Recent increase in the number of websites as one of the most used communication channels beyond just for promotion has led to the increased need for integrated management for member websites, as well as brand sharing among websites. Studies on how to deal with website authorship issues more efficiently has been ongoing since early 2000. However, these studies have mostly dealt with single website management and were not applicable to authoring and management related issues for centralized platform for multiple websites. This study intends to design a management platform for authoring and managing of centralized websites in the education field, utilizing various designs while building websites.

The collection management paradigm has drastically changed since the emergence of collection management activities on the internet. Due to the technological development of web, web has become the newly open field as a useful tool to facilitate collection management transactions. The purpose of this study is, by evaluating web sites of the university library’s collection management in United States, to construct the contents of collection management web site. To fulfill the purpose, 6 categories for the contents of the collection management web site are suggested. The result of this study can be used as the basic data for researching of collection management web site. Web site is playing a role of stepping up its activities and informing useful information on its selection tool and collection development policy.

대학도서관 웹사이트는 도서관의 이용을 원활하게 하고 정보자료에의 접근을 용이하게 하기 위해서 구성된다. 따라서, 웹사이트를 통해 도서관 서비스에 대한 안내, 이용자의 편의를 위한 온라인 참고봉사 서비스, 과거 수동적인 자세가 아닌 능동적인 정보제공서비스 뿐만 아니라 다양한 이용자의 사용행태를 파악하여 이를 통해서 서비스의 질을 높이고, 이용자의 요구사항을 파악하여 도서관 서비스를 개선해나가는 것이 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 충남대학교 도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 설문조사(Questionnaire)와 발견적 평가(Heuristic Evaluation)를 통해서 대학도서관 웹사이트의 사용성에 있어서의 문제점을 발견하고 개선점을 제시한다.

Developing the web-based information service sites requires their own developing methodology, because the process of the web sites development become more complicate and Internet surroundings are changing rapidly. They should control all components of the system for effective and efficient web services. However there is little clear concept about systematic development and management of web service sites, in the Korean Internet service sectors, especially in information service sectors. The research analyse current situation and necessity of developing methodology, and suggest new approach for developing new methodology of the web business/service sites.

본 연구에서는 효율적인 어린이도서관 웹사이트를 설계하기 위한 인포메이션 스트럭처 및 레이블을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 국내 어린이도서관 웹사이트에서 인포메이션 스트럭처 및 정보의 내용을 표현하는데 사용된 레이블을 분석하였고, 현행 국내 어린이도서관 웹사이트가 지니고 있는 문제점을 확인하였다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 효율적인 어린이도서관 웹사이트를 설계하기 위한 기초 자료로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Recently, the website of university archives is becoming greatly significant to users who retrieve and utilize university archives and records. This study aims to meta-analyze university archives in Korea in terms of usefulness, usability, information quality, and web accessibility in order to improve the functionality and usefulness of university archives websites. The result of the study suggests that university archives should increase the number of the digital records and to develop communication chanels, such as blog, chatting room, digital reference services for activating use of university records. Secondly, university archives make efforts to develop systematic collecting and managing procedures and to build relevant digital collections. Thirdly, the websites of university archives develops more user-friendly interfaces and web design to improve user satisfaction. Finally, the websties of university archives should follow the standards on web accessibility.

In the current information environment, the concept of a website has been transformed from the repository of information to means of accessing information which can communicate and interact with users. To function well as an accessing tool to information, the information embedded in a website should be organized in a way that users can easily understand the whole informational structure. This aspect of a website might be more important to a university's website. However, the informational structures which current university's websites adopt do not reflect their users' information needs. They construct their structure uniformly, and it causes the decrease of the websites' usability. To solve these problems, this study proposes a new and systematical way of constructing a university's website which can reflect users' information needs and ensure the usability of the websites.

This study is to develope the usability evaluation criteria for improving quality of user services in digital library website. It compared and analyzed major eight studies concerning usability evaluation of library website in foreign and domestic. This paper was suggested 36 items of evaluation criteria that are belongs to six domain(quality of links, feedback mechanism, accessibility, design, navigation and searching). The number of websites in Korea is increasing rapidly as demonstrated by more than 510,000websites registered under the ".kr" domain as of the end of December 2000. In order to effectively copewith the deluge of web information and maintain ready access to useful information on the web,utilization and management of web information through websites that have been evaluated and ratedfavorably is becoming increasingly important. As websites now increasingly provide industry-specificinformation, information managers are now finding it essential to meet their specific information needsthrough separation and ranking of useful information from the rest.However, evaluation of industry-specific information requires industry-specific expertise as well asgeneral website evaluation tools. This paper develops a website evaluation model and attempts to rankindustry-specific websites through case studies of previous website evaluation and consultation withexperts in specific industries. Based on the model developed, this paper selects 100 outstanding websitesin 10 areas of construction industry. The research also hypothesizes that, with appropriate modifications,the rating models used for the construction industry can also be applied to other industries for moreefficient information management.e efficient information management.
