Sediment Deposition and Future Spatial Distribution of Sediment in Saemangeum Freshwater Lake (새만금 담수호의 유사퇴적량 및 장래퇴적분포 추정)

  • 본 연구에서는 새만금 담수호로 유입되는 유사량과 담수호의 장래퇴적분포를 추정하였다. GIS(Geographic Information System)와 범용토양유실량식(Universal Soil Loss Equation; USLE)을 적용하여 새만금 담수호 상류유역에서 발생하는 토양유실량을 산정하고, 총유실량-유사운송비(sediment delivery ratio) 법을 이용하여 담수호로 유입되는 유사량을 추정하였다. USLE에 의한 총 유실량은 2,804 천ton/yr, 새만금 소유역별 평균 유사운송비는 12%, 담수호 유입유사량은 328 천ton/yr으로 추정되었다. 새만금 담수호의 유효저수량과 유입량에 의한 포착효율(trap efficiency)을 고려하여 담수호에 실제 퇴적되는 양을 추정하고 새만금 담수호의 표고별 장래퇴적분포는 Lara method (USBR method)을 이용하였다. 새만금 담수호의 유사퇴적량은 302 천ton/yr으로 산정되었으며, Lara method에 의한 추정결과 5년, 10년 후 각각 새만금 담수호의 내용적이 0.4%, 0.7% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

Estimation of Sediment Yield to Asan Bay Using the USLE and GIS (GIS와 USLE를 이용한 아산만 유입 유사량 추정)

  • Geographic Information System (GIS) combined with Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) was used to estimate the soil erosion of Asan Bay experiment watershed in Korea. Spatial data for each USLE factors were obtained from the Landsat-5 TM remote sensing images and 1/25,000 scale digital contour maps. Sediment yield to Asan Bay was estimated by the sediment delivery ratio and trap efficiency. The estimated sediment yield was compared with observed on the Asan and Sapgyo estuary sub-watershed within Asan Bay experimental watershed for the period from 1981 to 2000. The calculated total annual sediment yields from Asan and Sapgyo estuary sub-watershed to Asan Bay were 5,665tonnes/yr and 6,766tonnes/yr, respectively. The measured sediment yields were 12,937tonnes/yr and 12,395tonnes/yr, respectively on an average.

  • 정보시스템을 구축하기 위한 기술구조는 90년대 초까지의 호스트 중심의 기술구조에서 PC보급의 확대로 인해 Client/server 환경의 기술구조를 급격하게 발전시켜 왔다. 그러나 Client/server 구조는 사용이 간편하고 시스템 확장이 용이하다는 장점에도 불구하고 Client 관리에 큰 문제점이 나타났다. Client/server 관리의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 웹 환경의 인터넷/인트라넷 구조의 기술발전이 꾸준히 이루어졌으며, 현재는 Client/server와 같은 안정적인 OLTP(Online Transaction Processing)를 처리할 수 있는 수준까지 발전하였다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 운송정보시스템은 웹 환경의 인터넷/인트라넷을 이용한 시스템으로서, 중ㆍ소 운송업체와 자가 운송 사업자가 운송정보시스템을 구축하는데 있어서 초기 투자비용을 줄이고, 시스템의 유지 보수 및 확장이 용이한 ASP(Application Service Provider) 서비스를 효과적으로 제공한다. 이것은 차량의 위치정보를 통해 배차현황/출하차현황/도착현황/공차현황 등 물류 흐름을 파악하기 위한 운송 정보를 실시간으로 제공하고, 동종 유사 업체간의 표준화된 자료를 교환, 공유함으로써 효율적인 차량 관리가 가능하며, 물류비를 전감 할 수 있고, 작업의 효율성을 증대시켜 원활한 운송업무가 이루어지게 할 수 있을 것이다.

Predictive Equations for Deposits and Sediment Yields at Irrigation Reservoirs (관개용 저수지의 퇴사량과 유역 유사량 추정식)

  • The objectives of this paper were to develop predictive equations for reservoir deposits and watershed sediment yields based on sediment survey data for irrigation reservoirs. Hundred reservoirs of various sizes, which have the surveyed data for sediment deposits, were chosen and fourteen watershed physiological and hydrological parameters were investigated. Correlationships between watershed parameters and sediment deposits were investigated and a best fit regression equation was derived, which may be applied for estimating reservoir sediment deposits. The sediment deposits were converted to the watershed sediment yields by applying the trap efficiencies and specific weights. The resulting sediment yields were related to watershed parameters and an empirical predictive equation was also proposed that may be used for rough estimations of watershed sediment yields.

