The study population consisted of 162 young children's mothers and teachers from seven kindergartens in A city. Data were collected from June 1 to June 30, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of 73 items about maternal self-efficacy, children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive methods and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 22.0 version. The study results were as follows. First, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with the activeness of children's preschool adjustment. Second, children's ego-resilience was significantly positively(+) correlated with children's preschool adjustment. Third, regarding the relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment, while children's ego-resilience was strongly positively(+) correlated with maternal self-efficacy and children's preschool adjustment. In conclusion, this study finding of a positive(+) relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions indicates that children's ego-resilience is a reliable predictor of children's preschool adjustment. These study results imply that children's ego-resilience is strongly influenced by children's preschool adjustment.

Based on the collected data, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis are as follows. First, the higher the job stress of the kindergarten teacher, the lower the life satisfaction, and the higher the ego-resilience, the higher the life satisfaction. In particular, the reward, a sub-variable of job stress, had a significant negative correlation with the kindergarten teacher's ego-resilience and life satisfaction. Second, the predictors of relationship resilience, energy, and reward significantly influenced the life satisfaction of kindergarten teachers, and the relationship resilience was relatively explanatory about life satisfaction. This study suggests that an educational plan to be explored to improve ego-resilience for kindergarten teacher's life satisfaction.

This study found that the group of teachers with the education level of junior college graduation or higher showed higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of teachers with a lower level of education. And the group of teachers at kindergartens showed a higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of teachers at day care centers. Regarding the difference according to the level of ego-resiliency, the group of higher ego-resiliency showed higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of lower ego-resiliency. In terms of teachers' teaching strategies for the behavioral problems, differences were recognized at sub-categories. To explain, differences were recognized in accordance with the teachers' age and career as well as their education level and work place; the higher the teachers' age, career, and education the more often they used the positive prevention strategy I. And teachers at kindergartens resorted to the negative response strategies more often than those at day care centers. Finally, the teaching strategies for the behavioral problems according to the teachers' ego-resiliency, group differences were seen in all the sub categories. The result of this study suggested that the need to develop and apply such programs for pre-service teachers and for teacher reeducation reflect those variables.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a children's ego-resilience measurement scale and to examine the reliability and validity of the developed scale. Subjects consisted of 289 children of age 3 to 5 attending kindergarten and daycare centers located in Gwangju city and Chonnam province. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and reliability analysis were conducted using SPSS 18.0 and Amos 18.0 programs. The children's ego resilience scale consists of 26 items of 5 factors(attention concentration, emotion control, self efficacy, empathy, peer relationship) after the exploratory factor analysis. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that RMSEA is .059, NNFI is .901 and CFI is .913. Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient were acceptable with this study's scale and KPRC. Chronbach ${\alpha}$ were also acceptable. Thus, the developed children's ego resilience measurement scale is reliable and valid.
