A Meta-Analysis of Influencing Collagen Intake on Human Body (콜라겐 섭취가 인체에 미치는 영향 메타분석)

  • Big data analysis refers the ability to store, manage and analyze collected data from an existing database management tool. In addition, extract value from structured and unstructured on the data set in big volume means the technology to analyze the results. The findings published from many researchers at the same theme is a meta-analysis a method described with a summary. Meta-analysis is a statistical integration method that delivers an opportunity to overview the entire result of integrating and analyzing many quantitative research results. We reviewed a total of 21 studies to published on topics as collagen intake in Korea between 2000 and 2016, where a cause and effect relationship is established between variables that are specified in the conceptual model of this study. Thus, we present the theoretical and practical implications of these results.

Analysis of Research Trends Using Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 연구 동향 분석)

  • This study used the text mining method to analyze the research trend of the Journal of Creative Information Culture(JCIC) which is the journal of convergence. The existing research trend analysis method has a limitation in that the researcher's personality is reflected using the traditional content analysis method. In order to complement the limitations of existing research trend analysis, this study used topic modeling. The English abstract of the paper was analyzed from 2015 to 2019 of the JCIC. As a result, the word that appeared most in the JCIC was "education," and eight research topics were drawn. The derived subjects were analyzed by educational subject, educational evaluation, learner's competence, software education and maker culture, information education and computer education, future education, creativity, teaching and learning methods. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes the research trend of the JCIC using text mining.

Relationship between Science Education Researchers' Views on Science Educational Theories for Pre-service Science Teachers and the Examination for Appointing Secondary School Science Teachers (예비과학교사에게 필요한 과학교육학 이론에 대한 과학교육 연구자들의 의견과 중등과학교사임용시험의 연관성)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine science education researchers' views on what and how much science educational theories would be needed for pre-service science teachers, and to investigate the relationship between their views and the Examination for Appointing Secondary School Science Teachers(EASST). For this study, the views of science education professors on science education theories have been analyzed in terms of their priorities for contributing to the improvement of science teacher competency and literacy. Their views have been compared with proportions of questions related to science education theories of the EASST in terms of what kinds of science education theories have been used for solving each item. As results of this study show, they have perceived that more essential things are needed for the improvement of science teacher competency and literacy including science inquiry process, methods of experimental equipments and tools, laboratory safety, misconception of students, discussion, writing, evaluation of scientific knowledges, and evaluation of scientific inquiry ability other than science philosophy, changes of science curricula, science curricula of foreign countries, Bruner's instructional theory, Karplus's Learning Cycle model, generative learning model, discovery learning model, and Klopfer's taxonomy of educational objectives. There is a higher proportion of questions related to science curriculum and Ausubel's learning theory in the EASST. They are hardly correlated with science education professors' selections of science educational theories for EASST questions. This study advocates the needs of exploring a new method of narrowing down the gap between science educators' opinions and questions of ESSAT in terms of science educaiton theories.

  • The value of experimentally obtained data becomes highest when they are properly analyzed based on valid logics. Many physical and chemical properties such as electrical and magnetic properties, chemical reaction rates, etc. are known to be thermally activated; thus, a proper understanding of thermally-activated processes is of importance. However, there are still a number of papers published with falsely analyzed data. In this contribution, we would like to revisit the meaning of thermally-activated processes, and then reanalyze a data set published misinterpreted. By showing a step-by-step procedure for the reanalysis, we would like to help researchers who may come across such data in the future not to make mistakes in their analysis.

