Experimental Performance Evaluation of Complex Behavior Connector by Scaled Model (축소모형에 의한 복합거동 연결체의 실험적 성능 평가)

  • The connector of the complex behavior is to connect the individual piles of the pile to the lower foundation of the oil sand plant where the floating foundation is used. In this study, to verify the shape of a connector of the complex behavior for applying the advantages of existing group pile and piled raft foundation to an oil sand plant, a scaled model was constructed to measure the behavior of the load.

  • 오-스테나이트계 스테인레스강에 대한 용접은 용접재료의 개발과 더불어 각종 산업계에 널리 이용되고 있으며 최근 Type 303 오-스테나이트계 스테인레스강 등은 free machining재로써 널리 응용되고 있다. 그러나 이 303계는 피삭성, 절삭성, 칩형성개선을 위한 특수원소(Se, S 등)의 첨가 때문에 용접성에 문제점을 제기하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Type 303을 중심으로 AISI 304-316NG 및 347NG계의 오-스테나이트계 스테인레스강의 고온연성거동과 고온균열감수성(용접성)에 관한 연구에 대한 검토중 고온연성거동에 관하여 조사하였다. 고온연성평가는 Gleeble Simulator에 의하여 재료와 방향성에 따라 검토하였으며, 그 결과 모든 재료는 압연방향을 종방으로 시험하였을 때는 거의 유사한 고온연성을 나타내었으나 횡방향으로 시험하였을 때는 종방향에 비하여 연성저하를 나타내었다. 이와 같은 고온연성은 후속연구에서 검토될 고온균열 감수성과 밀접한 관련성에 의하여 용접성을 평가할 수 있다.

  • Recently, we have been continued effort that chaotic theory apply into love model which is an area of social science. To make the chaotic behaviors in the differential equation that represent as Romeo and Juliet, we apply an external force to the differential equation. However, this external force have disadvantage that cannot exactly represent for emotion of human. In this paper, to solve these advantage, we introduce triangular fuzzy membership function to provide the external force that can describe most similar status for action and word of human in the love model of Romeo and Juliet. Also, to confirm the chaotic behaviors in the love model of Romeo and Juliet with proposed fuzzy membership function, we use time series and phase plane.

Preparation and Release Behaviors of Chitosan Microcapsules Containing Fragrant Oil (향오일을 함유한 키토산 마이크로캡슐의 제조 및 방출 특성)

  • In this work, the crosslinked-chitosan microcapsules containing fragrant oil were prepared by oil-in-water-in-oil (O/W/O) multi-emulsion method. The effects of concentration of fragrant oil and stirring rates on the preparing of the microcapsules were investigated. The diameter and form of the microcapsules were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). As a result, the average particle size of microcapsules was decreased with increasing the stirring rate. The formation of chitosan microcapsules was comfirmed by FT-IR. The inclusion of fragrant oil into chitosan microcapsules was determined in the presence of specific peak of fragrant oil, i.e., $1,460cm^{-1}$, $2,960cm^{-1}$. Also, the release behavior or profile of fragrant oil from chitosan microcapsules was examined with UV/vis spectra. Released amounts of fragrant oil were increased with increasing as the content of fragrant oil and decreasing the pH.

  • A quality of a refrigeration cycle and a reliability of a compressor can be reduced if a refrigerant including excessive lubricating oil is exhausted from the compressor. Thus, the analysis of the oil behavior inside the compressor is required to prevent the problem. A tested rotary compressor with visualization windows has been manufactured in this study to investigate the oil behavior using developed visualization techniques. The oil behaviors at various operating conditions have been quantified to obtain the relationship with the outlet pressure inside the compressor. Also, the effect of the operating conditions on the quantity of the exhausted oil from the rotary compressor has been investigated using the visualization technique.

  • Love which is one of the emotional of mankind, has been studied in sociology and psychology as a matter of grate concern. In this paper we propose a modified romantic behaviors by using basic the love equation of Romeo and Juliet. We represent the behaviors using time series and phase portrait when we vary the parameter in the modified love equation. Also we analyze the behavior's relation by using time series and phase portraits when external force applied as the third person between Romeo and Juliet.

Release Behaviors of Poly(ε-caprolactone)/Poly(ethyleneimine) Microcapsules Containing Fragrant Oil (향오일을 함유한 Poly(ε-caprolactone)/Poly(ethyleneimine) 마이크로캡슐의 방출거동)

  • The biodegradable poly(${\varepsilon}$-caprolactone)(PCL)/poly(ethylene imine)(PEI) microcapsules containing $Al_2O_3$ and fragrant oil were prepared with different PEI contents. The effects of stirring rate and concentration of the surfactant on the diameter and morphologies of microcapsules were investigated by using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thermal behaviors were studied by using a differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and the release behaviors of fragrant oil from microcapsule were characterized by UV/vis. spectrophotometer. As a result, the average particle size of the microcapsules decreased with increasing the stirring rate or concentration of the surfactant. The surface morphologies of the microcapsules were changed from smooth surfaces to skin-like rough surfaces as increasing the PEI content. These results were mainly due to the increased hydrophilic groups at the microcapsule surfaces, resulting in increasing the release rate of fragrant oil in the microcapsules studied.

  • In this study, a complex behavior connector is proposed to overcome the problems that may occur when small pile pipe and micro pile is used as a friction pile concept in the lower foundation of an oil sand plant where a piloti foundation is used. The individual settlement and heaving of piles were connected in one group to allow the composite behavior. This study performed to analyze the load carrying capacity to identify a complex behavior. In addition, the shape of the composite behavior connector was examined to apply the advantages of pile-group and piled raft foundations to oil sand plants. A scale model was constructed to measure the behavior of the load. The stability and weakness of the device were selected to determine the shape of the connector using the scale model testing.

  • Oil extraction from oil sands, a non-traditional crude oil resource, is attracting attention as the oil price fluctuates due to recent economical and political issues. Many oil sands sites are mainly located in the polar regions. For plant construction to extract crude oil from oil sands in harsh environment of the polar regions, fast and simple installation of plant foundation is necessary. However, typically-used conventional foundations such as drilled shafts and driven piles are not suitable to construct under cold temperature and organic surface layers. In this study, helical piles enabling rapid and simple constructions using small rotary equipment without driving or excavation was considered. The helical pile consists of steel shaft and several helices attached to the steel shaft; therefore, the behavior of the helical pile depends on the number and shape of the helices. The effect of the helices' configuration (number and diameter of helices) on helical pile behavior was analyzed based on the numerical analysis results.
