The Study on Relationship between Social Isolation and Cognitive Function in Elderly Korean (노인의 사회적 고립과 인지기능의 관계에 대한 일 연구)

  • The objective of the study was to analyze difference in cognitive function according to social isolation level in elderly Korean. The author classified the social isolation into the structural isolation and contact isolation. Structural isolation corresponded to the no spouse or no children and the contact isolation corresponded to the absence of contact with children, friends or social association. Author conducted multivariate regression analysis with the elderly people aged 65 years or older from the 5th wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing data. Number of sample was 3,971. It was confirmed that the level of cognitive function was lower according to level of social isolation. It was also confirmed that friends/neighborhood isolation, and social activity isolation showed significant relationships with cognitive functions. Based on the results, author suggested that to protect the elderly from negative effects of social isolation, we needed the policy to promote elderly's the participation in social activity. The study to analyze the factors related to social isolation was also needed.

Collectivism's Effect on Volunteerism, A Case Study of Japanese employees (일본의 집단문화의 봉사정신의 관계: 글로벌 IT기업 직원 중심으로)

  • In this research, Collectivism's influence on Japanese employee's volunteerism in IT Multinational Enterpise (MNE) was investigated with empathy mediating. Previous research on Hofstede's cultural dimensions were mostly conducted at national levels. However, in this study, Yoo's Cultural value Scale (CVSCALE) was used to analyze colletivistic tenedencies at individual levels and its influence on volunteerism. A total of 220 self-administering online surveys were distributed to IT MNE employees in Tokyo, Japan for three weeks period. 160 usable surveys were collected and analyzed with SPSS 21.0. Findings indicate collectivism positively influenced volunteerism in individuals with empathy as possible antecent of volunteerism. In conclusion and application, the significance of this research lies in indicating collectivism's positive influence on volunteerism and empathy as possible antecedents of volunteerism in Japanese employees even though Japan has displayed stronger individualism than the rest of East Asian neighbors.

Fatigue and Fatigue-regulation Behavior in Hemodialysis Patients (혈액투석 환자의 피로와 피로조절행위)

  • This study was performed to examine the relationship between fatigue and fatigue-regulation behavior in Hemodialysis(HD) patients. Methods: The subjects for this study were 107 patients on HD who were registered in a hospital in Seoul. The data were collected from August 2 to August 14, 2010. The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results: The mean score of fatigue was 77.1 which means their experience of high level fatigue. Frequency of the fatigue-regulation behavior and the mean of efficiency of the fatigue-regulation behavior was 8.8 and 22.8. Positive correlation was found between fatigue and fatigue-regulation behavior (r=.45, p=.000). Conclusion: It is considered that the study emphasizes for the healthcare providers to recognize fatigue as the important nursing issue for HD patients. And it is necessary to develop an evidence-based nursing intervention program for regulating fatigue in HD patients.

A Study on the Effect of Network Embeddedness on Collaboration and Performance in the Project Supply Chain : Focusing on Second-tier Suppliers (프로젝트 공급망에서 네트워크 배태성이 협업과 기업성과에 미치는 영향연구 : 2차 협력업체를 중심으로)

  • The rapid trends toward outsourcing have created more complex and fragmented multi-tier supply chains for Engineering, Procurement & Construction(EPC) industry. Working with suppliers and sub-suppliers requires continuous integration activities during project execution. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the performances and relationship satisfaction of second-tier suppliers participating in the project-based supply chain. This study proposes the network embeddedness, collaboration, information-sharing and flexibility as antecedents variables, and collected the survey responses from the second-tier suppliers having experiences with complex projects. The statistical results indicate that the collaboration with supply chain leading firm and first-tier supplier has significant impact on the performances and relationship satisfaction of second-tier suppliers. It was also found that the information-sharing and flexibility influence the network embeddedness as well as collaboration, and that the embeddedness have significant impact on the collaboration.

  • The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of authentic leadership on occupational self-efficacy and role-based performance and to investigate the effect of occupational self-efficacy on role-based performance. Moreover, another objective of this study is to analyse the mediating role of occupational self-efficacy in the influence of authentic leadership on role-based performance. To accomplish the purpose of the study, this study employed two methods: literature reviews and empirical studies. The results showed that authentic leadership increase employees' occupational self-efficacy and have a positive influence on role-based performance. And it was found that employees' occupational self-efficacy also positively affect employees' role-based performance.

