Hair Design Kite that uses the Organic Form of Nature (자연의 유기적 형태를 응용한 헤어디자인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to produce works with motifs from organic forms of nature and to try to drive various forms. As a research method, literature was investigated through rsearch in domestic academic jounals, and four hair sculptures that can be used easily in practice were produced by combining the organic forms and design concepts of nature. As a result of the study, first, the work was produced by applying the law of harmony and balance with the motif of the crescent moon. Second, the flow of wave waves was expressed by applying the law of repetition with the motif of waves. Third, the haze rising from the waterfall was expressed by applying the law of dissonance. Fourth, l tried to give the image of the sun announcing a new beginning by emphasizing the rising sun. As a result, it can be seen that the organic form of nature gives an embarrassing inspiration to create design. The limitation of this study is that the accuracy of producing works only with mannequins and producing the same image in the actual model should be limited, and as a follow-up study, research that can be used in the actual model should be continuously conducted.

  • Alvar Aalto has pursued National Romanticism, cultural art movement in scandinavian peninsula, organic concepts of growth and suitability, comprehensive view of nature including a possibility of coexistance of human-being and the nature well harmonized. For instance, his design expressed local features of the nature, human emotions instead of geometical arts and mathematical principles. It is noteworthy today that he built up the identity with satrical architecture vocabularies, different from modern arch-itechtural idiology. The characte-ristics of his design related to interior architecture are collectively as follows; The first, Space discontinuity of the interior and exterior, gradual process by joints which are inclined to collage with many shapes in plan and section of the space and such joints are adjusted by sensual ways and stressed with inner collectivity in his works. The second, He pursued the architectural orderfor modern irreqularity, various changes and sensual harmonies. As result, free curved line, fan shape and irregular modeling were individually expressed by technics of natural features and national characteristics of Finland. The third, Organic synthesis. A harmony through med-ums in its space, materials and space effectiveness relations are made and expressed for mixed design especially harmonized of all the materials he planned, entire harmony with total design, itemized details, materials and furnitures in entire space. The fourth, The interest of the nature based on his sense harmonized with nature made him mainly use native materials, lumbers and red bricks masonry and showed and arranged various interior sky light and grazed in to let natural light in, harmony with garden to sensually cohere to the nature and courtyard, etcetera. His major subject are to direct architectural developments through the nature and human-being in his works. At this point, it is considered that his direction of the locality and independence as a human-being made the concepts of organic space structure possible.

  • 근래에 들어 제품개발에 있어 사용자를 최우선에 놓아 디자인하려는 사용자 중심 디자인에 대한 연구가 활발해지면서 사용자 관찰법(user observation), 사용성 평가(usability testing) 등과 간은 다양한 방법이 활용되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 방법들은 아직 사용자 중심 디자인 을 위해 효과적으로 활용되기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 대한 이유는 여러 가지를 들 수 있으 나 우선 이들 방법의 활용시, 특히 수집된 데이터의 분석과 저장시 소요되는 많은 불필요한 노력과 시간이다. 다음으로 이들 각 방법들은 제품개발의 어떤 특정 단계만의 활용을 위해 개발되었기 때문에 전체적 개발 프로세스의 관점에서 상호 유기적으로 잘 연결되지 못한다는 문제가 있게 된다. 이에 본 연구는 제품개발 전 과정에 걸쳐 활용될 수 있는 사용자 중심 디자인 방법을 살펴보고 이들에 적용될 수 있는 통합적 컴퓨터 지원 시스템을 개발하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고 있다. 제품개발 프로세스를 사용자의 니즈 분석단계, 인터렉션 디자인을 위한 아이디어 도출단계, 컨셉의 개발단계, 제품의 사용성 평가단계로 나누고 이들 각단계 에 요구되는 각 방법들의 특성을 파악하여 컴퓨터 응용방법의 기본 프레임웍을 제시한다.

