A Method to Determine Amount of Adsorbed Oil in Hair Washing Using Absorption Spectroscopy (흡수 분광법을 이용한 세정 과정에서 흡착된 오일의 평가)

  • Oil adsorption during hair or body washing is responsible for the hair conditioning. In this study, we established a method to extract oil from a substrate, and to determine amount of adsorbed oil upon substrate using a conventional absorption spectroscopy. We controlled the mole fraction of a surfactant in a mixture of anionic and amphoteric surfactants because that it induces the coacervate that regulates amount of adsorbed oil through the alteration of oil viscosity. Based on this, we established the optimized condition for adsorption and extraction for oil. UV absorbance were employed to estimate the amount of adsorbed oil using optical absorbance after extraction via adsorption. The estimation was confirmed by comparing with a mass analysis in HPLC and an adhesive energy in AFM. It has been proved that this method can be applied to all cases of oil adsorption from the results with various cationic polymers and a complex system of the polymers which regulate the oil adsorption.

A Comparative Study on Adsorption Characteristics of PCBs in Transformer Oil Using Various Adsorbents (여러 흡착제를 이용한 변압기 오일 중의 PCBs 흡착특성에 관한 비교연구)

  • The aim of the present study is to explore the possibility of utilizing loess and fly ash as well as activated carbon for the adsorptive removal of PCBs in transformer oil. Here, we investigated the effect of various factors such as temperature (5, 25, 55), contact time (30 min-3 day) and adsorbent does (1, 2.5, 5, 10 g) in detail. It was found that PCBs adsorption rate from transformer oil by activated carbon is more favored than loess at the equilibrium time of 60 minutes. The equilibrium data for both activated carbon and loess is fitted well to the Freundlich isotherm model. The rate constant and activation energy of PCBs adsorption in transformer oil on each adsorbent was analyzed by fitting a kinetic model at 5, 25 and $55^{\circ}C$. From the thermodynamic parameters, the PCBs adsorption process for transformer oil/activated carbon and loess system is spontaneous and endothermic in nature.

  • In this work, the preparation and its oil adsorption behavior of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon nanofiber sponge were investigated. The prepared carbon sponges showed excellent selective oil adsorption in the mixture of water and oil, and the adsorption capacity of reused carbon nanofiber sponge was also investigated. Further, carbon nanofiber sponge adsorbent with internally structured channel showed fast oil adsorption behavior due to a capillary phenomenon. After use, sponge adsorbent was heat-treated at 800℃ under N2 and studied the possibility of a sensor for electrochemical detection of 4-aminophenol.

  • 산업용으로 사용되는 전기흡착식 오일 플러싱 시스템에 코로나 방전층을 형성하기 위해서 10kV이상의 고전압원이 필요하다. 현재 전기흡착식 오일 플러싱 시스템을 위한 고전압원으로 고전압 변압기와 다이오드 정류 방식을 사용되고 있으나 변압기 구동을 저주파로 구동하므로 시스템의 크기 줄이는데 제약이 있다. 이러한 무게와 부피를 저감하기위한 다른 방식으로는 고주파의 하프 브릿지 컨버터와 2차단의 전압 더블러 방식을 채택하는데 이 방식의 경우 앞단의 스파이크성 전류로 인하여 다이오드의 발열 문제가 심각하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 LC 공진형 컨버터를 제안하였으며 컨버터의 설계 또한 제시하였다. 이러한 설계와 제안된 컨버터의 효용성을 검증하기 위해서 최대 출력 150W와 출력전압 15kV의 시작품을 제작하여 실험을 실행하였다.

  • 표면처리 한 UF 막으로 오일/물 에멀젼과 오일-SDS/물 어멜젼을 한외여과 시험하였다. 고분자와 계면활성제를 polysulfon막에 흡착시켜 표면을 처리하였다. 오일-SDS/물 에멀젼의 한외여과는 SDS양을 변화시키면서 수행하였다. 다양한 표면처리 한 막으로 한외여과 실험을 회분식 실험방법으로 수행하였다. 표면처리 안한 막에 대한 오일 에멀젼 한외여과시 fouling의 주요 원인이 오일 에멀젼의 흡착이며, 막의 표면처리와 오일 에멀젼에 계면활성제의 주입으로 뚜렷한 fouling의 저감효과가 있었다.

