  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference in importance and performance of the university start-up support system focusing on D university students to grasp the perception of the start-up support system provided the university from the perspective of students who are real users. Through this, a plan for qualitative growth and advancement of the university start-up system was derived using the IPA (importance-performance analysis) analysis. The findings are as follows. The importance of all elements of university start-up education and start-up support system is higher than the performance, which means that the start-up education and support programs currently implemented by universities are recognized as important, but do not play a big role in terms of performance for students. In addition, the highest priority factors for improvement in the importance-performance matrix were funding and investment support, start-up space and facilities support, management advisory, patent and intellectual property support, and entrepreneurship field practice. Therefore, This study can be used as objective data to identify the factors that universities should focus on and establish a start-up support system from a long-term perspective, and to build and operate a start-up support system that reflects the needs of students.

  • As the economic, social, and environmental problems of the local community reach a serious level, our society is realizing the need to foster young talents who discover opportunities in local issues through entrepreneurship education and create social values through creative challenges. However, entrepreneurship education programs are generally focused on commerciality, so customized education programs to solve regional problems are insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a community problem-solving entrepreneurship curriculum. In this study, a competency based curriculum model was applied to develop the curriculum, and regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competencies were derived through expert advice from a total of 10 people. In the process, the Delphi methodology was additionally used to reduce the possibility of errors in the competency model. As a result of the study, a total of 23 regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competencies were confirmed, and knowledge(K) - skill(S) - attitude(A) by competency consisted of 5, 9, and 9, respectively. By applying this to Dunham's problem-solving six-step model, modular learning support measures were developed in the order of phase 1(problem discovery), phase 2(problem analysis), phase 3(plan), phase 4(measure), and phase 5(evaluation). This study is meaningful in that it integrated theory and practice by developing specific entrepreneurship curriculum and learning support measures based on the theoretical model devised in social welfare. In addition, it has implications in that it developed a regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competency model based on expert advice and proposed a specific curriculum based on this.

  • This paper analyzes a case of successful faculty entrepreneurship through a coupled process of open innovation in a university context, using the core competency theory perspective. Initially, the current state of faculty entrepreneurship is examined, and the effects of interdisciplinary coupled processes of open innovation are explored, focusing on the case of 'Omotion Inc.,' a startup utilizing generative AI technology for hyper-realistic 3D virtual human experiences. The research methodology involves in-depth interviews with Omotion Inc.'s co-founders, technology commercialization professionals, and experts in the field, followed by analysis based on foundational theories. Applying the core competency theory, this paper scrutinizes the process of integrating diverse expertise and technologies from various academic disciplines. The analysis goes beyond the limitations of faculty entrepreneurship confined to a single technology-centric research domain. Instead, it explores the possibilities of enhancement and value creation through coupled processes, providing practical implications for the university entrepreneurial ecosystem. The aim is to extend the traditional roles of education and research within the university, presenting a role in economic value creation beyond the boundaries of conventional faculty entrepreneurship. Through the collaboration of two faculty members, this study showcases the creation of novel technology and business models. It establishes that successful coupled processes of open innovation in faculty entrepreneurship, from a core competency theory perspective, require the entrepreneurial firm to possess (1) entrepreneurial capabilities, (2) technological capabilities, and (3) networking capabilities. The implications of this research highlight the positive impact of coupled processes of open innovation in faculty entrepreneurship, as evidenced by the Omotion Inc. case, offering guidance on entrepreneurial directions for university members preparing for entrepreneurship.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the way meaning is generated by considering the exhibition as a discourse. In addition, we examine the way the narrative is transformed according to the characteristics of the genre in the syntactic aspect of the exhibition. In the process of generating meaning of the exhibition, the strategy of the enunciator is involved and the visitors are manipulated to interpret the exhibition discourse under the intention of the enunciator. Unlike the previous studies that pursue communication efficiency from a functional perspective, this study focuses on narrative structure. In order to analyze this exhibition discourse, the study adopts Greimas' narrative semiotics and took advantage of the semi-symbolic system presented by Jean-Marie Floch as a tool for visual text analysis. As the object of analysis, the special exhibition of Giacometti was selected. The exhibition theme based on the Giacometti's artistic identity is configurated by the enunciator's discourse strategy. As a result of the narrative analysis, the exhibition induces the alternative repetition of the accumulation of /knowing/ and interpretation of the texts. The visitor is required to actively interpret it in a special exhibition space as a utopic space where fundamental test takes place. This space is visualized through light, background music, and blocking wall. The semio-narrative study of the exhibition discourse is meaningful because it presents a possibility of applied semiotics.

