The industrial foundation of the inside and outside of a country has brought significant damages due to attacks from hackers. Especially, if the national primary core infrastructures(like electric power, dam, railroad, atomic energy, etc.) has been significantly damaged, it can be directly linked not only to economic problems but also to people's lives. These national primary core infrastructures usually constitute SCADA system using Modbus RS486 communication. Because of this characteristic, SCADA system has RTU master and slave linked to RJ11 cables to directly pass commands. RJ11 is possible in data spoofing using physical connection because the transmission range of RJ11 has a wide bandwidth(almost 1km). Hence, this paper designed an idle-time measurement system for SCADA system for emerging security improvement in the national primary core infrastructures.
This study aims to suggest the place branding methods applicable for regenerated idle industrial facilities. The place branding methods were analyzed by separating into hard branding methods and soft branding methods, and the results of the study are as follows: As for the hard branding methods, the exterior, outer wall materials and interior materials of the building and industrial equipment are preserved to revive the historicity of the building. In order to organize a differentiated space, it is important to create the convenience space such as cafes, experience space, lounge, and restaurants as well as the space for the operation of the programs. The building itself is utilized as a landmark or the iconic facility such as the winding tower or chimney is utilized as a landmark. As the methods of introducing natural elements, there is a need to create the resting space, law area and water space where trees can be planted and landscape can be viewed, and the development of tourism products utilizing the peripheral resources and the link of programs are also important. As for the soft branding methods, the provision of programs where a variety of art genres and the sense of place are reflected and the programs linked to the region is needed, and the story of place can be shared by storytelling utilizing the work and programs reflecting the sense of place. In addition, the content development and physical improvement of facilities reflecting the needs of visitors and the establishment of the organic collaboration system of a variety of subjects are needed for the sustainability of place.
This study attempts to diagnose and categorize the characteristics of old industrial parks, and eventually link the results to the regeneration of industrial complexes. For this reason, we performed a factor analysis by utilizing 15 indices of 89 industrial parks, excluding 5 large equipment industry sites. The 15 indices were classified into 5 factors. Factor 1 can be described as a category of 'urbanization possibility' for the indices of building age, plot ratio of less than $1,650m^2$, and urbanization ratio of the surrounding area. Factor 2 can be described as a category of 'productive efficiency' for the indices of land productivity, amount of exports by land, employment productivity, and repair costs of industrial areas. Factor 3 can be described as a category of 'infrastructure amenity' for the indices of road ratio, plot ratio attached to the road, and parks and recreation ratio. Factor 4 can be described as a category of 'location potentiality' for the indices of land price, infrastructure age, and distance to the highway, while factor 5 can be described as a category of 'availability of supporting facilities' for the indices of parking lot ratio and supporting facility land ratio. By using these 5 factor scores, we were able to extract industrial parks included in the lower 25% of the factor score and searched for what kind of factor problem they have for each industrial park. Based on these results, this research will provide sufficient information on the decline of industrial parks with respect to their demerits. The results of this study show significant implications and contribute to the establishment of policies for regional competitiveness, as well as job creation, in the process of industrial regeneration.

Abandoned mines represent unused space resulting from resource use and changes in industrial environments. Efforts are underway to repurpose such underground spaces, leveraging their unique attributes of temperature stability, shading, and security. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of operating high-demand data centers and public sports facilities as potential recycling options for abandoned mine spaces. The status of data centers located in abandoned mines abroad was examined, including their operational technology capitalizing on the advantages of underground spaces. Considering the varying sizes of underground spaces in different types of abandoned mine in South Korea, the suitability of installing facilities for 12 different sports was evaluated for potential contributions to the health and welfare of local residents. The utilization of abandoned mine spaces as data centers and public sports facilities is expected to not only recycle industrial heritage but also to allow new development opportunities for local communities.

By operating servers, storage, and networking devices, Data centers consume a lot of power such as cooling facilities, air conditioning facilities, and emergency power facilities. In the United States, The power consumed by data centers accounted for 1.8% of total power consumption in 2004. The data center industry has evolved to a large scale, and the number of large hyper scale data centers is expected to grow in the future. However, as a result of examining the server share of the data center, There is a problem where the server is not used effectively such that the average occupancy rate is only about 15% to 20%. To solve this problem, we propose a Virtual Machine Reallocation research using virtual machine migration function. In this paper, we use meta-heuristic for effective virtual machine reallocation. The virtual machine reallocation problem with the goal of maximizing the idle server was designed and solved through experiments. This study aims to reducing the idle rate of data center servers and reducing power consumption simultaneously by solving problems.

Recently, many cities and regions of the world attempt to promote cultural and arts activities in order to vitalize regional economies and strengthen local identity. Some old industrial cities of the advanced economies in particular often introduce cultural and arts activities in renovating obsolete urban infra-structure, revitalize urban economy, clean polluted urban environment, and advertise various development projects. A small Canadian city, Stratford, Ontario, has shown a spectacular success in such efforts. By hosting Shakespearian festivals every year since 1953, the theatre company, the Shakespearian Festival of Canada in Stratford, sells about 600 thousands tickets, attracting 2 million visitors to the area. With the festivals, the city became able to host a large cultural cluster composed of the theatre company, chef school, summer music festival, and Chicago Associates. The city has also able to maintain one of the most competent theatre companies in the North America.
This research aims to find planning issues on reuse of an industrial heritage as a cultural cluster and to suggest planning factors which can be referred when designing the similar cases. Analysis standards were formed through reviewing of precedent literatures, and the selected cases(i.e Shanghai M50, Yokohama BankART1929, and Incheon ArtPlatform) were analyzed to identify both physical and nonphysical planning characteristics. By combining analyses, the following results were obtained; (1) The demand and supply of the arts coexist in one place, and the studios and galleries are designed with high ceilings; (2) The regional and historical characteristics are revealed from preserving major architectural elements of previous buildings, and open spaces are provided to promote a variety of activities for local residents; (3) Various strategies to overcome disadvantage in location are developed, and the concepts of design can be easily recognized by buildings' exterior as the reused industrial heritage and the cultural cluster; (4) Diverse supports for artists make it possible to gather many competent artists, and the cooperative networks among artists play a pivotal role in the development of cultural cluster; (5) The cluster runs educational programs reflecting the needs of local residents, and builds a strong relationship with the local community by supporting regional art industry or developing linked programs; (6) The cluster serves various functions such as cafes, pubs, restaurants, art shops, and bookstores, and hosts appealing events and festivals to attract many people even who are not interested in arts.

The Construction industry is a labor-intensive industry that its labor cost takes up about 30~40% out of the whole construction cost. However, due to a stereotype that on-site work is a 3D job there is a shortage of the labor forces. Modular construction method is to produce modular units in the plant so that workers could work stably. Also, after delivering the module from plant to the site, there will be only installment to be required that shortens construction duration. Even though the modular market is currently expanding based on military facilities in Korea, its best strengths are not demonstrated well which are shortened construction period and low cost. It also causes labor problem of production due to minimum utilization of the modular construction method. Multi-skilled labor means a technician that is able to perform more than two kinds of work with more than two techniques. Multi-skilled labor can proceed smoothly by figuring out the connectivity between the precedent and following operations. Therefore, this research is to apply the concept of Multi-skilled labors, suggest solutions and allocate manpowers efficiently. As a result, it helps to decrease idle manpowers during the operation and the total labor forces can be saved. Low cost is the original strength of the modular which can stand out so the modular market is expected to expand.
