Availability Assessment of Single Frequency Multi-GNSS Real Time Positioning with the RTCM-State Space Representation Parameters (RTCM-SSR 보정요소 기반 1주파 Multi-GNSS 실시간 측위의 효용성 평가)

  • With stabilization of the recent multi-GNSS infrastructure, and as multi-GNSS has been proven to be effective in improving the accuracy of the positioning performance in various industrial sectors. In this study, in view that SF(Single frequency) GNSS receivers are widely used due to the low costs, evaluate effectiveness of SF Real Time Point Positioning(SF-RT-PP) based on four multi-GNSS surveying methods with RTCM-SSR correction streams in static and kinematic modes, and also derive response challenges. Results of applying SSR correction streams, CNES presented good results compared to other SSR streams in 2D coordinate. Looking at the results of the SF-RT-PP surveying using SF signals from multi-GNSS, were able to identify the common cause of large deviations in the altitude components, as well as confirm the importance of signal bias correction according to combinations of different types of satellite signals and ionospheric delay compensation algorithm using undifferenced and uncombined observations. In addition, confirmed that the improvement of the infrastructure of Multi-GNSS allows SF-RT-SPP surveying with only one of the four GNSS satellites. In particular, in the case of code-based SF-RT-SPP measurements using SF signals from GPS satellites only, the difference in the application effect between broadcast ephemeris and SSR correction for satellite orbits/clocks was small, but in the case of ionospheric delay compensation, the use of SBAS correction information provided more than twice the accuracy compared to result of the Klobuchar model. With GPS and GLONASS, both the BDS and GALILEO constellations will be fully deployed in the end of 2020, and the greater benefits from the multi-GNSS integration can be expected. Specially, If RT-ionospheric correction services reflecting regional characteristics and SSR correction information reflecting atmospheric characteristics are carried out in real-time, expected that the utilization of SF-RT-PPP survey technology by multi-GNSS and various demands will be created in various industrial sectors.

  • In ocean field, the spread of the Fourth Industrial Revolution based on information and communication technology requires high precision and stable PNT&D (Position, Navigation, Timing and Data). As the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and IALA (The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities) are requiring backup systems due to mitigate vulnerabilities and the increase of dependency on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), Korea is conducting a research & development of R-Mode. An DGPS (Differentiate Global Positioning System) reference station that uses MF, an existing maritime infrastructure, and AIS (Automatic Identification System) base stations that use 34 integrity station and VHF will be utilized in this study to avoid redundant investment. Because there are radio shadow areas that display low signal levels in the west sea, the establishment of new R-Mode reference and integrity station will be intended to resolve problems regrading the radio shadow area. Because the frequency has a characteristic in that radio wave transmits well along the ground (water surface) in low frequency band, simulation and measurement were conducted therefore this paper to propose candidate sites for R-Mode reference and integrity station resulted through p wave's propagation characteristics analysis. Using this paper, R-Mode reference and integrity station can be established at appropriate locations to resolve radio shadow areas in other regions.

  • 현재 운영 중인 DGPS RSIM은 다중 GPS/GNSS 수신기를 이용하여 의사거리 기반 보정정보와 그 무결성 기능을 제공하고 있다. 기준국 시스템 기반 무결성 기능 강화를 위하여, 본 논문에서는 기준국 수신기를 기반으로 전파간섭을 검출할 수 있는 간이 기법과 모니터링 시스템에 대해 다룬다. 기준국 시스템에 전파간섭의 영향을 받게 되었을 경우, 전파간섭 검출을 위한 신규 시스템을 추가하지 않고, 기준 운영 시스템, 즉 기준국 수신기의 실시간 원시정보 출력과 RSIM 메시지의 세부 파라미터 정보를 이용하여 전파간섭을 검출할 수 있는 기법 제안과 그 기법을 적용한 전파간섭 모니터링 시스템을 설계하고, 시뮬레이션 결과를 제시한다. 먼저 DGPS 기준국 시스템의 구성과 기능에 대해 설명하고, 무결성 기능의 한계를 제시한다. 또한 전파간섭이 발생했을 경우 기준국 수신기에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하고, 분석 결과를 기반으로 기준국에 적용할 만한 간이 전파간섭 검출 기법과 이를 기반으로 한 시스템을 설계하여 그 활용 가능성을 제시한다. 성능평가 결과 제안한 기법 및 시스템이 국제해사기구(IMO)에서 요구하는 무결성 성능 중의 하나인 TTA(Time to Alarm) 10초 이내의 성능을 만족할 수 있음을 제시한다.

