This paper presents a study on the analysis for activation time and threshold value of heat detection sensor using HRR(Heat Release Rate). And it is represented to quantity of heat to activate heat detection sensor. The experiment is conducted to measure activation time and HRR of fire detection sensor burning alcohol and n-heptane. In order to burn the alcohol and n-heptane using $43.5cm(L){\times}43.5cm(W){\times}5cm(D)$ and $33cm(L){\times}33cm(L){\times}5cm(D)$ steel pan and the quantity of alcohol and n-heptane are 2.5 L and 650 g, respectively. The results show that peak HRR are in case of alcohol 66.13 kW and in case of n-heptane 151.64 kW, respectively. Total heat releases of heat detection sensor are in case of alcohol approximately 20.7 MJ and in case of n-heptane approximately 18 MJ, respectively.
In this study, experiments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of ventilation equipment in underground fires. Two type of Ventilators were used in experiments. Experiments were carried out using ethanol square pool fire. Maximum heat release rate was about 460kW. Visibility and temperature distribution were evaluated according to mechanical ventilation. In blower type ventilation, visibility was increased and temperature was lowered.

In the event of a fire on the outer walls of an architectural structure, through real scale experiments with the purpose of estimating the Flame Trajectory, the behavior and risks of expanded combustion to an upper architectural compartment of the Fire Plume Ejected from an Opening according to changes in the aspect ratio of the opening were examined. The results showed that the more the heat release rate of the fire source increased, the heat capacity of the Fire Plume Ejected from the Opening also increased, and for the case of heptane when compared with methanol or ethanol, the results showed a trend for a significant amount of unburned gas to remain. The results also showed that the larger the aspect ratio was, the more likely it was for the Flame Trajectory to approach the outer walls and rise up. In each of the experiment conditions, as the flame rose from the lower part of the wall to the upper part of the wall, a steady decrease was shown for the temperature distribution. Also by quantitatively analyzing the amount of unburned gas that remained, a method to estimate the temperature of the Fire Plume Ejected from an Opening for a traverse opening was implemented.

For The performance based fire design of the buildings, the fire characteristic such as proceeding and scale of the fire should be figured out but, there is lack of relevant information because of different conditions and difficulties of mock-up test like type of division space, ventilation condition, etc, in buildings. Therefore, in the study, a heal release rate etc, the engineering characteristic data value on the fire is proposed by mock-up fire test for division space in buildings. The mock-up fire test is carried out in a bedroom with 2.4 (L) ${\times}$ 3.6 (W) ${\times}$ 2.4 (H) m model. Initial ignition was started from trash box and the test was carried out for 30 min. As a result of the fire test, flame was broken to outside within 7 min and 50 s after starting the test and the maximum heat release rate was measured as 3,810.6 kW at 9 min and 34 s.

