Design and Implementation of Kiosk System: Focused on Kiosk of Cosmetics Editorial Shop (키오스크 UI 디자인 설계 및 구현: 화장품 편집 샵의 키오스크를 중심으로)

  • In the recent industry, unmanned systems are expected to continue to spread throughout the economy. Especially in case of cosmetics, Users do not buy it right away. They look around, test it thoroughly, check the reviews, and decide on the purchase. Therefore, unmanned system using kiosk is more popular than face - to - face service of clerks. In this study, the persona analysis was completed based on the results obtained from the questionnaires and in - depth interviews. After sorting out the needs of the users, we applied them to the kiosk UI design of "Lalavela". The purpose of this study is to propose a kiosk UI design that helps many users who want to know information about the product though they are reluctant to ask directly to the clerk.

  • 이 Paper는 Server 솔루션에서 사용되는 RAID 컨트롤러가 Disk 상의 에러(Error)를 처리하는 behavior를 분석하고 이를 개선할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. RAID Level 중에 가장 기본인 RAID 0는 주로 Internet portal site의 Search Engines 이나 Media streaming Servers, 그리고 HD 영상 편집 시스템에서 사용된다. 그러나 Fault tolerance가 지원되지 않기 때문에 Data Volume(logical Disk)의 보존성이 약한 취약점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 이것을 개선하고 Data 보존성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

A Study on Time-Composition in Motiongraphics (모션그래픽스의 시간구성에 관한 연구)

  • Motiongraphics is not short film and has a special communication method characteristic of design. As graphic design needs space-composition, motiongraphics requires time-composition. In the 1920's, artists belonged Bauhaus in Germany tried to realize time-composition in the plans for abstract animation. At that time the russian film director Eisenstein experimented with moving image composit on, creating new meanings through the montage of heterogeneous images. In the digital era of today, motiongraphics is composed of such various elements as moving image, photo, illustration, typography, etc. The editing in montage film is one-dimensional. Meanwhile, motiongraphics of these days consists of a lot of layers, composing various elements by editing. Motiongraphics needs time structure and visual rhythm as well as scenario or storyboard for time composition. The principle of time composition in motiongraphics ist similar to that of musical composition. If we compare the time composition of abstract animation or montage film with the melody in a solo, time composition for motiongraphicf is like a symphony. Various composing elements are developed under different tempos at the same time.

  • In this paper, in order to help one to write contents for education in such a way to increase effectiveness, we implement SMIL editor, which helps anyone to author contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way based on multimeda language SMIL. Thanks to its interface which utilizes WYSIWYGT, this editor allows teachers or other users who do not know SMIL to write contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way and to check in a real time how a partially completed document work and to revise when it is not satisfactory. It also allows one to write contents with explanations to help learning because usable multimedia objects can be inserted. This editor helps the user to reduce his inconvenience that he has in memorizing SMIL tags and to reduce his time and offers in writing the documents.

Recognition of Various Printed Hangul Images by using the Boundary Tracing Technique (경계선 기울기 방법을 이용한 다양한 인쇄체 한글의 인식)

  • In this paper, we realized a system that converts the character images of the printed Korean alphabet (Hangul) to the editable text documents by using the black and white CCD camera, We were able to abstract the contours information of the character which is based on the structural character by using the boundary tracing technique that is strong to the noise on the character recognition. By using the contours information, we recognized the horizontal vowels and vertical vowels of the character image and classify the character into the six patterns. After that, the character is divided to the unit of the consonant and vowel. The vowels are recognized by using the maximum length projection. The separated consonants are recognized by comparing the inputted pattern with the standard pattern that has the phase information of the boundary line change. We realized a system that the recognized characters are inputted to the word editor with the editable KS Hangul completion type code.

