Primary Food Commodity Classification of Processed Foods of Plant Origin in the Codex Food Classification (코덱스 식품 분류에서 식물성 가공식품의 원료식품 분류)

  • The purpose of this study was to obtain the codex classification information on the primary food commodity (fresh state) of processed foods of plant origin that are included in the Codex Classification of Foods and Animal Feeds. Furthermore, whether or not the primary food commodity is included in the primary food classification from the Food Code of Korea was investigated. The results are summarized as follows: First, the Codex Classification information (number of classification codes/number of the primary food commodity group that fresh commodities of processed foods are classified/number of primary food commodity that is not included in the Codex Classification) by a processed food group appeared to be 46/8/0 for dried fruits, 76/11/1 for dried vegetables, 54/4/12 for dried herbs, 36/1/0 for cereal grain milling fractions, 17/4/3 for oils and fats (crude), 34/8/9 for oils and fats (refined), 20/8/0 for fruit juices, 3/2/0 for vegetable juices, and 19 codes for teas (in the Codex Classification, the primary food commodity group for tea does not exist). Second, the number of the primary food commodities not included in the Food Code of Korea was 9 for dried fruits, 14 for dried vegetables, 35 for dried herbs, 0 for cereal grain milling fractions, 6 for teas, 3 for oils and fats (crude), 9 for oils and fats (refined), 2 for fruit juices, and 0 for vegetable juices. Third, it was demonstrated that caution should be exercised when using Codex Classification due to differences in food classification between Codex and Korea, such as coconut (Codex, as tree nut as well as assorted tropical and sub-tropical fruit) and olive (Codex, as assorted tropical and sub-tropical fruit as well as olives for oil production), as well as special cases in the Codex Classification, such as dried chili pepper (Codex, as spice), tomato juice (Codex, as vegetable for primary food commodity and as fruit juice for juice) and ginger (Codex, as spice for rhizome and not including as primary commodity for leaves).

Monitoring of Ergosterol Biosynthesis Inhibitor (EBI) Pesticide Residues in Commercial Agricultural Products and Risk Assessment (국내 유통 농산물 중 EBI계 농약 모니터링과 위해도 평가)

  • Establishment of simultaneous analysis method and monitoring for individually analyzing residual eight ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitors, EBI (difenoconazole, diniconazole, fenarimol, fenbuconazole, hexaconazole, myclobutanil, nuarimol and paclobutrazol) pesticides in commercial agricultural products, were conducted. The simultaneous analysis method for the pesticides was established using a GC/MS/MS for EBI pesticides. Residual amount of those pesticides were investigated in 989 commercial agricultural products (fifteen kinds of cereal grains, vegetables, beans, nuts, fruits and mushrooms) from seven metropolitan cities and eight provinces. In EBI pesticides analysis, linearity of GC/MS/MS analysis was 0.9974-0.9992, and that of recoveries were 86-135% with relative standard deviations (RSD) <20%. The limit of quantification (LOQ) of the method ranged from 0.5 to 5.0 mg/kg for eight EBI pesticides. According to the monitoring of the EBI pesticides in commercial agricultural products, difenoconazole, fenarimol, hexaconazole showed various residual levels (total frequency of 8/989 detection, 0.8%). Paclobutrazole showed in excess levels of the MRLs (maximum residue limits) for pesticides in one chard sample by the Korea Food Code. As a result of exposure assessment on the detected 8 individual pesticides, all pesticides (difenoconazole, fenarimol, hexaconazole, paclobutrazole) were evaluated as safe level in comparison to toxicologically acceptable daily intake.

  • Under the assumption that thermal conductivity of the fin is constant and the conditions ate steady state, effects of non-constant and thermally asymmetric root temperature and unequal surrounding convection coefficients of the fin on the heat loss from a fin of rectangular profile are investigated. The heat loss form a rectangular fin becomes maximum when the highest root temperature deviates from the fin center to the fin side which has a higher convection coefficient as surrounding convection coefficients of the fin increase and as the difference between the convection coefficient of fin top side and that of fin bottom side increases.

  • About 6,950 fEather mites were isolated from field collections and examination of bird study skins at the zoological specimen room of Kon-Kuk University in Seoul. Among them, 3 species of Kramerellidae, Dermonoton longiventer (Megnln & Trouessart, 1884), Kramerella bubonis (Lonnfors, 1937) , Neopetitotcl bubonis Atyeo & Philips, 1984, and 1 species of Pterolichidae, EpopoLichn atelw Gaud, 1981 were newly recorded from Korea. They were redescribed with their new hosts.

  • One of bryozoans collected from the subtidal zone of Manjae Island on Aug. 23, 1988 was identified. Parasmittina delicatula (Busk, 1884) turned out to be new to the Korean fauna. Therefore, twelve bryozoan species are reported from Manjae Island so far. Ten species including the present one among them were recorded only from the Pacific Ocean. They consisted of four tropical, three cold temperate and four endemic species to Korea and Japan. It is quite probable that Manjae Island, which is influenced by both warm and cold water currents, seems to be unique and significant area in terms of marine zoogeography.