A Study on Determinants of National R&D Projects: With the Focus on the "National R&D for the Competitiveness Enhancement of the Parts and Materials Industry" (국가R&D 사업화 영향요인에 관한 연구: "부품·소재산업경쟁력향상사업" 사례를 중심으로)

  • Although the investment scale and the qualitative performance of national research and development project in Korea have been increased, the practical use of the performance is still insignificant. Thus it becomes more important to understand and analyze factors that affect commercialization of national R&D project. Most of prior literatures have done with qualitative research rather than data-based analysis; however, mostly focusing on influential factors in between R&D inputs and outputs and it remains as limitation. The important key to avoid the limitation in this study is using data-based analysis of factors (such as research performance, types of research institution, scale of the government fund, project structure, competency in the researcher, and technical field) that affect commercialization with the case of the Competitiveness Enhancement in Material and Component Industries. As a result, patents performance, scale of the government fund, and technical field turned out to be influential factors of commercialization. On the other hand, research performance, types of research institution, project structure, and competency in the researcher did not show statistically significant results. To increase commercialization in project scheme, process, and assessment of national R&D project, including the Competitiveness Enhancement in Material and Component Industries project, it is required to design scientific research with better understanding of causal relationship.

The Scope and Limitations of the New Institutional Approach on the Nature of the Firm (기업의 성격에 관한 신제도학파 접근방법의 범위와 한계 - 거래비용이론을 중심으로-)

  • 최근 20년간 마케팅을 비롯하여 사회과학 전반에 걸쳐 기업이론에 관하여 새로운 패러다임으로 각광을 받아온 신제도학파 접근방법은 이익극대화를 기업의 중심적 행동으로 가정하고 있는 신고전학파의 맹점을 극복하여 조직문제를 포괄적으로 다룰 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이 이론은 한정된 합리성, 기회주의, 자산 특수성, 지배구조, 신뢰 및 협동 등의 핵심적 개념들이 동태적 환경 하에서 활동하고 있는 기업의 경제적 행동을 분석하고 이해하는데 크게 기여하였음이 입증되고 있다. 이것은 다수의 실증적 문헌들에서 엿볼 수 있다. 그러나 신제도학파의 이론적 틀은 두 가지 면에서 주요 결점을 안고 있다. 그 하나는 이론의 정당성을 입증하기 위한 실증적 연구결과물을 무수하게 찾아볼 수 있으나, 대부분이 연구의 타당성이 결여되어 있다는 점이고, 또 하나의 결정적 결함은 신고전학파와 마찬가지로 비교정태적 접근방법을 택함으로써 역사적 관점이 도외시되고 기업의 전략개발과 구조적 변동을 이해하는데 필수적인 조직과 기술간의 동태적 상호작용의 중요성을 간과하고 있다는 점이다. 이에 따라 본고에서는 국제교역 이론가들이 제시한 기업 특유의 경쟁우위에 관한 착상과 그러한 우위가 기업 내외의 네트워크 형성을 포함하여 결집된 조직역량에서 도출된다는 견해를 거래비용이론에 접목시킴으로써 기업의 성격과 그 성장방식을 보다 설득력있게 이해할 수 있으리라는 관점을 제시하려 하였다. 이와 같이 거래비용이론과 진화론을 결합하면 신제도학파 기업이론의 결점이 보완되고 이론의 발전이 한 단계 진일보할 것으로 기대된다. 특히 마케팅 연구자들이 거래비용이론의 경우와 마찬가지로 본고에서 제시한 통합이론에 대해서도 실증적 연구를 행하면 이론개발에 크게 기여할 것으로 생각된다.

Analysis of Features of Korean Eighth Grades' TIMSS 2015 Achievement in Chemistry (우리나라 중학생들의 TIMSS 2015 화학 영역 성취 특성 분석)

  • The goal of this study is to investigate the features of Korean eighth graders' achievement and its trend in Chemistry in TIMSS 2011 and TIMSS 2015, and to explore its implications for Korean science curriculum and in teaching science. With three science educators and six science teachers, we analyzed the characteristics of Korean eighth graders' achievement in Chemistry by test-curriculum matching analysis. According to the trend analysis of science topics with released items for Chemistry in TIMSS 2015, Korean students' percentage for correct answers has dropped in topics such as regularities in chemical reactions, oxidation-reduction, etc. since these topics are covered after the ninth grade in the 2009 revised curriculum. For science cognitive domains, Korean students showed weaknesses in 'applying' domain in TIMSS 2015. Based on the results, we suggested implications for improvement in middle school chemistry curriculum and how to improve science teaching and learning for students' better science competencies and real-world application of science knowledge.

