Methods for Video Caption Extraction and Extracted Caption Image Enhancement (영화 비디오 자막 추출 및 추출된 자막 이미지 향상 방법)

  • For an efficient indexing and retrieval of digital video data, research on video caption extraction and recognition is required. This paper proposes methods for extracting artificial captions from video data and enhancing their image quality for an accurate Hangul and English character recognition. In the proposed methods, we first find locations of beginning and ending frames of the same caption contents and combine those multiple frames in each group by logical operation to remove background noises. During this process an evaluation is performed for detecting the integrated results with different caption images. After the multiple video frames are integrated, four different image enhancement techniques are applied to the image: resolution enhancement, contrast enhancement, stroke-based binarization, and morphological smoothing operations. By applying these operations to the video frames we can even improve the image quality of phonemes with complex strokes. Finding the beginning and ending locations of the frames with the same caption contents can be effectively used for the digital video indexing and browsing. We have tested the proposed methods with the video caption images containing both Hangul and English characters from cinema, and obtained the improved results of the character recognition.

  • 전광판을 통해 이미지를 표시할 때 이미지를 구성하는 각 화소에 대응하는 도트들 별로, 모두 일정한 밝기로 색상을 출력하기 때문에 이미지 내에 다양한 색상이 포함되어 있는 경우, 상대적으로 밝은 색상이 어두운 색상보다 더 밝게 보이는 문제를 가지고 있다. 또한 기존의 전광판들은 전광판을 통해 글자를 표시할 때 글자의 크기에 관계없이 모두 일정한 밝기로 글자를 표시하기 때문에 상대적으로 작은 글자가 큰 글자에 비해 잘 보이지 않는 문제가 있다. 우리는 전광판을 통해 이미지를 표시할 때, 해당 이미지 내의 다양한 색상들에 따라 부분적으로 전광판의 각 도트들의 휘도를 서로 다르게 출력하고, 전광판을 통해 글자를 표시할 때, 글자의 크기 별로 휘도를 서로 다르게 출력함으로써, 전광판을 통해 표시되는 정보에 대한 가독성을 향상시킬 수 있는 RICS 시스템을 설계한다.

WebCL-based Very High Resolution Image Processing Technology (WebCL 기반 초고해상도 이미지 처리 기술)

  • In this paper, we are going to describe the performance characteristic of very high resolution image processing with WebCL on the web environment. In order to evaluate the variance of the execution time by WebCL, we modified the Pixastic library, one of the most representative image processing libraries written in JavaScript, by using WebCL. We achieved a speedup of up to 4.2 times and 2.8 times on average against the original one for the image of 8K Ultra HD with the WebCL-based library.

  • 초고전압 투과전자현미경으로부터 생산된 2D 이미지들에는 고전압(1250 kV)의 사용으로 인한 다양한 노이즈가 발생한다. 따라서 2D 이미지로부터 3D tomogram으로 재구성시 선명도 향상을 위하여 2D 이미지의 노이즈 제거 과정은 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 band-pass filtering 기법을 활용하여 노이즈를 상당 부분 제거하였고, 필터링된 이미지로부터 3D tomogram으로 재구성한 경우 band-pass filtering의 효과가 2D 이미지에서 뿐만아니라 3D tomogram으로 재구성 했을 경우에 어떤 대역의 filter radius를 적용해야 더욱 효과가 크다는 사실을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 황반변성 진단 모델 개발을 위해 안저 사진을 이용한 MobileNet2 전이학습 모델 개발과 안정적인 모델 성능을 위한 이미지 증강 방법 및 모델 성능 향상을 위한 파라미터 조정 방법을 제안한다. 보유하고 있는 이미지의 수가 매우 적다고 하더라도 적절한 전이학습 모델을 사용하고 이미지 증강 시 증강 방법과 증강한 이미지와 정상 이미지와의 비율을 적절히 고려할 경우 충분히 안정적인 결과를 얻어낼 수 있다. 또한 파라미터 조정을 통해서 성능 향상을 도모할 수 있다

An Adaptive Image Enhancement Algorithms Using Saturation Improvement (채도 향상을 이용한 적응형 화질 개선 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive image enhancement algorithm. The proposed algorithm is classified with the MIE technique for intensity enhancement of input image and MSE techniques for saturation enhancement. The MIE technique is proposed to control the gamut mapping problem and a sudden change in image-brightness while Luminance signal is processing, The MSE techniques are proposed to control de-saturation or over-saturation while chrominance signal is processing. The proposed algorithm is focused on processing preference color for human vision in order to generate better image quality than the algorithms focused on processing uniformly to whole images, This algorithm can be applied to a monitor, TV and other display devices for high quality image.

