Fatigue Reliability Evaluation of an In-service Steel Bridge Using Field Measurement Data (현장계측데이터를 활용한 공용 중 강교량의 피로 신뢰도평가)

  • Strain gauges and the bridge weigh-in-motion (BWIM) method are the representative field measurement methods used for fatigue evaluationsof a steel bridge-in-service. For a fatigue reliability evaluation to assess fatigue damage accumulation, the effective stress range and the number of stress cycles applied as the fatigue details can be estimated based on the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluations with the field measurement data of the target bridge. However, the procedure for estimating the effective stress range and the stress cycles from field measurement data has not been explicitly presented. Furthermore, studies that quantitatively compare differences in fatigue evaluation results according to the field measurement data type or processing method used are still insufficient. Here, a fatigue reliability evaluation is conducted using strain and BWIM data that are measured simultaneously. A frame model and a shell-solid model were generated to examine the effect of the accuracy of the structural analysis model when using BWIM data. Also, two methods of handling BWIM data when estimating the effective stress range and average daily cycles are defined. As a result, differences in evaluation results according to the type of field measurement data used, the accuracy of the structural analysis model, and the data handling method could be quantitatively confirmed.

  • 암석의 파괴인성계수(fracture toughness)는 균열의 성장에 대한 암석의 저항을 나타낸다. 실험실에서 측정한 파괴인성계수는 일반적인 암석의 불균질성이나 이방성 외에도 시험편의 형상이나 하중조건에 의하여 크게 영향을 받는다. 따라서, 제한된 수의 시험편을 사용하여 측정된 파괴인성계수는 자료의 분산이 심하므로 실제 적용에 있어서 문제가 된다. 균열감응도란 파괴인성계수의 측정에 사용되는 시험편의 형상에 따라 결정되는 지수로서, 시험편의 파괴가 균열의 성장에 의한 것인지, 혹은 인장강도에 의한 것인지를 판별하는 기준이 된다. 이러한 균열감응도를 파악하여 암석의 파괴인성계수 측정에 유효한 시험편의 크기나 초기균열 길이의 범위를 설정할 수 있다. 이는 또한 실험실에서 측정된 차괴인성계수의 유효성 여부를 판별하는 기준으로 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 암석의 파괴인성계수의 측정에 흔히 사용되는 몇 가지 형태의 시험편들에 대하여 균열감응도를 계산하고 이에 따른 초기균열 길이의 범위를 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 볼 엔드밀을 사용한 5축 가공에서 공구 간섭회피를 위한 효율적인 알고리즘과 가공 가능한 많은 자세들 중에서 공구 절삭부위와 이전자세를 고려한 공구 자세설정 알고리즘을 개발 하였다. 공구 간섭검사는 공구 밑면 간섭과 몸체 간섭으로 나누어 순차적으로 수행하고, 공구 몸채 간섭이 없는 공구 자세를 설정한다. 공구 몸체 간섭검사는 곡면의 다각형 모델과 공구 축과의 관계를 사용하여 행한다. 간섭이 발생하였을 경우 간섭회피 및 자세조정 영역으로 설정하고 유효한 공구자세의 범위를 정한 후, 이 범위 내에서 공구 절삭 부위 및 이전 자세를 고려한 효율적 공구자세를 사용하여 공구경로를 산출하였으며, 시뮬레이터를 통해 그 유효성을 검증하였다.

  • 영상검색은 문자위주의 검색을 한계로, 그 내용에 기반 한 특징벡터를 이용하여 검색을 수행한다. 특징벡터간의 거리를 계산하고 그 값들에 순위를 매긴다. 이렇게 얻어진 순위 값들을 가지고 사용된 검색방법의 유효성을 검사하는데 Recall/Precision 방법이 이용되고 있다. 질의영상과 같은 군에 속하는 영상이 얼마나 검출되었는지를 검출된 영상에 기반하여 계산하거나, 영상 군에 기반하여 계산하는 방법들이다. 그러나, 검출되는 순위값의 범위를 정하고, 그 범위 내에 속하는 만족하는 값의 개수를 세는 방법을 이용한다. 따라서 주어진 두 샘플의 전체적인 경향을 비교하지는 못한다. 본 연구에서는 순위를 이용하여 비교하고자 하는 두 샘플의 순위들을 결합하여 순위를 매기고 각 샘플들에 매겨진 순위값들의 평균과 분산을 이용하여 각 샘플들을 전체적으로 비교할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, an effective ionization coefficient for 4H-SiC is extracted in the form of c .E$^{m}$ from ionization coefficients of electron and hole. Analytical expressions for critical electric field and breakdown voltage of 4H-SiC p$^{+}$n junction are derived by employing the effective ionization coefficient. The analytic results agree well with the experimental ones reported within 10% in error for the doping concentration in the range of 10$^{15}$ cm$^{-3}$ ~10$^{18}$ cm$^{-3}$ . .