디지털 디자인 및 패브리케이션 통합 스튜디오 교육 사례 소개 -조지아텍 디지털빌딩랩에서의 인테리어패널 제작

  • 본 글을 통해 학생들과 함께 수행한 다양한 디지털 디자인 모델을 기반으로 5가지의 디지털 패브리케이션 방식을 적용하여 여러 실제 인테리어패널의 제작 과정 및 그 결과물들을 요약적으로 소개하였다. 해당 과정은 기존의 분리된 설계와 제작 및 시공이 아닌, 설계-제작 통합적인 접근방법을 활용함으로써 학생들로 하여금 디지털 디자인과 패브리케이션의 효과를 극대화 할 수 있음을 체득하도록 하였다. 패브리케이션 기기 및 재료 등의 차이점에 따라 실제 구현된 모델과 원래의 디지털 모델과의 형상적인 차이점은 아직까지 한계점으로 남을 수 있지만, 비정형적으로 생성된 디지털 디자인의 형상이 직접적으로 실현이 가능하다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. 또한 패러매트릭 모델링 기법이나 실제 제작 경험이 거의 없는 학생들을 대상으로 개별적인 교육이 아닌 설계-제작 통합적인 교육을 실시함으로써 각 요소들이 어떻게 유기적으로 관련되어 디지털 디자인 과정이나 패브리케이션과정에서 상호 보완적으로 중요한지 직접 체득할 수 있도록 하였다는데 의의가 있다. 본 글에서 소개한 재료를 깎는 등의 방식인 "마이너스"의 방식이 아닌 3D프린팅과 같이 재료를 이용해 만들어가는 "플러스"적인 방식 또한 해당 사례에서 수행되었으며 마찬가지로 다양한 특성을 지니고 있으나, 본 글에서는 전자의 방식에 대해 주로 논하였다. 본 글에서 다룬 제작기법뿐만 아니라 3D프린팅 기술의 발전과 보급에 따라 디지털 패브리케이션 역시 다양하게 진보하고 있으며, 팹랩 등을 통한 학교에서의 건축설계 교육도 다양하게 진화하고 있다. 본 사례 및 기타 실험적인 교육과 선도적인 여러 시도를 통해서, 디지털 디자인과 패브리케이션 영역을 확장시켜나가고 해당 기술의 발전에 적극적으로 보조할 수 있는 교육과정을 수립하고 이행하는데 일조 할 수 있기를 희망한다.

  • Oullim is Vital principle Which allows humanity to continue its inherent culture. By proposing the evaluative authority of the creative significance of the invention of Hangul and its formation and superiority from the stand point of Oullim, I would like to focus on Hangul's creative significance on the grounds of 'broadly profound design'. The ideas of Hunminchongum's invention id based on the philosophy of Great Absolute. The philosophy of Great Absolute is natural phenomenon and metaphysical understanding of cosmology. But King Sejong could keep a good balance between identity and practicality. It is a high value of Hangul. The main idea of design is seeking for principle of nature and systematical vitality. King Sejong also put this main idea of design in practice for inventing Hunminchongum. In the process, Oullim appeared as an essential function for the Great Design.

  • Recently, one of the outstanding characteristics in design field shows that design is combined with marketing. However, one thing shouldn't be overlooked that original marketing theories are not able to be applied to design in itself because of difference between marketing mind and design thinking. This premise leads the purpose of the study to aim to establish academic frameworks of design marketing by re-organizing conceptual elements of design marketing which can be more suitable for design environment. The study leads to review emergence backgrounds and circumstances of design marketing regarding the disciplinary characteristic of design. Then it examines fundamental concepts of traditional marketing. Next it, based on research results above, suggests the 4Cs as conceptual elements of design marketing which might be fit for design environment. Last it proposes 4C Mix which can be effectively applicable in design development process by restructuring newly suggested conceptual elements synergistically. The study result contributes to several implications in academic and practical perspective. First, it recreates theoretical concept elements of design marketing based on elements of traditional marketing area. Second, it suggests market-oriented framework which can be practically applied in the design development process by designers.

  • Organic Modernism was inaugurated by Alvar Valto as an alternative plan to the formative limitation of Geometrical Modernism. It began to appear in the 1930s in the fields of Architecture, Furniture, Product Design and so on. It is known that began with organic formative language is closely related to surrealistic artists Andre Breton as well as other artists and sculptors in that era. Such Formative Language formalized a stream of Organic Modernism Furniture Design unique to the regional and cultural characteristics of Scandinavia. After crossing over to America, mass production of Furniture was born and new materials were linked by industrialization. The Characteristics of Organic Formation in Modern Art such as Three -Dimensional, Biological Morphological, Symbolical, Primitive, Fantastical, Non-Realistic, Incidental, Irregular, transmit to Furniture Design. They are as Characteristics especially with Three-Dimensional, Biological Morphological and Symbolical aspects. Histories of Art and design, there are some examples showing mutual Interchange between Functional and Artistic Character. This thesis also clarifies the Formative Relationship that the Furniture designers who pursued Functionality and Mass Production had obtained from Modern Artistic works and the Artists, through the process of comparing and researching the typical Artists and their works.

  • Human beings are perhaps most outstanding in longing for the beauty in order. The natural form have a power to be self-respect and also a repetitious pattern. Such natural forms will be the source of design, its constituent principles. Such natural forms will be the source of design, its constituent principle is that the minimum energy system constitutes the maximum and various systems, its forms come int being during the harmony of forces, and various systems, its forms come into being during the harmony of forces, and it has a light structure to surmount any influence resulting from the increasement of its size. Therefore, in organizing space, such order of natural forms will provide space with vitality and can express the relation of freedom as order.