A Study on the Factors Affecting the Success of Technology Marketing (기술마케팅 성공에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 분석)

  • This research aims to empirically analyze the factors that affect the success of technology marketing by Korean universities. The total of 207 universities which successfully made technology transfers from 2006 to 2008 was examined to test the nine hypotheses. For the purpose of testing the hypotheses, technology infrastructure (research costs and the number of SCIE papers), the compensation system for the patents (application and registration), the number of patents (application and registration), TLO staff (the number of people in charge of technology transfer and the job experience in industries), the compensation system for technology transfers (researchers and contributors), and attitudes of university management and industries were analyzed with structural equation methods to figure out their effects on the revenues of technology transfer. The results of this research are summarized as follows. First, technology infrastructures of universities were found to have positive effects on securing patents. As the university research costs in the field of science and technology are increases, the research capabilities are enhanced and this a larger number of researchers are conducted. Second, this research shows that compensation systems for patent application and registration in universities have motivated researchers to take out patents for the outputs of their research. Third, the number of patents universities possess was found to have a positive effect on technology transfer. An increase in the number of patents universities possess implies an increase in the diversity and excellence of the target technologies for transfer. Fourth, the number of patents universities possess turned out to have a positive effect on TLO staff. The number of experts in charge of technology transfer including technology dealers, valuation analysis and patent attorneys should be increased as target technologies for transfer increase according to the increase of patents possessed. Because the technologies are transferee from universities to businesses, businesses (job) experience of TLO staff in industries are also important. This research is meaningful because it has identified the factors affecting the results of technology transfer by employing structural equation methods. In particular, an official governmental survey data for the academic-industrial cooperation were analyzed systematically in terms of technology infrastructure, compensation systems related to patents, the number of patents, TLO staff, compensation systems for technology transfer, and attitudes of university management and industries. All these facts might could differentiate this study from the previous studies.

Comparative Analysis on Research Trends of International Research Cooperation Subject by Country (국가별 국제연구협력 주제 연구동향 비교분석)

  • This study presents an analysis of a total of 101 papers on the theme of international research cooperation by nation, gathered from Web of Science. The findings of this study show that 20 nations published papers on the theme of international research cooperation with the ranking of U.K.(27 papers, 26.7%), the Netherlands(20 papers, 19.8%), U.S.(19 papers, 18.8%), Brazil and Spain(5 papers, 5.0%), Russia(4 papers, 4.0%), etc. South Korea was found to be in the lower ranking group(2 papers, 2.0%), suggesting that it still has a lower level of international research cooperation. Thus, particularly, researchers at universities by institution and humanities by discipline should activate the publication of papers on international research cooperation by expanding relevant projects so that the international research capabilities of South Korea should be bolstered.

Leadership Experience through Guild Activities on Online Games : A Phenomenological Analysis (온라인 게임의 길드 활동을 통한 리더십 경험 : 현상학적 분석)

  • Numerous studies have been made on the negative effects of online games, as the negatives effects of the usage of online games have been recognized as social issues. However, this is a study on the positive functions of online gaming; more specifically, on how the guild activities on online games affect the user's leadership. This study has conducted in-depth interviews with online games, and drew the result using Giorgi's phenomenological analysis as for the methodology. 3 people participated in the research - a high school student, a university student, and an adult office worker - all of whom with experiences of guild leading on online games. To achieve the goal of this study, this study based the subjects' experience to analyze how online game guild activities have affected leadership on the subjects' real lives. As a result, timidity turned into initiation; not only leadership, but also decision making ability and coworking ability, as well as problem solving ability have shown improvement. Through this study, one can see that among the elements of online game, experience in guild activities is providing opportunities for enhancing leadership and possibilities for improving various other abilities. I hope more researchers continue studying interesting and diverse powers of online games based on this study.
