Study on Strategic Plan of U-Forest for Implementation U-Land (U-Land 구축을 위한 U-Forest 전략 수립 연구)

  • Since the beginning of 2000, the ubiquitous technology rapidly has been at center of public concerns, and application of the ubiquitous technology is expanding in Korea with U-City as the center. U-City is currently planned and built by local governments, but the applicable range of the ubiquitous technology should be expanded in the future to build U-Territory and U-Land projects. As a part of this, U-forest should also be implemented, and that now is the time to gain support in policy and systematic initiative. Therefore, this study defines U-Forest concept to implement valuable national resources, healthy land environment, and pleasant green space by using ubiquitous technology as an effective way to produce, manage, use, and distribute the forest. In order to establish strategy for U-Forest, it has considered basic forest plan, k-Forest, and FGIS projects, and has drawn a service model pertaining to them. Also, it has proposed the need to establish the basic plan for U-Forest, and suggested details to include in the plan.

A study on the performance improvement of an adaptive, real-time traffic assignment scheduler using the TP coefficient (TP 계수를 이용한 적응적 실시간 트래픽 할당 스케듈러의 성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • As recent fusion industry and ubiquitous technology have grown fast, network contents, which require high load, are provided in various infrastructures and facilities such as u-city and smart phones. Therefore, it is anticipated that the playback quality of multimedia compared to network loads degrades dramatically due to the drastic increment of real-time reference of conventional high load contents (eg. multimedia data). In this paper, we improved the method of the traffic assignment based on MPP which elevated the playback quality of multimedia by assigning discriminately the possible traffic of MMS with TP coefficients. When the TP coefficient which combines content preference with media preference was applied to a real-time traffic assignment scheduler, the simulation results showed that the multimedia playback stream was assigned within the possible traffic of a server. The real-time scheduling algorithm was improved by using the TP coefficient that combines the time-dependent image contents and the weighted value of media preference. It was observed from the experiment that the loss of the possible traffic decreases to 3.91% and 3.88% for three and four clients respectively.

  • In this paper we design and implement a sensor network management framework(SNMF) for ubiquitous sensor networks(USNs). The SNMF employs the policy-based management approach for the autonomous and energy-efficient management of USNs. Moreover, a new light-weight policy distribution protocol called TinyCOPS-PR is designed and USN PIB for low-level policy is also defined. This allows the high-level policies defined by an administrator to translate into the specific low-level policies. The low-level policies are executed on sensor nodes so it can fulfill the proper management actions. The sensor nodes that receive some policies from an administrator perform local management actions according to those policies. SNMF can therefore realize small energy consumption and bring long network lifetime. It can also manage USNs automatically with a minimum of human interference.

Clustering Algorithm for Efficient Energy Management in Sensor Network (센서 네트워크에서의 효율적 에너지 관리를 위한 클러스터링 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a clustering algorithm for efficient energy management of sensor network consisted of sensor nodes that have restricted energy to solve these problem. Proposed algorithm improves energy efficiency by controlling sensing power. And it has distinctive feature that is applied in various network environment. The performance evaluation result shows that the energy efficiency is improved by 5% in the case of all sensor node fixed and by $10{\sim}15%$ in the case of all sensor node moving. It is confirmed through experiment process that the proposed algorithm brings energy efficiency ratio improvement of $5{\sim}15%$ more than the existing algorithm. Proposed algorithm derived an upper bound on the energy efficiency for Ubiquitous Computing environment that have various network environment that is with ZigBee technology of IEEE 802.15.4 bases. Also, we can blow bring elevation for lifetime of sensor network greatly for lifetime of sensor node as is small. And we think that may expand practical use extent of a sensor network technology more in fast changed network environment.