  • 유사량은 하천의 단면을 단위시간 동안 통과하는 토사의 양을 의미하며, 하천 구조물의 설계 및 유지관리를 위한 기본자료로 활용된다. 유사량은 하천 유역의 지형적인 특성과 기상요소에 영향을 받으며, 이를 규명하기 위한 많은 연구들이 수행되어 왔다. GIS기반의 유사량 예측모델로서 국내에서는 개정범용토양유실공식과 유사운송비(Sediment Delivery Ratio)를 이용하여 유역단위 유사량을 예측하는 연구가 이루어져왔다. Gavrilovi$\acute{c}$ 모델은 유역의 총 연유사량을 예측하고 토양침식의 정도를 정량화할 수 있는 경험적 모형으로 지질 및 토양, 지형조건, 기후인자(연평균 강우량, 연평균 온도), 토지이용의 6가지 입력변수로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구는 Gavrilovi$\acute{c}$ 모델의 국내 적용성을 검토하기 위한 것으로서, 왕숙천 유역을 대상으로 Gavrilovi$\acute{c}$ 모델을 적용하여 유사량을 산정해본 결과, 실측값을 약 20% 내외로 비교적 근사하게 추정할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Estimating Sediment Deposits and Trap Efficiencies for Irrigation Reservoirs (관개용 저수지의 퇴사량과 포착효율의 추정)

  • The objectives of this paper were to apply the gross erosion and sediment delivery ration method for estimating sediment deposits at selected reservoirs of various sizes, and to define their trap efficiencies. Twenty reservoirs that have sediment survey data were selected and the annual average soil losses from subareas within each watershed were estimated using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The gross erosion was defined fro the soil losses and estimated channel erosion. By applying the sediment delivery ratios that were defined from an empirical relationship with watershed areas, net incoming sediment yields at reservoirs were defined. Trap efficiencies were applied, sediment deposits estimated, and compared to the surveyed data. The results were in general agreement with the data. Trap efficiencies were also defined from the ratios of sediment deposits to incoming sediment yields. They were within 20% differences from Brune curve, which indicates that Brune curve may be applied for irrigation reservoirs. And an empirical relationship was proposed, that appeared more reliable for estimating trap efficiencies for typical irrigation reservoirs.

  • This paper presents a mathematical formulation for container slot chartering model through strategic alliance between liner shipping companies. This paper develops a solution procedure to apply the model to real world problems and its applicability is demonstrated by a numerical example. The model presented in this paper has some important features which have never been considered in the previous researches. The model is linear model and pursuits profit maximization. And also it considers slot chartering capacity selection. This paper attempts to perform sensitivity analysis and compares slot chartering model with basic non-collaborating model in which there is no alliance and collaboration. As a result of sensitivity analysis, some interesting findings are obtained; Even though freight rate is more and more decreasing, the profit by slot chartering model is always higher than the basic model but the profit gaps become smaller. But The ratio of the profit gap to the profit of basic model is more increasing.

  • The purpose of this study is to predict the railway cargo volume on Busan new-port and north-port, in order to revitalize railway transport. This paper is organized as follows. Section 1 presents the description of the objective and methods on this study. Section 2 presents the status of Railway Cargo volumes and Construction plan of railway facilities in Busan New port. Section 3 presents the Forecast Railway Cargo volume using a volume ratio, actual volume records and another predicted datas. Section 4 summarizes our conclusions and further research topics. Especially, korea faces enforcement of green Logistics policy. Modal shift to trail freight transportation is one of ways, but there are no more detail plans. so it need that a cooperation system in government department, a indirect subside policy shift to rail freight transportation from trucking for revitalization of Railway Freight transportation.

The Concept of "Accident" under the Warsaw System (국제항공운송협약상(國際船空運送協約上) 사고(事故)의 개념(槪念))

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of "accident" under the Warsaw system including the Warsaw Convention for the Unification of certain Rules for International Carriage by Air of 1929 and the Montreal Convention of 1999. Most leading case on this subject is Air France v. Saks(470 U.S. 392 (1985)). In the Saks case, it was held that the definition of an accident must be applied flexibly, and most courts have adhered to the definition of accident in Saks case, the application of accident has been less than consistent. However, most cases have held that if the event is usual and expected operation of the aircraft, then no accident has occurred. Courts have also held that where the injury results from passenger's own internal reaction to the usual, normal, and expected operations of the aircraft, it is not caused by an accident. As the Warsaw drafters intended to create a system of liability rules that would cover all hazards of air travel, the carrier should liable for the inherent risks of air travel. It is right in that the carrier is in a better position than the passenger to control the risks during air travel. Most US courts have held that carriers are not liable for one passenger's assault on the other passenger. The interactions between passengers are not part of the normal operations of the aircraft and are therefore not covered by the word "accident" under Art 17 of the Warsaw Convention. It is regretful that the Montreal Convention did not attempt to clarify the concepts of accident in itself. In the light of an emerging tendency to hold the air carrier liable for occurrences that do not exactly go to the operation of the aircraft, it is desirable to regulate that the carrier is liable for an "event" instead of an "accident" in accordance with the Guatemala City protocol.

  • There has been an interesting trend showing that the number of tankers owned by major oil company has been decreasing since the 1980s, while the number of tankers chartered by them is increasing. So do Korea oil refineries in the period 1990s. Therefore, the following question is raised: Why have oil refinery companies, national and international, been much more dependent upon chartered ships than their owned ships since 1980s\ulcorner This paper tried to answer the above question. In so, doing ten decision-making factors for fleet composition of oil tankers are drawn through literature survey on the research topic with questionnaires and interviews to the four big Korean oil refineries.
