Cable/Wireless Integrated Server for WiBro Contents (와이브로 컨텐츠를 위한 유/무선 통합 서버)

  • We researched economic efficiency and possibility of game portal service based PDA/Smart phone by popularize of next generation portable internet WiBro. PDA/Smart phone are difficult to equal level content service with PC, because of it has low CPU and memory than PC. This paper are implemented paper of integrated server of Cable or Wireless for WiBro contents. In this research, we implemented and show test result of CP killer contents in PDA. It can apply to WiBro portable internet and has required many functions in integrated server for cable or wireless. CP Killer contents for WiBro portable internet is developed by PC server base on Window XP. It can accept next generation wireless LAN, portable internet and ubiquitous issues. We expect activation of commercial use that WiBro contents and server trading.

  • WiBro (Wireless Broadband) service, developed in Korea, can provide the host mobility while its users hang around within the subnet. Next-generation Internet protocols, IPv6 and Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), provide a plenty of addresses to the nodes and enable the handover between different subnets. However, MIPv6 is not enough to support a real time service such as VoIP (Voice over IP) due to the long latency, and it is necessary to develop an enhanced handover mechanism which is optimized to the WiBro networks. In this paper, we suggest an improved fast handover mechanism while the mobile node moves around WiBro networks. The proposal is based on Fast Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6) which is the representative protocol for fast handover, and reduces the handover latency by the close interaction between the link layer (WiBro MAC) and IP layer (FMIPv6). Finally, we analyze the performance of proposed mechanism through the mathematical analysis.

Analysis of the Impact Factors on the Usage Satisfaction of Mobile WiMAX Femtocell Service (와이브로 펨토셀 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향 요인 분석)

  • It is the background that the provision of the mobile WiMAX femtocell trial service of a leading mobile telecommunication service operator using small base stations for indoor mobile broadband services and coverage expansion through eliminations of shadow areas in this paper. The paper presents an analysis result of trial subscribers' usage satisfaction for the mobile WiMAX femtocell service and suggests a market approach strategy of a mobile WiMAX femtocell service based on the analysis result. The interesting influence factors are extracted from wide influence factors suggested by existing research literature related with mobile service usage satisfaction and confined to a system quality, a service quality, and an account structure with consideration for attributes of mobile WiMAX femtocell service under exploring its early stages of service market. And then we analyze impacts of the factors to the mobile WiMAX femtocell service usage satisfaction. As a result, a system quality and an account structure have a tendency to provide considerable impacts to subscribers' usage satisfaction for mobile WiMAX femtocell service which is immature in both its technology and market. Therefore a market approach with the preferential consideration of the two factors will be valid.

An Analysis of 3GPP LTE-Advanced Service Introduction and WiBro Active Factors in the Next-generation Telecommunications Service Environment (차세대 통신서비스 환경에서 3GPP LTE-Advanced 도입과 와이브로(WiBro) 활성화 요인분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the selection behavior decision model of telecommunications service under the telecommunication environments with joining the WiBro and 3GPP LTE-Advanced service at the sam time. The research results are as follows. First, mobile telecommunication service selection behavior is correlated with each other between WiBro and 3GPP LTE-Advanced service. Second, in the bivariate probit model estimates such as age, income, expenditure and income variable are important decision variables of WiBro and 3GPP LTE-Advanced service selection behavior. Gender and service using years, however, are not an important variables. The single and bivariate probit estimate results show the same estimation results. Finally, the two service selecting predictions by using the bivariate probit estimated results, 28.6% of WiBro and 25.3% of 3GPP LTE-Advanced were expected. Also, chance to join the two telecommunications services simultaneously is 19.3%. Therefore, WiBro selection probability is a little higher than 3GPP LTE-Advanced. The implications of these results, the future telecommunications service selection will be determined by economic factors such as income and expenditure. Thus, to enable the WiBro, policy means for reducing the excessive telecommunications expenditure are needed in the future.

  • MBS (Multicast Broadcast Service) is defined in WiBro networks for implementing multicast-based services. However, most of the WiBro networks currently used in Korea do not have the MBS functionality and it causes some difficulty in implementing multicast-based services. This paper evaluates the performance of VoIP-based group communication services when implementing using the following two cases: unicast-based and multicast-based group communication systems. The performance evaluation is done using QualNet for each case in terms of the amount of network resource for the service, the delay and delay jitter of packets, and the difference of the delay of members in a group. The simulation result shows that the number of groups and members in a group in a WiBro network is limited because the amount of network resource for the service is increased according to the number of members in a group, and so, the MBS service is required in a WiBro network for a fully-fledged service of VoIP-based group communications. The simulation result also shows that, when a packet bundling is used, the number of groups and members in a group that can be supported in a WiBro network can be increased due to the decrease of the amount of network resource for the service.

  • This study was to investigate which factors promote the usage of WiBro service, and to propose a few of research propositions on the relationships between these factor and characteristics of mobile Internet usage. To accomplish these research purposes, the study defined research variables such as factors promoting the usage of WiBro service, characteristic of mobile Internet usage, and types of user based on the review of mobile Internet service related studies. The study performed various statistical analyses using survey questionnaires on mobile Internet users, and finally proposed some research propositions, based on the analysis results, that could be used in the future studies.

  • WiBro network technologies developed mainly by Korea are one of very promising 4G technologies. WiBro has been standardized as international standard called Mobile WiMAX, and has been deployed in many countries. Emergency Services are infrastructural servicesa and very essential to induce subscribers from other types of networks. This paper propose a network architecture for supporting emergency services for mobile VoIP services in WiBro networks. The proposed architecture is based on WMF's architecture for internationa compatibilities, and reflects national considerations on interfacing PSAP for domestic compatibilities.

  • Wibro is stand for Wireless Broadband Internet called as Portable Internet, Wireless Broadband Internet or Wireless High-Speed Internet. This provides hish-speed internet service anytime, anywhere, from anyone and device with seamless mobility and the band is located between Mobile phone and wireless LAN. Wibro service should support handover to maintain connection continuously in movement because the service is based on If system which is different from cellular system. Current Mitre Mobility system and general Mobile If system has got a problem of delayed speed and lost packets during handover. IETF protocol has been proposed for minimizing this problem and its standardization is under process, mainly focused on Mip4, Mip6 and Mipshop WG. This article studies and analyzes an effective method of minimizing handover delay to improve the problem of WiBro system and its revitalization & outlook.

  • 현재 국내 국책사업으로 추진 중인 와이브로(WiBro) 기술 규격이 포함되어 있는 휴대인터넷 표준 규격인 IEEE 802.16e는 IP기반으로, 이동성이 뛰어나고 고속전송 기능의 특징을 가지고 있다. 또한 기지국간의 핸드오버(Handover)를 지원함으로써 이동성을 지원한다. 그러나 이러한 핸드오버 기법에 있어서 Replay 공격, Man-in-the-Middle 공격, Stolen-Verifier 공격 등에 취약한 문제점이 드러나고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 기존 핸드오버 기법의 취약점을 개선하기 위해서 사용자의 인증서와 Timestamp값을 통한 IEEE 802.16e/와이브로 망에서 안전한 핸드오버 적용 방안에 대해 제안한다.
