  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the rationale and format of music therapy interventions with patients receiving hospice or palliative care in Korea. Through this analysis, I examined whether the music intervention used was based on a valid rationale and represented the professionalism expected of today's music therapy interventions. A total of 12 studies that met the selection criteria were identified, and the overall characteristics of each study and its format were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the rationale for each study and its format were influenced by the author's research field. The analysis also showed that the research on music-based interventions in hospice or palliative care settings was insufficient and involved a mix of professional and nonprofessional interventions. The results of this study suggest that importance of researchers possessing professional competence which requires offering a clear justification for their choice of interventions, music, and instruments. Additionally, these results emphasize the need for further development of evidence-based music therapy approaches in hospice and palliative care settings as the role of music in supporting patients in these environments has gained increasing recognition and validation.

  • This study aimed to review Korean-written and English-written studies on music interventions for family caregivers of patients in medical settings. Electronic databases were searched for studies published through 2016, using the keywords of music intervention, family caregivers, and specified settings. A total of 43 studies, five Korean-written and 38 English-written studies, were selected. The results showed that caregivers were the sole participants in five studies (family-only), and caregivers and patients co-participated in 38 studies (family-patient). While diversified types of family participation were included in the English-written studies dating back to the late 1980s, the Korean-written studies were the only ones to include patients as co-participants with their caregivers. Studies with family-only participation tended to be conducted in palliative care units and usually included the spouses of the patients. Meanwhile, studies with family-patient participation tended to be conducted in NICU or cancer units and usually included the parents of the patients. Furthermore, studies with family-only participation tended to apply passive music activities, and those with family-patient participation tended to use active music activities. The results of this study present baseline data on how family-centered care can be included in music interventions in medical settings in Korea, suggesting future studies to systematically analyze music interventions for family caregivers in terms of diversified patient- and caregiver-related factors.

Secondary analysis study using data of 564 high-risk group in the medical aid case management and their healthcare utilization data. Letters had positive correlations with the scores of all case management domains. The higher visits was, the lower the score of self-health care ability was, and the higher the number of phone calls was, the higher the score for reasonable medical use was. While there was no significant difference in medical cost according to aid management by interventions, the higher visits and resource links were, the lower the subjects' total number of payment days was. There is a difference in the various areas of the quality of health -related life and medical use depending on case management by intervention method and its number. It is necessary to carry out the efficient number of access to case management by intervention method.

The collected data were analyzed by Paired t-test with SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. Results: (1) Hypothesis No. 1 "The experimental group which received Rainbow program will have a higher degree of self esteem than before" was supported (t=11.554, P<0.001). (2) Hypothesis No. 2 "The experimental group which received Rainbow program will have a higher degree of spiritual well-being than before" was also supported (t=6.387, P<0.001). Conclusion: This Holistic Hospice Nursing Intervention Program was effective in increasing self-esteem and spiritual well-being of patients in hospice palliative care unit. Therefore, it can actively be used and also applied to hospice palliative care practice, research, and education as a useful model of interdisciplinary team approach by hospice professionals.

  • South Korea has the most advanced technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era because of its high-speed Internet commercialization. However, the industry is shrinking due to its various regulations in building and its utilization of personal information as big data. Currently, South Korea's personal data utilization business is in its early stages. In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is difficult for startups to use data. There are various causes here. Above all, legal regulations to protect personal information are emphasized. This study confirms that transactions of personal medical records through My Data can be made. Moreover, it confirms that there is a need for a mediating role between stakeholders. This study lacks statistical access in the process of performing stakeholder roles. However, personal medical records will be traded safely in the future, and new subjects will enter the market. Furthermore, the domestic bio-industry will develop. Through this study, various problems were derived in establishing Medical MyData in Korea. Moreover, it looks forward to continuing various studies in the health care sector in the future.

  • In this study, the Commission proposed the mitigation of remedies by improving the role of medical disputes and preventing medical disputes. Medical disputes include a comprehensive description of medical malpractice, medical negligence, medical malpractice, and medical malpractice. Medical negligence refers to the neglect of medical care due to careless medical care in the treatment of patients, leading to patient injury and death. An inappropriate response in the process of international treatment could result in international trials and a decline in international credibility. In cases where medical disputes arise, health care is strictly necessary to determine the truth or absence of medical malpractice, and these expertise and experience are usually provided by emotion. With the neutral and objective emotions provided fairly and impartially, medical care expertise and experience can be fair, and the medical disputes can be resolved peacefully if the parties are trustworthy. The Health Care Dispute Mediation Committee should focus on enhancing the professionalism, objectivity, and reliability of medical care.
