  • Presently metro in our country has higher rate of passengers as a public transportation of urban area than other transportations. And road is under very restrictive condition to be expanded in many aspects because the streets are completely choked. Therefore increase of capacity in metro and reduction of headway has been seriously required and utmost efforts has been taken by related fields to meet the requirements. The concept of CBTC system came out from this background. CBTC system can be implemented to detect t location without using the track circuits. It h advantages in aspects of signalling equipments and maintenance. This study investigated exa radio communication system and applicable norms in other countries.   • train radio system used for shinkansen in japan has been 18 years since it was opened in 1982 and grown old. Analogue train radio is short of the number of lines and can't cope with the needs for the new high speed data transmission by 1,200 bps. The construction to renew the Tohoku - Joethu shinkansen train radio system(shinkansen train radio system) with digital method started from 2000 in JREast Digital method makes it possible to improve the quality of radio transmission, reliability of the network and every device, the speed and capacity of transmission and to be more efficient maintenance by introducing the latest IT technology. This paper will consider synchronization between base station. diversity method. software receiver, mobile high speed digital radio system, high reliability LAN introduced as technologies supporting these.

  • The study for ubiquitous computing infra is proceeding actively, it make possible to use service and access network anywhere, anytime because of wire/wireless communication technology and progress of hardware. Domestically, study for the network mobility support technology which is the key technology for future ubiquitous computing realization have progressed, but that is Insufficient. Especially, there is no study for independent mobility support study about railway wireless network. So, this study propose network mobility management technology for mobile network infra in railway and proper network model in train.

  • Recently the application area of wireless LAN has been increased, rapidly. The application area was limited in indoor, but as the data throughput and performance of wireless LAN becomes better the application is to extend to the Internet connection and wireless bridge in outdoor. In this paper, the data throughput of wireless LAN in mobile environment is measured, and the usability of wireless LAN for Train, Telematics, and LBS is confirmed.

  • This paper presents the system of analyzing data in memory of TCMS. This system can show physical data in memory to text and graphic : format. To transfer data from TCMS to this system, a large number of system have used to memory IC card. the method of using memory IC card as a intermediation has many points at issue, that is a speed of transmitting data, life time of IC card and identity of train system each other. So this paper proposes that the method of wireless LAM be adopted by this system to improve the week point of previous method and other method to better the method of wireless LAN.

  • Train control by radio based communication is one of the interesting new fields in train signal. The radio based control has more benefits, low headway and low construction and maintenance cost, than conventional control. In this paper, a safe and efficient train operation is introduced. Triple radio communications, train to train, train to station, and train to central traffic control, are used to increase the reliability. One of these communications channels has a fault; the others can take the functions of it. Absolute position of a train is transmitted to station via radio communication. In the station, the interlocking mechanism should be activated as the legacy.

  • Construction of Yamanashi Maglev Test Line in Japan was proceeded based on "superconducting maglev Yamanshi Testline plan" approved by Ministry of Transport Government of Japan in 1990, which was performed by Yamanashi Maglev Test Line construction project team organized by personnel of Japan Railway Construction Public Corporation, RTRI and Central Japan Railway Company, and overall adjustment test was performed. Yamanashi Maglev experimental project team was organized, sponsored by RTRI and Central Japan Railway Company from April in 1997. Running test for the application was performed by this project team. Technical availability was proved by "superconducting maglev committee" of Ministry of Transport Government in March, 2000. In this paper, train radio system by LCX and by millimeter wave will be reviewed.

  • Assuming that life of urban transit signalling is about 20 years with the flow of technology development, Seoul urban transit will be required to prepare for improvement soon. The highly developed countries preceding several levels rather than Korea are faced with commercial service which uses RF, ATC and ATO in Train Control System. European highly developed countries in the field of railroad have been progressing standardization and technology development of signalling associated with related manufacturers for direct operation between nations. For that, a effective train control system with radio beyond control levels by the existing wayside-onboard communication is in a developed and used stage. The systems which advanced countries have been progressing seem to be applied to domestic within 5 years from now. At present, there are no countries using CBTC for service throughout the world. So, this is investigated to focus on the routes ready to be installed with completed CBTC and trying to introduce the technology. Especially, considerations for economic aspect are mainly reviewed about controlling ability of headway, flexibility, extension aspect and construction cost on the basis of paper examined in NYCT.

  • According to the conventional train control system, the area of each train is detected by plural track circuits located in a constant distance on railway lines in order to control a distance between trains. The conventional train control system has the difficulty in making use of the substructure thoroughly and transmitting enormous amount of information. To solve those problems, the wireless CBTC system has been a global issue. To apply wireless CBTC system to train system, the following two requirements are preferentially necessary: (1) Dualizing wireless CBTC system to control trains ceaselessly in a system accident, (2) Improving dependency of transmitted information for location and velocity to protect collision and derailment of lightweight trains in advance.

  • LRT System Application Project is performed for the purpose of technical advancement and stabilization of K-AGT system from the viewpoint of practical use and commercialization. For those purpose, the performance test and evaluation procedure for signaling system are developed, and the scheme of verifying the performance and function of signaling system under multi-train and driverless control environment is being conducted. In general, the railway have kept their systems highly safe and reliable through the ongoing efforts over a period of many years. This has been achieved primarily by continuous improvements, which mean that there is a dearth of experience in the introduction of innovative new systems. Therefore it is said that comparing a new system that features a completely new architecture with a conventional one may be difficult. In this paper, we investigate the evaluation method for Radio based-Communication Based Train Control system from case study.
