimination study of minimal pairs with the different onset and the same nucleus of a syllable on the basis of articulator-distance in case of Korean infants and toddlers. As a result we found a main effect for articulator-distance and age but not an effect according to the types of phonation especially in terms of tense. Former results are line with the previous studies having reported the order of consonants acquisition based on the places of articulation suggesting that more sensitive responses for the contiguous and different phonemes may lead earlier acquisition for the same place of articulation of the speech sounds. Specifically, bilabial soudns are followed by alveolar and palatal sounds in order. The latter results also showed that tense consonants got a high rate of recognition beside lax consonants according to the age and sex.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand various theories of cognitions of mathematics and to compare the difference between students in mathematics education and professors who teach them in their cognition of mathematics. For this purpose, a survey of 'cognitions of mathematics' was done to the students(future teachers) and professors who taught them in the capital area, and the results was statistically analyzed. It shows that professors have almost all of things in common with students in their cognitions of mathematics except some issues such as 'there are usually more than one way to solve mathematical tasks and problems,' or 'It is indispensible for mathematics to be definitional rigor,' which are statistically significant. Many theoretical and empirical grounds were supported for the differences in their responses. The study has, eventually, given valuable suggestions to lead people's attitudes and cognitions of mathematics to a deeper level.

  • In this paper, we study the recognition of in-service teachers and pre-service teachers about the concepts of liner equations and liner functions. We chose 49 in-service teachers at secondary schools in G city and 29 pre-service teachers in M university and investigate their recognition about the concepts of liner equations and liner functions. We found following facts. First, in-service teachers and pre-service teachers tend to recognize a linear equation as an equation in one known rather than an equation in two unknowns. Second, in-service teachers and pre-service teachers tend to recognize a linear function as an explicit function rather than an implicit function. Finally, the difference between in-service teachers' recognition and pre-service teachers' recognition is not statistically significant.

Second, both public and private social workers' perception of professionalism had an effect on job commitment and job performance. In other words, the higher the recognition of professionalism, the higher the job commitment and performance of both private and public sector workers. Third, workers in the private sector were higher in both job commitment and job performance than those in public institutions.