  • This paper describes the development of a network-based passenger information system(PIS) which provides the convenience of the passenger of the train and heightens the effect of the subtitle service, the advertising and the shelter guidance broadcasting against the urgent event. The existing system uses VGA signal distributor in order to broadcast information with image and subtitle and voice guidance. In this paper we improve the existing system by applying the UDP and TCP/IP protocol and use a reference clock to solve a data loss and synchronization problem which occurs in this case. We also developed an XML-based subtitle authoring tool which can edit and play the subtitles with various 3D to improve the automatic guidance broadcasting and advertisement effect according to the operation schedule of the train. The system performance was evaluated through a simulation.

  • The Spatial Image contents of Geomorphology 3-D environment is focused by the requirement and importance in the fields such as, national land development plan, telecommunication facility management, railway construction, general construction engineering, Ubiquitous city development, safety and disaster prevention engineering. The currently used DEM system using contour lines, which embodies geographic information based on the 2-D digital maps and facility information has limitation in implementation in reproducing the 3-D spatial city. Moreover, this method often neglects the altitude of the rail way infrastructure which has narrow width and long length. This As the results, We confirmed the solutions of varieties application for railway facilities management using 3-D spatial image contents and database design. Also, I suggested that U-city using topographical modeling about matching methods of high density elevation value using 3-D aerial photo with laser data are best approach for detail stereo modeling and simulation.

  • Recently, the value of video as an important data of medical information technology is increasing due to the feature of rich clinical information. On the other hand, video is also required to be de-identified as a medical image, but the existing methods are mainly specialized in the stereotyped data and still images, which makes it difficult to apply the existing methods to the video data. In this paper, we propose an automated system to index candidate elements of personal identification information on a frame basis to solve this problem. The proposed system performs indexing process using text and person detection after preprocessing by scene segmentation and color knowledge based method. The generated index information is provided as metadata according to the purpose of use. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, the indexing speed was measured using prototype implementation and real surgical video. As a result, the work speed was more than twice as fast as the playing time of the input video, and it was confirmed that the decision making was possible through the case of the production of surgical education contents.

Land Category Non-coincidence Measurements Using High Resolution Satellite Images and Digital Topographic Maps (고해상도 위성영상과 수치지형도를 이용한 지목 불부합의 정도 측정)

  • Basically a land parcel consists of a land parcel number, land category, land boundary and area, and land value is mostly determined by the land category. Generally people want to change their land use to increase their land value so that they can expect more benefits from the land. However, changing land use causes several problems with land properties, haphazard urban expansions and land category non-coincidences. Unfortunately, no effective solutions exist for land category non-coincidence problems. In this study, we proposed a methodology that can classify the land category based land covers using high resolution satellite images and digital topographic maps. For this, we obtained a parcel based land use/cover classification map. Using both this classification map and a digital cadastral map, we inspected land category non-coincidences. As a result, land category non-coincidence rates could be statistically measured and interpreted and demonstrate a possibility that we could quantitatively interpretate and measure cadastral non-coincidence automatically.

Focal Nodular Hyperplasia in Liver: A Case Report (간 국소 결절성 과형성의 방사선학적 소견)

  • Focal nodular hyperplasia is a benign hepatic tumor mainly composed of nodules of hepatocytes and Kupffer cells separated by fibrous septa. In general, it is difficult to differentiate focal nodular hyperplasia and hepatocellular carcinoma on ultrasonography, conventional CT(computerized tomography), and angiography. But IV bolus CT is of particular value in the diagnosis of focal nodular hyperplasia because it can divide enhanced CT into early and late phase and can characterize tumor vascularity and analyze any intratumoral elements. In our case, it was seen as a hypoechoic mass lesion on ultrasonography and hyperdense mass lesion on early-phase IV bolus CT and isodense mass lesion on late-phase IV bolus CT. On angiography, hypertrophy of the feeding artery and tumor staining were well visualized. The patient underwent operation and the mass was pathologically confirmed to a focal nodular hyperplasia. We report the first case of focal nodular hyperplasia on IV bolus CT in Korea.