  • 최근 한국 여름 기후의 열대화 현상이 급속화 됨에 따라 잦은 장마와 태풍으로 인해 방제 약품이 씻겨나가 방제가 제대로 안되는 경우가 많아졌다. 이는 식물과 작물들이 병해에 약해지는 계기를 만들었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 그 중 실내 농사가 어려운 감귤에 중점을 잡고 감귤에서 주로 나타나는 흑점 영상 인식에 대한 모델을 제안하였다. HSV 공간으로의 변환과 LBP 기법을 통해 간단하지만 인식률을 높일 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 했다. 자원과 계산을 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 모델을 간략화 하였으며 추후 스마트팜의 연구에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

Assessment of Seasonal Forecast Skill of Springtime Droughts over Northeast Asia in Climate Forecast Models (기후 예보 모델의 동북아시아 봄철 가뭄 예측성 연구)

  • 최근 IPCC 6차 보고서에서는 전 지구의 온도가 0.5℃가 증가할 때마다 기상학적 가뭄 지역이 증가하며, 인위적 강제력은 가뭄 현상의 강도와 빈도를 증가하는 것으로 밝혔다. 봄철(3월-5월) 동남아시아(남중국, 필리핀 등)에 비해 상대적으로 건조한 동북아시아(동중국, 한반도, 일본) 지역은 가뭄에 취약하며 기후 변화에 따라 가뭄으로 인한 피해가 커질 것으로 전망된다. 그러므로 이 지역은 봄철 가뭄으로 인한 피해를 완화하기 위해 봄철 강수량에 대한 신뢰할 만한 계절적 예보 기술이 꼭 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 1992-2022년 봄철의 Standardized Precipitation Index(SPI) 값을 기준으로 2001년과 2011년 동북아시아 가뭄이 발생한 것을 확인하였으며, 각 해의 3월에 관측된 기상학적 초기 조건으로부터 다중 기후 예보 모델들의 봄철 강수량의 계절적 예측성을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 관측자료로부터 2001년 가뭄은 동북아시아 대기 상층의 저기압성 순환의 강화로 인한 제트류(Jet stream)의 강화와 연관되어 있었으며, 2011년 가뭄은 제트류 강화와 함께 태평양 열대 지역 기류 강화가 동반되어 발생하였음을 알 수 있었다. North American Multi-Model Ensemble 기후 예보 모델들은 2011년 가뭄에 비해 2001년 가뭄에 대한 예측성이 높았으며, 그 이유로는 대기 상층 순환의 예측성과 연관이 있음을 밝혔다. 또한, 봄철 대기-해양 상호 패턴을 관측과 유사하게 재현한 GFDL-SPEARS 모델이 가뭄 해의 대기 상층 저기압성 순환과 강수 예측성이 가장 높은 것을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과들을 통해 동북아시아 봄철 가뭄과 같은 극한 기상의 강수량 예측성 향상에 있어서 기후 예보 모델들의 현실적인 대기-해양 결합 과정 모사 능력의 중요성을 밝혔다. 본 연구에서 제안된 방안들은 기후 예측 모델 개선을 위한 전략적인 정보를 제공할 것으로 보인다.

Crystal growth of GaN semiconductor films by counter-flow metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (암모니아 역류형태의 반응로를 이용한 GaN 반도체 박막의 성장)

  • A counter-flow type horizontal reactor of metal organic chemical vapor deposition was designed with the Reynolds and the Rayleigh numbers of Re = 4.5 and Ra = 215.8, respectively. The GaN thin films were grown and characterized by Hall measurement, double crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and photoluminescence measurement. The Si and Mg were also used for doping of GaN films. The dislocation density of $2.6{\times}10^8/\textrm {cm}^2$ was included in GaN films representing the geometrical lattice mismatch between sapphire substrates and GaN films. The Si doped n-GaN films provide the electron carrier density and mobility in the regions of $10^{17}~10^{18}/\textrm{cm}^3$ and 200~400 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V .sec, respectively. Mg doped p-GaN films were post-annealed and activated with the hole carrier density of $8{\times}10^{17}/{\textrm}{cm}^3$.

  • Electric energy consumption is always followed by the introduction of diversity scale-up and state-of-the-art equipments in logistic centers. In order to analyze the status and the characteristic of the electric energy consumption quantitatively, and also to evaluate the efficiency of the electric energy, this research aims to develop an estimation model of standard electric energy consumption for logistic centers. The proposed model applies the thermodynamics theory so as to effectively reflect the peculiarity that the temperature in the logistic center influences the electric energy consumption. And the model consists of the energy consumed by the refrigerator, which can be subdivided into the heat conducted through the wall, the heat convected by the open doors and the heat lost into the goods, and the electric consumption of the machinery equipments. The model also includes a variety of explanatory variables to support an operator of logistics centers in evaluating the efficiency of energy consumption and establishing improvement strategies for energy efficiency. Application of the model developed in this study is discussed with observed data on energy consumption of a logistics center.

An Application of Equivalent Heat Source for Thermal Analysis of Pavement Process (포장시 열영향 해석을 위한 등가열원의 적용성)

  • Because of relatively high temperature, over $240^{\circ}C$, of asphalt for steel deck bridge during pavement procedure, the temperature of deck could rise over $100^{\circ}C$ and undesirable excessive displacement and thermal stress could occur. In this study, in order to estimate the thermal effect of pavement process and to find the optimal pavement process, a new thermal analysis technique with Equivalent Heat Source (EHS) is proposed and its applicability to the practical pavement of steel bridge is studied. EHS is developed to simulate the high temperature pavement materials and its thermal effect such as conduction and convection which cannot be explain easily in general structural analysis program for bridge design. To verify the applicability of new analysis technique with EHS, thermal analyses of steel deck bridge with uplift and curved bridge with various pavement procedures are presented.
