  • When we divide Environmental Ethics education into the elements of 'knowledge - emotion - behavior', we need to focus on 'knowledge' at high school level. In general Moral Education, 'knowledge - emotion - behavior' is a circular link, but as Environmental Ethics is a matter of 'consciousness', it is desirable to instruct with the process of 'knowledge>emotion, behavior'. Teaching 'Consciousness on Nature' is not recommended at elementary or middle school level because it demands higher inference. On the contrary, considering the reality in high school it is not recommended to teach the necessity and method of recycling or to go field trip to the polluted area. Rather, it is better to inform the students of Environmental Ethics' viewpoints and let them know the ways of moral judgments. The view of nature in Orientalism is well explained through the Environmental Ethics' viewpoint. To explain the view of nature in Orientalism we should concentrate on the theory, not on the attitude of life. And we should rather compare the viewpoints of nature in Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism respectively than explain in Orientalism all together. That is, if we compare with the viewpoints of Environmental Ethics and explain similarities & differences in Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, we can complement Environmental Ethics or present the third approach.

As a result, 62.5% of students spoke the future of the AI society positively. Second, if there is a self-driving car accident, 39.2% of students thought it is the vehicle owner's responsibility at the current level of autonomous driving. Third, invasion of privacy, abuse of technology, and unbalanced information acquisition were cited as dysfunctions of the development of AI. It was mentioned that ethical education for both AI users and developers is required as a way to minimize malfunctions, and institutional preparations should be carried out in parallel. Fourth, only 19.2% of students showed a positive opinion about a society where face recognition technology is universal. Regarding the use of AI without moral standards, they emphasized the ethical literacy of both users and developers. This study is meaningful in that it provides information necessary to design the contents of artificial intelligence ethics education in liberal arts education.

  • Presently the instructional model for internet ethics education is modeled after the integrated morality. The model is based on the assumption that ethical awareness will lead to ethical activities which is based on the theory that cognition is correlated to the behavioral domains. But the side effects of the information society in the cyber space increased even when the education for the awareness of ethics in the cyber space has been taught more aggressively than before. In this study, the relation of the cognition for information ethics and the ethical behavior in the cyber space was analyzed in order to find out the implications for the effective internet ethics education model. The tools used are the 'DIT (Defining Issues Test)' to measure the behavioral ability in the physical world, the Information Ethics Judgment to measure the behavioral ability in the cyber space, and the self diagnostic tool of 'Internet ethics awareness' to measure the level of cognitive knowledge for internet ethics. The correlation of three measures was analyzed. The results were college students' levels of ethics from three tools from are considerably low. Moral judgement and information ethics judgement were not correlated which means that the behavior in the physical world was not necessarily correlated to the behavior in the cyber space. The three measurements were not statistically significantly correlated. Therefore the cognitive awareness for the information ethics were not necessarily correlated to the ethical behavior in the cyber space. Ethical cognition and the moral behavior need to be taught with equal emphasis as they do not have strong correlation.
