  • 최근 부하증가에 대한 안정적 전력공급과 환경문제 해결은 전 세계적 이슈로 등장되고 있으며, 그 해결책으로써 분산형전원(Distributed generation, DG)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. DG는 경제적 효율적 이유로 기존 전력계통과 연계해 운전되는데, 태양광이나 풍력과 같은 재생에너지를 이용한 DG의 불확실하며 빈번한 출력변동은 배전계통의 전압조정을 어렵게 만든다. 배전계통의 전압조정을 위해 배전용변전소의 부하시 탭 변환기(Under Load Tap Changer, ULTC)가 이용되고 있다. ULTC는 부하변동에 따른 배전선로상 전압강하를 보상하는 선로 전압강하보상법(Line Drop Compensation, LDC)에 의해 조정된다. LDC 전압조정법에서, 측정된 뱅크전류와 미리 설정된 LDC 정정치(LDC parameters, 부하중심점 전압과 등가 임피던스)를 이용해 ULTC의 송출전압을 결정한다. LDC 정정치 설계시, 기존에는 ULTC 탭 동작횟수를 줄이는 것이 주요 목표였고, 이 목표는 DG 도입을 제한하는 큰 원인이 되고 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 DG 도입을 증가시키는 새로운 ULTC 전압조정법을 제시하고 모델 배전계통 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 유효성을 확인한다.

Characterization of Thermal Contact Resistance Doped with Thermal Interface Material (접촉열전도재를 도포한 접촉열저항 특성연구)

  • This paper describes the thermal contact resistance and its effect on the performance of thermal interface material. An ASTM D 5470 based apparatus is used to measure the thermal interface resistance. Bulk thermal conductivity of different interface material is measured and compared with manufacturers' data. Also, the effect of grease void in the contact surface is investigated using the same apparatus. The flat type thermal interface tester is proposed and compared with conventional one to consider the effect of lateral heat flow. The results show that bulk thermal conductivity alone is not the basis to select the interface material because high bulk thermal conductivity interface material can have high thermal contact resistance, and that the center voiding affects the thermal interface resistance seriously. On the aspect of heat flow direction, thermal impedance of the lateral heat flow shows higher than that of the longitudinal heat flow by sixteen percent.

The Transmission Characteristics Analysis of Plastic-Packaged MMIC Microstrip (플라스틱 실장된 MMIC 마이크로스트립의 전송 특성 해석)

  • The dielectric effects of plastic packages on GaAs($\varepsilon$$_{r}$=13) MMIC microstrip characteristics are analyzed using the spectral domain method (SDM). As being packaged by typical FR-4 composites ($\varepsilon$$_{r}$=14.2) for PCB substrates and plastic packages, the characteristic impedance is reduced by about 6 %, but the effective dielectric constant is increased by 13 % from those of bare microstrip, respectively. The parasitic effects of the packaging materials can greatly degrade the performance of the packaged MMIC. We also calculated the optimum microstrip width, which maintains the 50 $\Omega$ matching condition after plastic packaging. These calculated results can be used to optimize the plastic packages, and extend the application ranges for low cost MMIC production.n.

  • 최근의 전력 공급 시장에서는 전력 공급의 유연성을 확보함과 동시에 고품질의 전력을 높은 신뢰성을 가지면서 수용가에 공급하는 송전기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시장의 요구에 부응하여 송전 시스템의 유효전력 및 무효전력을 능동적으로 제어할 수 있는 FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) 기기의 개념이 도입되었다 FACTS기술의 개념은 기존에 수동적으로 제어하였던 선로의 전압, 임피던스 및 위상각을 능동적으로 제어함으로써 전력공급의 유연성 및 신뢰성을 높이는 것이다 국내에서는 과거 일련의 project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기외 국내 적용을 위한 연구를 수행해 왔으며, 그 결과를 토대로 한전 전력연구원, (주)효성, 미국 Siemens사 및 국내 연구소와 협동연구의 형태로 한전의 154kV 계통에 적용되는 80MVA급 UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) pilot plant project를 진행하고 있다. 본 pilot plant project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기인 UPFC를 실제계통에 설치, 운영함으로써 향후 한국의 기간 계통인 345kV 송전 시스템에 적용할 시스템의 사양 및 운용전략을 도출할 계획이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 계통의 특징, pilot plant가 설치될 지역의 계통현황 및 기기의 사양을 소개하고 기기의 현장 설치 및 시험 진행 상황에 대하여 설명하였다.

Inkjet-Printed Capacitive Touch Paper (잉크젯 프린팅 기술을 이용한 캐패스티브 터치 페이퍼)

  • In this paper, an inkjet-printed capacitive touch pad is proposed. This touch pad detects contacts of human finger by detecting changes in effective capacitance due to electrical impedance of human finger. A flexible, low-cost and disposable paper is used as a substrate. Inkjet printing technology makes the fabrication fast, simple and environmentally friendly. Measured capacitances of the touched and untouched states are in the range of 163 to 182pF and 218 to 272pF, respectively. The differences in the measured capacitance of each state are sufficiently large to recognize that a finger has made contact with touch pad.

