Performance Evaluation of the Samcheonpo Ocean Small Hydropower Plant Using Operation Results Data (운전실적자료를 이용한 삼천포 해양소수력 성능평가)

  • 발전소 온배수의 원활한 배수를 위한 설계 낙차와 함께 남서해안의 조위변화에 따른 낙차의 이용가능성을 인지하고 소수력 발전 방식과 조력발전 방식의 특정을 동시에 활용하는 해양소수력 발전소를 삼천포 화력발전소 배수로에 최초로 건설하여 운전함으로써 청정 재생에너지 개발 및 $CO_2$ 저감효과 창출에 이바지하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 삼천포 해양소수력 발전소의 운전실적 자료를 토대로 조위 및 방류량의 변화에 따른 해양소수력의 효율 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 해양소수력 발전소의 효율은 방류량과 유효 낙차의 영향을 직접적으로 받기 때문에 관측한 수위 및 방류량, 해양소수력발전소 운전실적 자료를 토대로 효율분석을 실시하였다. 우선, 소수력 가동 이후 배수로에서의 수위 상승이 명확히 나타났으며, 배수로내 위어에서의 흐름구조가 완전월류 상태에서 불완전월류로 바뀌면서 배수로 전체의 수면 불안정성이 크게 증가하였으나, 배수로의 범람이나 순환수 계통에의 큰 영향을 초래할 만한 수준은 아니었다. 성능시험 결과, 최대출력, 평균출력, 최소출력 모든 부분에서 설계 보증치 이내의 값을 보였으며, 효율 또한 설계 보중치를 상회하는 결과를 보였다. CWP 유량 분석결과, 소수력 발전소에서의 유량이 과소 측정되고 있음을 확인하였으며, 최대낙차에서 최대효율을 보이고, 저낙차일 때는 보증치보다 효율이 낮게 나타나는 결과를 보였다. 또한 조위조건을 고려한 유량을 이용하여 산정한 효율 곡선이 보증치와 가장 일치하였으며, 전체 시스템 효율은 비교적 양호한 상태임을 알 수 있었다.

  • To make recycling aggregate, quantity of fine particles increase due to multi-crushing. Though this particles were mixed with recycling aggregate, those have to be disparted from aggregate in the high quality recycling aggregate, because of the cause of low quality. Considering reactivity, fine particles is better than coarse one. Therefore, it needs to develop suitable usage. We try to make cement extruding material by using the fine particles from concrete recycling, as a silicious replacement. Test results are as follows ; 1) Waste concrete powder has major ingredients such as $SiO_2$ and CaO, its density is $2.45g/cm^3$ being similar to silica powder, its diameter is range 13 to $141{\mu}m$. 2) Considering to strength properties according to particle size, specimen was made using small particles is higher strength than large one. 3) Despite of exception in the autoclaved curing, when the replacement of waste fine particle increase, strength of extruding panel shows almost same level.

Physical and Chemical Properties of Waste Concrete Powders Originated from the Recycling Process of Waste Concrete (폐콘크리트의 재활용 공정에서 발생되는 폐콘크리트 미립분의 물리.화학적 특성)

  • According to the great city development and the rapid growth of redevelopment project, waste concrete emission has been increased. Waste concrete powder is one of the by-product originated from the recycling of the waste concrete. The more making high quality recycled aggregate to use aggregate for concrete, the more waste concrete powder is producted relatively. Therefore, to realize the total recycling of waste concrete, development of recycling technology for waste concrete powder need very much. This technical note present the discharged process and the various properties of waste concrete powder. As the results, on the average, the maximum particle-size of waste concrete powder is less than $600{\mu}m$, and oven-dry density is less than $2.5g/cm^3$. And waste concrete powder contains more than 50% of $SiO_2$, 30% of CaO and 10% of $Al_2O_3$. Thus qualities of waste concrete powder is lower than those of high quality raw material for concrete. However, if it is processed by grading to the purpose, it will be used as resource of raw materials for construction field.

Analysis of Neurological Complications on Antegrade Versus Retrograde Cerebral Perfusion in the Surgical Treatment of Aortic Dissection (대동맥 박리에서 전방성 뇌 관류와 역행성 뇌 관류의 신경학적 분석)

  • In the surgical treatment of aortic dissection, aortic arch replacement under total circulatory arrest is often performed after careful inspection to determine the severity of disease progression. Under circulatory arrest, antegrade or retrograde cerebral perfusion is required for brain protection. Recently, antegrade cerebral perfusion has been used more, because of the limitation of retrograde cerebral perfusion. This study is to compare these two methods especially in the respect to neurological complications. Material and Method: Forty patients with aortic dissection involving aortic arch from May 2000 to May 2004 were enrolled in this study, and the methods of operation, clinical recovery, and neurological complications were retrospectively reviewed. Result: In the ACP (antegrade cerebral perfusion) group, axillary artery cannulation was performed in 10 out of 15 cases. In the RCP (retrograde cerebral perfusion) group, femoral artery Cannulation was performed in 24 out of 25 cases. The average esophageal and rectal temperature under total circulatory arrest was $17.2^{\circ}C\;and\;22.8^{\circ}C$ in the group A, and $16.0^{\circ}C\;and\;19.7^{\circ}C$ in the group B, respectively. Higher temperature in the ACP group may have brought the shorter operation and cardiopulmonary bypass time. However, the length of period for postoperative clinical recovery and admission duration did not show any statistically significant differences. Eleven out of the total 15 cases in the ACP group and thirteen out of the total 25 cases in the RCP group showed neurological complication but did not show statistically significant difference. In each group, there were 5 cases with permanent neurological complications. All 5 cases in the ACP group showed some improvements that enabled routine exercise. However all 5 cases in RCP group did not show significant improvements. Conclusion: The Antegrade, cerebral perfusion, which maintains orthordromic circulation, brings moderate degree of hypothermia and, therefore, shortens the operation time and cardiopulmonary bypass time. We concluded that Antegrade cerebral perfusion is safe and can be used widely under total circulatory arrest.