  • The preparation and properties of emulsions stabilized by the adsorption of solid particles at the oil-water interface are reviewed. Comparison is made with the behaviour of surfactant-stabilized emulsions. Many of the properties of Pickering emulsions are attributed to the large free energy of adsorption for particles. The main differences is due to the irreversible adsorption of particles to the interface. Phase inversion from w/o (water-in-oil) to o/w (oil-in-water) can be brought by increasing the volume fraction of water. Hydrophilic particles tend to form o/w emulsion whereas hydrophobic particles form w/o emulsion. The contact angle at the oil-water interface is main parameter to decide the emulsion type. The aspects of stability of Pickering emulsions are in contrast to general emulsions in some points. The possibility using Pickering emulsions for cosmetics is also proposed.

  • 활성탄소 (activated carbons, ACs)는 넓은 비표면적을 가지고 있어 흡착용량이 크며, 발달된 미세공을 가지고 있기 때문에 오염물질의 제거능력이 높을 뿐만 아니라 경제적, 환경 친화적인 측면에서도 유리하다. 특히 섬유화된 할성탄소섬유 (activated carbon fibers, ACFs)는 균일한 세공이 표면에 노출되어 있어 흡착속도가 빠르며, 안정성과 재생성이 좋고 섬유상이기 때문에 가공이 용이하며 직포, 부직포, 시트 등의 형태로 만들어져 용매회수, 공업제품의 정제, 오폐수의 처리시설, 소각시설의 유해 배기가스의 흡착등에 널리 사용되고 있다.[1,2] (중략)

Oil Production Evaluation for Hybrid Method of Low-Salinity Water and Polymer in Carbonate Oil Reservoir (탄산염암 저류층에 저염수주입공법과 폴리머공법의 복합 적용에 따른 오일 생산량 평가)

  • Low-salinity water based polymerflooding (LSPF) is one of promising enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method that has the synergetic effect of combining polymer injection method and low-salinity water injection method. In order to maximize EOR efficiency, it is essential to design low-salinity water appropriately considering the properties of polymer. In this aspect, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of pH and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion which one of PDI (Potential Determining Ion) on oil production when applying LSPF to carbonate oil reservoir. First, the stability and adsorption of polymer molecule were analyzed in different pH of injection water and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ concentration in injection water. As a result, regardless of pH and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ concentration, when $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion was contained in injection water, the stability of polymer solution was obtained. However, from the result of polymer retention analysis, in neutral state of injection water, since $SO_4{^{2-}}$ interfered the adsorption of polymer, the adsorption thickness of polymer was thinner as $SO_4{^{2-}}$ concentration was higher. On the other hand, when injection water was acidic as pH 4, the amount of polymer adsorption increased with the injection of polymer solution, so the mobility of polymer solution was greatly lowered. From the results of wettability alteration due to low-salinity water effect, in the case of neutral injection water injected, as $SO_4{^{2-}}$ concentration was increased, more oil which attached on rock surface was detached, altering wettability from oil-wet to water-wet. On the other hand, in acidic condition, due to complex effect of rock dissolution and polymer adsorption, wettability of the entire core system was less altered relatively to neutral condition. Therefore, it was evaluated that better EOR efficiency was obtained when injecting low-salinity water based polymer solution containing high concentration of $SO_4{^{2-}}$ with neutral condition, enhancing the oil production up to 12.3% compared to low-salinity water injection method.

  • The mdy is to investigate the capanty and charactoristics of ammonia removal from waste water by artificial zeolite pellet which was synlhesized physicochemically using fly ash. A multi-stage adsorption method was adapted anrl the zeolile pellct as well as two types of natural zeolites are used for adsorption tests of ammonia io order to compare he adsorption capabilities with one anothcr. The expzrimmts was conducted into thrze stages, lhat is early, mddle and last according la the adsorbing stage and lhe number of column used. When camparing the removal efiicicncy in the final stage namral rcolites ratcd 64.5% and 78 5%, while zeohtc pdct rated 80.596, which showed larger amount of ammonia was adsorbed continuously than in other samples. Thc amount of adsorbed ammonia increased rs thc concenlraiion of ammonia increased and tl~e va~iation depending on the pH range showcd that larger amaunt of ammonia tended to be adsorbed m the neutral or akali pH range than in the acid pH range.