  • The characteristics of fatigue crack growth subject to out-of-plane bending fatigue are studied in terms of crack opening behavior by using pre-cracked smooth specimens. Crack opening stress is measured by an elastic compliance method which may precisely and continuously provide many date using strain gages during experiment. The results of the short crack and the long crack arranged by crack closure concept show that the effective stress gange ratio of short crack is grester than that of long crack, and ano- malous growth behavior of short crack may be elucidated by the variation of crack opening stress. When the variation of fatigue crack growth rate is arranged versus effective stress intensity factor range. Iinear relation is held also for the short crack. It shows that growth behavior of short crack can be quantitatively represent- ed by the fracture mechanics parameter using effective stress intensity factor range.

A Study on Field Application of Preventive Maintenance Method for Flexible Pavements (연성포장의 예방적 유지보수공법에 대한 현장 적용성 연구)

  • This paper presents minimum area repair method that is one of the preventive maintenance techniques in asphalt concrete pavements. In this method, a 70cm-width as an effective repair zone was suggested considering the conventional longitudinal damages (rutting and fatigue cracking) in early stages. In addition, the repair zone can be readjusted according to the pavement damage levels. A field test bed was constructed to verify the adaptness for the repair method. Test results revealed that the minimum area repair method can be adopted as a preventive maintenance technique in flexible pavements to recover an appropriate serviceability level. The preventive maintenance method may be one of the major maintenance methods of flexible pavements with an appropriate application. It is also noted that the method may be a long term maintenance cost effective and pavement life ensuring one.

  • Optimal net residual dispersion (NRD) and effective launching power range of optical transmission links with optical phase conjugator (OPC) and dispersion management (DM) for compensating the distorted wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals due to interaction of group velocity dispersion (GVD) and optical nonlinear effects. WDM systems considered in this research have optical links with the random distribution of residual dispersion per span (RDPS) in each single mode fiber (SMF) spans of only one half transmission section for designing the adaptive optical transmission system configurations. It is confirmed that optimal NRD is 10 ps/nm and effective launching power range is obtained to be -8~1 dBm under NRD = 10 ps/nm in optical links with total dispersion controlled by precompensation. And, it is also confirmed that optimal NRD is -10 ps/nm and effective launching power range is obtained to be -7.5~1 dBm under NRD = -10 ps/nm in optical links with total dispersion controlled by postcompensation.

Signal Coverages of DGPS Beacon Stations in Korea (우리나라 DGPS 보정국의 위치보정신호의 이용범위)

  • For the purpose of comparison between the designed coverage and actual coverage of Korean DGPS (Differential Global Position System) beacon stations, we have received the ship‘s positions with states and IDs of their stations on the navigation route of Jeju-Tianjin by automatic selection mode of DGPS receiver and on them of Jeju-Inchun and Jeju-Vladibostok by manual mode. Also in case that some obstructions were on propagation routes from DGPS beacon stations to receiving positions, a restriction on available ranges of DGPS beacon signals was investigated. The results obtained are as follows : 1. The coverage of Korean DGPS beacon stations was designed 100NM (Nautical mails) at 40.0dB(over ${\mu}$V/m). But the actual coverages of them according to their stations and propagation routes were 0.3-3.6 times as wide as designed coverage. 2. In case that the propagation route of beacon signals from DGPS beacon stations was on the sea, the propagation distance of north direction from the stations was longer than south direction. 3. The coverages of Echongdo and Ulungdo stations were 366NM on the yellow sea and 342.3NM on the east sea of Korea respectively, and were widest than any other stations. 4. The coverage of Marado station on the south and yellow seas of Korea was very unstable because of the Halla mountain on the propagation route. Maximum receiving range to be measured by automatic selection mode of DGPS receiver was 145NM on the route of Jeju-Tianjin on June 22-July 1, 2002. Minimum receiving range to be not measured by manual selection mode was 28.7NM on the route of Jeju-Inchun on June 26-28, 2003