The FDS is one of the most used programs for fire analysis and needs an optimal grid selection for an accurate analysis. This study selected various grid aspect ratios (ARs) for selection of optimal grid and analyzed them with FDS v 6.1.2. A calculation time of 10 min. was used, which is enough to obtain the time average value of temperature changes. Temperature, visibility, and the time average value of mass balance are obtained from 200-600 s, which is a period of maintaining quasi-steady state. Two polyurethane fires of 1 [MW] and 2 [MW] in two enclosures of $10{\times}10{\times}3[m^3]$ and $20{\times}20{\times}3[m^3]$ were considered. Time variations of heat release rates, temperature, visibility, and mass balance were compared for ARs from 1-6. The heat release rates were accurate for all aspect ratios regardless of fire and enclosure sizes. The quasi-steady state temperature and visibility were well predicted for $AR{\leq}5$. Temperature drop and skewness of mass conservation, however, increased with increasing aspect ratio. Therefore, careful investigation of the grid size is recommended in performance-based design when $AR{\geq}3$, where temperature and visibility in early stage of a fire are important parameters. For accurate simulations of enclosure fires, grid sizes of 0.1~0.2 [m] and smaller in the vertical direction and $AR{\leq}2$ are recommended.
This study was performed to test the combustive properties of Pinus rigida plates treated with piperazinomethyl-bisphosphonic acid (PIPEABP), methylpiperazinomethyl-bis-phosphonic acid (MPIPEABP), and N,N-dimethylethylenediaminomethyl- bis-phosphonic acid (MDEDAP). Pinus rigida specimens were painted in three times with 15 wt% alkylenediaminoalkyl- bis-phosphonic acid solutions at the room temperature. After drying specimen treated with chemicals, combustive properties were examined by the cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1). As a result, the combustion-retardation properties were increased by due to the treated alkylenediaminoalkyl-bis-phosphonic acid solutios in the virgin Pinus rigida. Especially, the specimens treated with chemicals showed both the later time to ignition (TTI) (148-116 s) and longer time to flameout (Tf) (633-529 s) than those of virgin plate by reducing the burnig rate. Compared with virgin pinus rigida plate, the specimens treated with the alkylenediaminoalkyl-bis-phosphonic acids showed partially low combustive properties. However the specimens treated with PIPEABP showed both the higher peak heat release rate (PHRR) (187.56 $kW/m^2$) and higher total heat release rate (THRR) (75.7 $MJ/m^2$) than those of virgin plate.
The Interior finishing materials tried to evaluate the combustion characteristics and the dangerous characteristic of Floor finish and Wall finish. We often use, conducting the experiment ISO 5660-1, Cone Calorimeter method, and ISO-TR-9122 FT-IR. According to the result of Cone calorimeter experiment, the tile carpet FF3 of Floor material had the highest THR $74.6mj/m^2$ because of the highest risk, and the PHRR of FF1 was $726kW/m^2$, which was easy to bum. As a result FT-IR test, The CO, $CO_2$ ratio was 8,146 PPM for roll carpet FF1 than tile carpet FF2, FF3 5,996, 5,171 PPM, which was a carpet with a high toxicity risk. In the case of wall finishes, The MDF plate(WF3) was THR $86.7mj/m^2$ with a high risk, PHRR $384kW/m^2$ was easy to ignite and toxicity index was 5.5. The CO, $CO_2$ ratio was 1,340~8,596 PPM, But the WF4 was the most toxic with 8,596 PPM.
The international standard for FT-IR gas analysis of fire effluents in ISO 5660-1 cone calorimeter has been being developed in ISO TC 92. A comparison of the round-robin test of WD 21397 was conducted with six participating laboratories in 2018. The test specimens were PMMA, rigid PU foam board, and PVC flooring. The measurement quantities were the time-to-ignition, peak heat release rate, total heat release, and effective heat of combustion for a cone calorimeter test and peak gas concentration, gas generation, and gas yield for FT-IR gas analysis. No outliers were identified. For the cone calorimeter quantities, the repeatability and reproducibility were 1.5% and 9.8%, respectively. For FT-IR gas analysis, the repeatability and reproducibility was 12.9% and 27.9%, respectively.

Biomedical signal measurement technology using images has been developed, and researches on respiration signal measurement technology for maintaining life have been continuously carried out. The existing technology measured respiratory signals through a thermal imaging camera that measures heat emitted from a person's body. In addition, research was conducted to measure respiration rate by analyzing human chest movement in real time. However, the image processing using the infrared thermal image may be difficult to detect the respiratory organ due to the external environmental factors (temperature change, noise, etc.), and thus the accuracy of the measurement of the respiration rate is low.In this study, the images were acquired using visible light and infrared thermal camera to enhance the area of the respiratory tract. Then, based on the two images, features of the respiratory tract region are extracted through processes such as face recognition and image matching. The pattern of the respiratory signal is classified through the k-nearest neighbor classifier, which is one of the statistical classification methods. The respiration rate was calculated according to the characteristics of the classified patterns and the possibility of breathing rate measurement was verified by analyzing the measured respiration rate with the actual respiration rate.