Design and Implementation of Personal Information Identification and Masking System Based on Image Recognition (이미지 인식 기반 향상된 개인정보 식별 및 마스킹 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently, with the development of ICT technology such as cloud and mobile, image utilization through social networks is increasing rapidly. These images contain personal information, and personal information leakage accidents may occur. As a result, studies are underway to recognize and mask personal information in images. However, optical character recognition, which recognizes personal information in images, varies greatly depending on brightness, contrast, and distortion, and Korean recognition is insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement a personal information identification and masking system based on image recognition through deep learning application using CNN algorithm based on optical character recognition method. Also, the proposed system and optical character recognition compares and evaluates the recognition rate of personal information on the same image and measures the face recognition rate of the proposed system. Test results show that the recognition rate of personal information in the proposed system is 32.7% higher than that of optical character recognition and the face recognition rate is 86.6%.

  • For a long time, we have been good at the static image, 'the country of calm morning' as reminding Korea. But, it became a chance that we were recognized newly and actively through the success of the Olympic games in 1988 and World cup games in 2002 all over the world. And foreigners' interest and expectation for Korea becomes much higher by these reasons. Moreover, the importance of our cultural industry, recognition for new cultural improvement have been changing step by step by the oriental trend in Asia in these days. So, this study intends to realize the Korean symbol with showing Korean Identity and its image's applying to the street furniture design through the making of special street which expresses well the Korean Image. There is a purpose of this study not to use as just street furniture but to make characterized Korean culture through showing examples which are based on Korean culture. The way of the improvement for the street furniture design using Korean image are these we analyze the character of Korean international image with the previous data for the change of Korean Image. We understand the symbol of changed Korean international Image, and extract the design elements. We analogize the shape, material and color image of the street furniture which is joined with both the Korean national image and formative traditional elements. At last, we formalize its symbolic image by applying to the street furniture according to the design improvement process with the analogized image. The formal study using Korean image makes more cleary the Korean Identity, and it doesn't influence only the actual change but also Korean cultural value equipment.

Methodologies to Improve Emotional Image Qualities by Optimizing Technological Image Quality Metrics (기술적인 화질 지표 조절양 최적화를 통한 감성 화질 향상 방안)

  • Emotional image quality optimization methodologies are investigated using technological image quality controls based on the eye tests of various image samples. The images are evaluated based on various contrast, lightness and saturation image quality metric tone curves. The order of importance to image quality enhancements is contrast, saturation and brightness. The slopes of emotional image qualities with respect to technical image quality metric changes are found to be composed of mathematical function modelling with nearly zero, intermediate and maximum slope regions in general, which can reflect well known log and saturated as well as conventional reverse U shape natures. Image quality improvements are analyzed not only with just single but also with multiple image quality metrics. To ease the unified image quality metric analysis and control, a new function is presented to utilize both the newly found and conventional emotional image quality behaviors. It is found that the overall image quality enhancement can be realized only in a few limited cases of multiple image quality metric controls. It is also found that the kinds of image quality enhancement methodologies are not strongly dependent on image contents (genre).

A Study of the Determinants of Image and Loyalty on the Virtual Storefront (가상점포의 이미지결정요인과 충성도에 과한 연구)

  • Recently, the role of Internet becomes wide so that it could provide the information among users as well as the opportunity to make commercial transactions in the cyberspace. Now, the virtual storefronts are the virtual space where anyone makes a profit on Internet by selling and buying goods/services. Therefore, it is important to develop the good image for cyberconsumers so that virtual storefronts can attract many browser to buy goods. The study reported examines how combination of specific elements in the internet environment influence cyberconsumers' inferences about the virtual storefront and discusses the extent to which these inferences mediate the virtual storefront loyalty. Results show that the virtual storefront elements were posited to be antecedents of virtual storefront image rather than components of virtual storefront image. In addition, the virtual storefront image mediators the satisfaction and loyalty of cyberconsumer on virtual storefront.