  • In this paper, Though sensors of Ubiquitous Middle-ware System based on RFID/USN can usually be reacted from six mouths to two years, they can be exhausted their power of storage battery only one day by communication rates and ranges. That is, the lifetime of sensor node is depended on how much spending power under wireless communication that can communicate its sensing data to its destination. Therefore, it is necessary that each sensor should be designed the Routing path to its destination, in order to remote collecting data. But, in order to improve lifetime of sensor node and modify inner setting, it is opposite to simple searching path method of sensor node by entering external commands. accordingly, 1:n sensor arrangement of n form command and data send-receive that is possible simulation do without interference other sensors and research to different sensor data analysis and conversion ways to convert Sensing data that accept from sensors to actuality information.

  • Due to the issues such as omission of data, document based management, maintenance based on measurement data and wire-based network, it is difficult existing maintenance system for railway bridges to act to diverse characteristics of site and environmental changes in real time. With these reasons, there are many constraints in establishing active maintenance strategies for railway bridges. To solve these issues, this study suggests an integrated maintenance business model based on practical utilization and information management based on BIM technology to build a smart maintenance operation system based on ubiquitous computing for railway bridges. To secure its development and practical applications, a quantitative evaluation by questionnaire analysis was performed. Therefore, it is expected that the suggested model will be utilized as a framework model in order to build the smart maintenance operation system from collection of maintenance data to action for railway bridges.

  • This paper designed an Internet Convention e-Portal Information System through an experience and knowledges accumulated in case of information utilization regarding international meeting and conventions in knowledge information societies. Established the Non-stop Cluster system that was the H/W side, L4 and the applied system which was the 3-tier structure and Firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS security control system, S/W side, that utilized the WAS MVC architecture used WAS and a SOA architecture. an ASP EAI function. A user and a manager, designs and constructor, the user efficiency who were an evaluation basis of a Verification commissioner, Ubiquitous evaluated system stability. Information security anger, and evaluated former system and comparison. Therefore is evaluated to the excellent Convention e-Portal Systems that a performance 25.9% improvement consisted of compare with the existing Convention e-Portal Systems, and will contribute so as to be able to carry out-driven enemy role in development of the industrial our country Convention Ubiquitous Internet IT information Industry and International Society Conventions.

  • By the rapid progress of U-IT(Ubiquitous Information Technology), a variety of national development policies have been devised on the basis of the utilization of the technology Above all things, a number of local governments are driving to construct a 3D GIS(Geographical Information System) that is as a infrastructure for the regional development which is including a u-City construction as a future city model, the competitiveness reinforcement of local governments, a reasonable means of urban management, etc. In this study we tried to find the fundamental direction of construction and utilization of 3D GIS in local governments. As the result of study, we suggested the advanced vision of 3D GIS has a role of treating the public affairs of local governments and of supporting the various private business scope.

  • The present level of ubiquitous computing technology have developed to the point where Home-server provides services that user require directly for user in the intelligent space. But it will need intelligent system to provides more active services for user in the near future. In this paper, we define the environment information about situation that user is in as Context, and collect the Context that stereotype as 4W1H form for construct the system that can decision service will be provide from information about a situation that user is in, without user's involvement. Additionally we collect information about user's emotional state, use these informations as nodes of Bayesian network for probabilistic reasoning. From that, we materialize Context Awareness system about it that what kind of situation user is in. And, we propose the Context-based Service reasoning model using Bayesian Network from the result of Context Awareness.

  • Too much information exists in ubiquitous environment, and therefore it is not easy to obtain the appropriately classified information from the available data set. Decision tree algorithm is useful in the field of data mining or machine learning system, as it is fast and deduces good result on the problem of classification. Sometimes, however, a decision tree may have leaf nodes which consist of only a few or noise data. The decisions made by those weak leaves will not be effective and therefore should be excluded in the decision process. This paper proposes a method using a classifier, UChoo, for solving a classification problem, and suggests an effective method of decision process involving only the important leaves and thereby excluding the noisy leaves. The experiment shows that this method is effective and reduces the erroneous decisions and can be applied when only important decisions should be made.