  • This paper deals with the development status of eLoran system which is the best backup position, navigation, and timing (P NT) system of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and its performance result. I t especially explains the status of eLoran testbed implementation for the eLoran test service, development of eLoran transmitting system, differential Loran (dLoran) system, integrated operation and control system (IOCS), and integrated eLoran/GNSS receiver. The paper discusses about the future plan for the build up test transmitting station and backup P NT service to succeed to the trial operation of eLoran testbed system.

  • The rover acquires its own position information using satellites signals provided by several satellites(at least four or more). For the present, GNSS systems are widely used in various fields. However, there are many factors that cause accuracy errors in positioning between rovers and GNSS satellites. Due to satellite time error, orbit error, ionospheric & convective refraction, multipath, etc., rover can't acquire precise position. Differential GPS(DGPS) and Real-Time Kinematic(RTK) have been developed as compensation techniques to reduce such errors. In this paper, we intend to develop a terminal with RTK technique to acquire precise position information of mobile station.

  • For service-area-widening and commercialization of DGNSS service, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs is developing a DGNSS service based on VRS using T-DMB. In this study, three PRC generation algorithms are developed for VRS DGNSS and their accuracies were evaluated. Three DGNSS correction generation algorithms are based on inverse distance weighting, 1st- and 2nd- multiple linear regression, and their positioning accuracies were compared in terms of the number of reference stations used for network composition and the algorithm type. As a result, the positioning accuracy of the case of using 16 sites is better than that of 6 sites. And the algorithm using the multiple linear regression showed the best performance. When the positioning accuracy of VRS DGNSS was compared with the traditional single-reference DGNSS, the improvement ratio was 20-23% and 20-36% for the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively.

  • GIS(Geographic Information System) based Positioning technique uses geographic information to predict which satellites are visible or invisible. GPS positioning has poor positioning accuracy in dense urban area where tall buildings block the satellite signals. In this paper, we proposed GIS based Advanced Positioning technique of Mobile GPS to resolve this problem. Particularly, this technique improves positioning accuracy in dense urban area. It is consist of ephemeris and GIS server. We will inversely estimate pseudorange by using NMEA-0183 output data of mobile GPS. After that, we can find more accurate position by using ephemeris and GIS information.

  • In order to prepare for increasing performance requirement for Differential Global Navigation Satellite System (DGNSS) services of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), this paper focuses on design of network-based Automatic Identification System (AIS) reference station system that can perform the functionality of Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) reference station in an AIS base station system. AIS base station receives the differential corrections from the DGPS reference station, and it is not a method for transmitting the received differential corrections to onboard AIS units, but it is a method for generating the optimized differential corrections for onboard AIS units in AIS coverage. Therefore this paper proposes an algorithm for generating the differential corrections at AIS reference station, and performs the performance assessment of the proposed algorithm based on DGPS correction data measured from a DGPS reference station. Finally this paper discusses the test results and efficiency of the proposed system.

  • This paper proposes a new system to maximize efficiency of Air Base Protection Operations through the development of location identification software. The Wibro-based location identification system for Air Base Protection Force offers Blue Ground Force digitalized character message which is not exposed to enemy. Also, it is possible to automatically provide the location of Blue Ground Force to Air Base Ground Operations Center. The test result proves that this system is very helpful when Air Base Protection Force executes Air Base Protection Operations.

  • This paper suggests an altitude determination algorithm using GPS and barometric altitude sensors and evaluates the algorithm by digital map contour. A code based GPS altitude has lots of errors so that the car navigation companies can not use this data. Therefore, altitude is calculated by convergence data with GPS and barometric altitude variance in this paper. The modified altitudes are compared with the digital map contour and then this algorithm's effect is evaluated for the car navigation systems.