The Effect of Stress on the Happiness Index of Nursing College Students : Focusing on Mediating Effects of Optimism (스트레스가 간호대학생의 행복지수에 미치는 영향 : 낙관성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of optimism on stress on happiness index. The subjects were 3 and 4 grade students who had clinical practice experience among 3 nursing students at G university, and 362 questionnaires were used as research data. The data analysis used regression analysis, SPSS macro and bootstrapping methods to examine the mediating effects of optimism on college students' stress and happiness. The results showed that stress, happiness, and optimism were significantly correlated, and stress had a direct effect on college students' happiness. In other words, the higher the level of stress, the lower the happiness index of college students. The optimism was partially mediated between stress and college students' happiness index. Therefore, in order to increase the happiness index of college students, it is necessary to develop and implement a program for happiness enhancement as one of the program strategies that can enhance stress.

The Effect of Team Efficacy on Individual Creativity and Product Development Performance through Communication Competence in Technology Development Projects (기술개발 프로젝트에서 팀효능감이 커뮤니케이션 역량을 통해 개인창의성과 제품개발성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Improving performance needs Creativity and Improving Creativity needs clear communication of work orders in technology development projects. This study empirically analyzed the effects of team efficacy and knowledge sharing on communication competence and the effects of communication competence on individual creativity and product development performance. The purpose of this study is to verify the importance of communication and personal creativity in technology development projects and to suggest ways to improve communication capabilities. A survey was conducted of participants in technology development and the relationship between variables was confirmed by the structural equation model. The results show that team efficacy and knowledge sharing had a positive effect on communication competence, and that the clear delivery and understanding of team orders were the main factors in improving individual creativity. The results of this study will contribute to improving the communication competence of participants who are required for improving individual creativity in technology development projects in which high technology is converged. In the future, we will study the effects of Communication Competence on Organizational Creativity.

An Empirical Study on Bargaining Positions and Exchange Relationship in Supply Chain Network (공급망 내 교섭지위와 기업 간 거래관계에 관한 실증연구)

  • Bargain position and trust are core issues in supply chain management, yet the effect of bargain position on trust remains to be undetermined. The purpose of this research is to present theoretical and methodological hurdles for the relationship among various bargain positions and trust, and develops a set of hypotheses about the asymmetric effect of bargain position on trust in supply chain network. An analytical tool to analyze nonlinear effects on a response surface is introduced. Based on the data collected through a survey of firms participating in Project Supply chain, a set of hypotheses is tested. The analysis results support the prediction that the bargain position perceived by the buyers have asymmetric effects on trust toward supplies, and provide more fine-grained accounts on the relationships among bargain power, bargain position and trust in a supply chain network.

The Relationships of the Clinical Practice Stress and the Major Satisfaction with the Nursing Professionalism of Nursing College Students (간호대학생의 임상실습 스트레스, 전공만족도 및 간호 전문직관의 관계)

  • The present study investigates the relationships between clinical practice stress, major satisfaction, and nursing professionalism in nursing students, and aims to explore the direction of nursing education for the establishment of exemplary nursing professionalism in nursing college students. This correlational study involved 210 third- and fourth-year nursing students with clinical practice experience. Data were collected from April 1 to May 30, 2014. Data were analyzed using t-tests, correlation analyses, and regression analyses with SPSS Program 20.0. Also, AMOS were used for confirmatory factor analysis. Stress in clinical practice explained 30% of the variance in satisfaction with one's major, and was the strongest predictor of nursing professionalism, explaining 53% of the variance in the same. The results show the need for educational interventions to enhance students' perceived value of and satisfaction with nursing, as well as for structured and systematic educational programs that consider individual characteristics.

A Meta Analysis on Effects of Flipped Learning in Korea (국내 플립러닝의 학습효과에 관한 메타분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the learning effect of domestic flipped learning in meta - analysis. We collected a total of 95 studies on flipped learning effectiveness published in Korea by 2017, of which 59 are dissertations and thesis and 36 are academic papers. The results were analyzed using CMA program. First, the learning effect of flipped learning was .58, which showed that the learning effect was higher than the lecture class. Second, the effect size of cognitive, affirmative, and interpersonal domains showed significant effects of flipped learning in all three domains. Third, the learning effect of flipped learning is influenced by the type of publishing, school type, core subject, when the type of publication are dissertation and thesis, when the type of school is high school. Based on the results, this study suggested implications for the design and implementation of flipped learning in Korea.