  • This study aimed to evaluate the R&D efficiency of Daejeon Metropolitan City's regional industries and to derive policy implications for enhancing the competitiveness of regional industries. To achieve this, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) were employed to analyze the efficiency and productivity changes of 16 Decision-Making Units (DMUs) in Daejeon's key industries from 2013 to 2022. The DEA analysis revealed that certain industry groups, such as the Research Industry (2013-2014), Bio Industry (2013-2014), and Metal Industry (2015-2017), demonstrated high efficiency by optimizing resource utilization. These industries were found to effectively maximize outputs by efficiently using resources in their R&D activities. On the other hand, some industries, such as the Knowledge Industry (2013-2014) and Wireless Communication Industry (2015-2017), recorded relatively low efficiency, indicating the need for improvements in resource utilization and operational strategies. The Scale Efficiency (SE) analysis showed that some industries were not operating at an optimal scale. Furthermore, the MPI analysis, which evaluated productivity changes over time, confirmed that technological progress and changes in technical efficiency significantly impacted industry-specific productivity. Efficiency changes over time were recorded as 70.96% (13-'14), 70.317% (15-'17), 68.59% (18-'20), and 76.57% ('21-'22), with a 28.38% improvement potential over ten years.

  • This study focuses on the duration of regular donors who are one of the key resources for stable operation of nonprofit charity organizations. Regular donors can have a choice between selecting preferred target subjects on different target subjects and delegating authority to charity organizations for execution of the contribution. This study examine the comparative validity of the hypothesis of identification effect and the hypothesis of authority delegation effect. It fully uses the regular donors' data from one charitable organization called S charity organization. In analysis, it employes Weibull model among parametric survival analysis methods based on the fitness of distribution. The result showed that regular donors who delegate authority have significantly longer duration of donation than regular donors who designate and donate international target subjects. In other words, regular donors who select domestic target subjects as beneficiaries have significantly longer duration than regular donors who select international target subjects. This result suggests that in the two hypothetical explanations, domestic identification and authority delegation are equally valid. Finally, among control variables, age, committed amount each donation, status difference (regular donation vs. temporary donation) at the starting point, and the payment method were statistically significant predictors on the duration of regular donors. This study meaningfully deepen and broaden our understandings of regular donors' donation behavior and also provides strategic knowledge regarding managing and retaining regular donors for non-profit charity organizations.

  • At present, while the East Asian thoughts are world-widely attract public attention, the education of philosophy in our society remains at the stage of mostly borrowing the Western texts and methods. Book of general education Gyeokmongyogyeol, written by Yulgok for the novices to go into neo-Confucianism, covers moral training, filial duty, courtesy and conduct of life over all. As for him, the study was not merely acquisition of knowledge, but also the whole process of feeling and realizing one's own dream in one's own life and cultivating one's own human nature. Such education philosophy of Yulgok is likely to be closely related with modern philosophical practice. Philosophical practice is a very dynamic and practical process in which wisdom acquired from philosophy is applied to reality. This study assumes that the youth cannot feel happy from their own studies while they spend lots of time and make great efforts for them, since they don't have their own determined dreams with resolute will, that is, not having one's own sense of sovereignty. In addition, as for the solution to this, based upon the contents of "chapter of moral training" in Gyeokmongyogyeol, realization and cultivation of one's own sense of sovereignty are reviewed, and the methods for philosophical thinking of the youth are proposed. It is considered that Confucianism in the Joseon Dynasty will contribute to the philosophical practice through the process of philosophical thinking if the methods for philosophy education are developed and directly applied to the spot of education through the above research. In addition, the youth in our country will realize that training in philosophical thinking is a practical process that can be achieved by themselves in their learning process.