Comparison between Total Least Squares and Ordinary Least Squares for Linear Relationship of Stable Water Isotopes (완전최소자승법과 보통최소자승법을 이용한 물안정동위원소의 선형관계식 비교)

  • A linear relationship between two stable water isotopes, oxygen and hydrogen, has been used to understand the water cycle as a basic tool. A slope and intercept from the linear relationship indicates what kind of physical processes occur during movement of water. Traditionally, ordinary least squares (OLS) method has been utilized for the linear relationship, but total least squares (TLS) method provides more accurate slope and intercept theoretically because isotopic compositions of both oxygen and hydrogen have uncertainties. In this work, OLS and TLS were compared with isotopic compositions of snow and snowmelt collected from the King Sejong Station, Antarctica and isotopic compositions of water vapor observed by Lee et al. (2013) in the western part of Korea. The slopes from the linear relationship of isotopic compositions of snow and snowmelt at the King Sejong Station were estimated to be 7.00 (OLS) and 7.16(TLS) and the slopes of stable water vapor isotopes were 7.75(OLS) and 7.87(TLS). There was a melting process in the snow near the King Sejong Station and the water vapor was directly transported from the ocean to the study area based on the slope calculations. There is no significant difference in two slopes to interpret the physical processes. However, it is necessary to evaluate the slope differences from the two methods for studies for example, groundwater recharge processes, using the absolute slope values.

Truncus Arteriosus associated with Interrupted Aortic Arch (대동맥궁 단절을 동반한 동맥간)

  • A 85-day-old infant was successfully operated on for truncus arteriosus (type I) with interrupted aortic arch (type A) using one-stage anterior approach without circulatory arrest. Aortic arch was reconstructed by direct anastomosis of ascending aorta and descending aorta with regional perfusion and continuity of right ventricle to pulmonary artery was established with $Shelhigh^{circledR}$ pulmonic conduit. The patient experienced left bronchus compression by descending aorta immediately postoperatively, which was improved with positional change and physiotherapy. The patient had reoperation due to stenosis of valved conduit at 13 months later. The patient is currently well under follow-up of 14 months from initial repair.

  • Congenital long-segment tracheal stenosis with complex cardiac anomaly has generally been regarded as a fatal disease This report described the successful concomitant repair of unexpected congenital tracheal stenosis and complex cardiac anomaly with the use of edrdiopulmonary bypass. The patient was a 3-month-old girl with coarctation of aorta, V D, and PDA. The presence of tracheal stenosis was not discovered until when difficulty with endotracheal intubation was encountered at operating room. Thus, we decided concomitant repair of both lesions and performed anterior pericardial tracheoplasty combined with one stage repair of coarctation of aorta, VSD, and PDA under the cardiopulmonary bypass. The patient is doing well without any signs of complication at present, 2 years and 1 month after the operation.

  • To evaluate the sequence of event and the Thermohydraulic behavior during total loss of feedwater accident and recovery procedure, a RELAP5/MOD3 calculation is performed and compared with the LOFT L9-l/L3-3 experiment. Also, the predictability of the code for the major Thermohydraulic phenomena following the accident is assessed. As a result, it is found that a pressure control using the spray until the time the water level reaches the top of the pressurizer, an overpressure protection by pressurizer PORV, a recovery of the secondary heat removal capability by refilling steam generator, and an effective cooldown by the continued natural circulation can be performed without core uncovery. It is also found that the plant-specific evaluation is necessary to confirm the effectiveness of the current symptom-oriented emergency operating procedure, especially in an overpressure protection performance and steam generator recovery performance.

LSTM Language Model Based Korean Sentence Generation (LSTM 언어모델 기반 한국어 문장 생성)

  • The recurrent neural network (RNN) is a deep learning model which is suitable to sequential or length-variable data. The Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) mitigates the vanishing gradient problem of RNNs so that LSTM can maintain the long-term dependency among the constituents of the given input sequence. In this paper, we propose a LSTM based language model which can predict following words of a given incomplete sentence to generate a complete sentence. To evaluate our method, we trained our model using multiple Korean corpora then generated the incomplete part of Korean sentences. The result shows that our language model was able to generate the fluent Korean sentences. We also show that the word based model generated better sentences compared to the other settings.

Evaluation of PLA Fiber Dissolution in Cement Paste and Geopolymer (시멘트 페이스트 및 지오폴리머 내의 PLA 섬유의 용해성 평가)

  • Poly-Lactic Acid(PLA) fiber is an eco-friendly material and is biodegradable, so it can be utilized for manufacturing porous construction materia ls with interna l pore connection. In this study, domestic PLA fiber products(0.5mm india meter, 1.0mm in length, 10mm in length) were tested for melting at high temperatures and high alkality, and they were incorporated with FA-based geopolymer. Compressive strength was obtained through high temperature curing and alkali activator, however the complete melting of the PLA fiber was not ensured. The previous study handling PLA fiber with 0.003mm in diameter was completely dissolved, but 0.5mm and 1.0mm in diameter showed 42.5% and 33.3% of dissolution ratio, respectively. In addition, the increasing fiber volume led floating fibers during curing, which had a negative effect on its workability and solubility. Although the properties of PLA fiber may vary depending on the raw materials and production conditions, PLA fiber with 0.1mm or less diameter is recommended for porous construction material.
