This study aims at checking up influences imposed on mathematics learning abilities in communication teaching through small group leaning for the sixth grade pupils of elementary schools. Results obtained through the study are as follow: The communication teaching through small group cooperative learning showed an affirmative reaction in terms of mathematics learning achievement degree and mathematical tendency. However, the pupils of the lower group showed a meager effect in terms of mathematics learning achievement degree. It means that such an effect is required to a sustained teaching for a long time by teachers.
In this study, we analyzed a mathematical discussion in the Calculus II course of the Gifted Science Academy and individual interviews to determine the relationship between cognitive conflicts and commognitive conflicts. The mathematical discussion began with a question from a student who seemed to have a cognitive conflict about the osculating plane of a space curve. The results indicated that the commognitive conflicts were resolved by ritualizing and using the socially constructed knowledge, but cognitive conflicts were not resolved. Furthermore, we found that the cause of the cognitive conflict resulted from the student's imperfect analogical reasoning and the reflective discourse about it could be a learning opportunity for overcoming the conflict. These findings imply that cognitive conflicts can trigger the appearance of commognitive conflicts, but the elimination of commognitive conflicts does not imply that cognitive conflicts are resolved.
In this study, pre-service mathematics teachers cultivated technology content teaching knowledge (TPACK) in the regular curriculum of the College of Education. The course was designed to enhance pre-service teachers' mathematical communication skills by using an application, which is a mobile mathematics learning content for the development of group creativity of high school students. The educational program to improve mathematics teaching expertise using the application for group creativity expression consists of pre-education, goal setting, planning, teaching at school, and evaluation. In this process, pre-service teachers evaluated technology tools. They also wrote a task dialogue, lesson play, reflective journal, and lesson plan to guide high school students to develop group creativity in both app activities. As a result of the educational program, pre-service mathematics teachers cultivated TPACK and enhanced their mathematical communication skills with high school students to develop group creativity.
This research is an analysis of communication that occurs during the quadratic function teaching and learning process of middle school students, which reflects mathematical modeling. For an in-depth analysis of the communication, Sfard(2008)'s discourse theory and language analysis framework were applied. A quadratic function mathematical modeling teaching and learning were conducted for the week second (1 hour) in June 2019 for students who studied the concept of a quadratic function and who passed a specified period (3 months). The results are as follows. First, The commo-gnitive conflict occurred because of differences in prior knowledge other than quadratic function among students. Second, in the course of communication, knowledge was expanded through problem-solving from different perspectives. These results can be interpreted as allowing students to clearly reveal problems in the communication process based on their understanding of the concept of quadratic functions and to facilitate cooperation among students. of the concept of quadratic functions and to facilitate cooperation among students.

Storycrafting is a creative educational technique in Finland. Since 2011, storytelling approach of mathematics textbooks in South Korea can be regarded as opportunities for interesting learning of mathematics as well as its improper application to mathematics lessons. We need to revise and improve the storytelling method. The purpose of this study is to make a storycrafting program that encourages students to make mathematical stories for themselves and to analyze the effect of the storycrafting program on mathematical creativity and communication. To do so, we developed a storycrafting program of mathematics for sixth graders, which is composed of 33 lessons. And we applied them to one sixth class as experimental group. Through pre-test and post-test, their mathematical creativity and communication were tested. Based on the result of t-test, we can verify the statistical meaningful effect of the storycrafting program. This study contains some conclusions and suggestions.
The purposes of this study were to explore in depth about 5th graders' mathematical speaking and writing abilities and to investigate differences on those abilities. The study involved three-5th graders and their speaking and writing abilities in geometry area were analyzed. According to the results of the study. the children had difficulties in selecting and using appropriate mathematical languages to explain mathematical concepts, mathematical ideas, and problem solving steps. The children who participated in the study showed higher ability in speaking than writing.

The purpose of this thesis is to find the guiding direction of mathematical communication in lower grade students of elementary school and to present a new direction about the effect of using concrete material in communication. It is expected that mathematical communication increases when concrete material is used for the students of the lower grades, who are in concrete operational period. Therefore, this study ai s to investigate what characteristics there are in mathematical communication of second grade students and what effect concrete materials have on mathematical communication and learning. The analysis of the teaching record shows that the second grade students use alternative terms in the process of communication since they are not familiar with mathematical symbols or terms, which is a characteristic of communication in a mathematics class in which concrete material is used. In the process of teaming the students apply their living experiences to their teaming. Since a small number of students lead class, the interaction between students is also led by them. The direction of communication in a small group is not centered around solution of a problem, and most students show a more interest in finding answers than in the process of learning. The effect that concrete material has on communication plays an important role in promoting students' speaking activity; it allows students to identify and correct their errors more easily. It also makes students' activities more predictable, and it increases a small group activities through the medium of concrete material. However, it was also noticed that students' listening activities are not appropriately developed since they do not pay attention to a teacher who uses concrete material. The effects that concrete material has on mathematics class can be summarized as follows. Concrete material promotes students' participation in class by triggering their interest of learning of mathematics and helps them to understand the course of learning. It also helps the teaming and formation of concepts for children of low academic performance. And it makes a phased learning possible according to students' ability to use concrete material and to solve a problem. Based upon the results above mentioned, the use of concrete material is absolutely needed in mathematics classes of lower grade elementary school students since it increases communication and gives much influence on mathematics learning. Therefore, teachers need to develop teaching or learning method which can help increase communication, considering the characteristics of students' communication.
Internet was introduced to this study for making mathematics class the surroundings where students can solve the mathematics problems and communicate mathematically in a free way without restriction of time and place. With the intention of investigating mathematical communication and problem solving in mathematics education using internet, the objects of this study were determined as follows: First, how does a student express mathematical idea in problem solving using internet\ulcorner Second, is there any difference in the degree of participation of mathematical communication according to schoolwork accomplishment and characteristics of the student\ulcorner Third, what's the effect of class using internet on problem solving of mathematics class\ulcorner A case study was executed for the solution and the subjects were all students(44 persons) of a class in the fourth grade of elementary school in D city got into web-site of internet and had class with it and 8 students out of them were deeply analyzed. Their results were shown on internet, and eight of them had interview for deep research after survey with questionnaires for all of the students after class. The results and the conclusions of this study were as follows: First, it showed that there was various types(simple statement, fact enumerating, logical thinking, using letters and formula, insufficiency of explanation) of the mathematical idea expression in internet according to students and study using internet seems to be helpful to the improvement of logical his own expression through other students' expression. Second, it showed that there was difference in mathematical communication participation according to the student's characteristics and it helped students of poor schoolwork be interested and confident in mathematics. Third, it showed that pattern study using internet had effect on forming a habit of reason and verification in problem solving in mathematics class. Accordingly, pattern study using internet seems to have a positive effect on increasing mathematical interests and solving problems in mathematics class.