  • In this paper, we design the meander line inductors with high sensitivity and high quality factor(Q) using high characteristic impedance of aperture ground plate. Sensitivity as a frequency is new defined by variation of effective inductance per analysis frequency range instead of self resonance frequency (SRF). An equivalent lumped circuit is derived to explain the characteristic of high frequency inductor. The 4 nH meander line inductor with aperture ground plate has 0.45 nH/GHz of good sensitivity and 86 of Q at 0.7 GHz.

  • This paper presents the implementation of wide-band RFIC amplifier operating from near 50 MHz to 3 GHz using Tachyonics SiGe HBT foundry. Voltage shunt feedback is used for the flat gain and the broad band impedance matching. Initial design parameters are calculated through the low frequency small signal analysis. Since the HBT model was not available at the design time, discrete tuning board was made for fine adjustment in the low frequency range. Fabricated amplifier shows 12 dB gain with 1 dB fluctuation and P1 dB reaches 15 dBm at 850 MHz.

  • Switching phenomenon of a three-waveguide optical coupler was analyzed by using the coupled mode theory, and the coupling-length of the device was calculated by means of the FDM. CPW traveling-wave electrodes were designed by the CMM and SOR simulation techniques so as to satisfy the conditions of phase-velocity and impedance matching. Traveling-wave modulators were fabricated on a z-cut LiNbO$_3$ substrate. Ti was in-diffused in LiNbO$_3$ to make waveguides and Au electrodes were built on the waveguides by the electroplating technique. Insertion loss and switching voltage of the optical modulator were about 4 ㏈ and 15.6V. Network analyzer was used to obtain S parameters and corresponding RF response. From the measurement, parameters of the traveling-wave electrodes were extracted as such Z$_{c}$=39.2 $\Omega$, Neff=2.48, and a0=0.0665/cm((GHz) (1/2)). The measured optical response R(w) was compared with the theoretically estimated and both responses were shown to agree well. The measurement results revealed that the ㏈ bandwidth turned out to be about 13 GHz.

A Study on the Noise Reduction Method for Data Transmission of VLBI Data Processing System (VLBI 자료처리 시스템의 데이터 전송에서 잡음방지에 관한 연구)

  • KJJVC(Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator) was installed at the KJCC(Korea-Japan Correlation Center) and has been operated by KASI(Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) from 2009. KJNC is able to correlate the VLBI observed data through KVN(Korean VLBI Network), VERA(VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry), and JVN(Japanese VLBI Network) and its joint network array. And it is used exclusively as computer in order to process the observed data for the scientific purpose KJJVC used the VSI(VLBI Standard Interface) as the VLBI international standard at the data input-output specification between each component. Especially, for correlating the observed data, the data is transmitted with 1024Mbps speed between Mark5B high-speed playback and RVDB(Raw VLBI Data Buffer). The EMI(Electromagnetic lnterference), which is occurred by data transmission with high-speed, cause the data loss and the loss occurrence is frequently often for long transmission cable. Finally it will be caused the data recognition error by decreasing the voltage level of digital data signal. In this paper, in order to minimize the data loss by measuring the EMI noise level in transmission of the VSI specification, the 3 methods such as 1) RC filtering method, 2) lmpedance matching using Microstrip line, and 3) Signal buffering method using Differential line driver, were proposed. To verify the effectiveness of each proposed method, the performance evaluation was conducted by implementing and simulations for each method. Each proposed method was effectively confirmed as the high-speed data transmission of the VSI specification.

Tissue Mimicking Phantom for Visualization of Temperature Elevation Caused by Ultrasound (초음파에 의한 온도상승 가시화용 생체 모의매질)

  • To probe the temperature elevation effect caused by ultrasound, a tissue mimicking phantom was newly suggested. A carrageenan gel was adopted to realize not only the required transparency for visualization but also acoustic characteristics similar to human tissue. To visualize the temperature elevation inside phantom, thermochromic film with a critical temperature of discoloration was introduced. Acoustic characteristics of the tissue mimicking phantom were examined when the concentrations of carrageenan and sucrose changed. As the results, the attenuation coefficient of the phantom could be controlled in the range of 0.44~0.49 dB/cm/MHz, and the acoustic impedance in the range of 1.52~1.77 Mrayls. We could control the acoustic characteristics of the phantom by different concentration of carrageenan and sucrose, and it was possible to examine the temperature elevation caused by ultrasound in the phantom. The suggested method was verified by noninvasively visualizing the temperature elevation due to planar and focused ultrasound using the fabricated phantom.
