A study on the implementation of a digital video/audio system to support multi-audio format (다양한 오디오 포맷을 지원하는 비디오/오디오 시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the digital video and audio system is improved so that various digital video data formats in DVD disc, and digital audio data formats through the S/PDIF ports may be decoded. It is not easy to implement all decoding functions of video and audio by a DVD processor. The special structure in audio decoding circuit is proposed in this system so as to have simultaneously almost same video and audio performance in quality. By dividing the decoding circuit separately into video and audio part, the audio quality can be dramatically improved together with supporting several audio formats and with several effects. In order to satisfy the perfect audio system to support to audio decoding formats, it is just enough to get the expensive, complicated decoder. However, it may be not easy to get this expensive decoder in near future. Therefore it is rather to adopt the downloading method by which the host should download the appropriate code into memory by detecting the corresponding audio bit streams. It is proved that this method may be efficient in the point of sharing resource of audio data for video decoding.

A Framework of Intelligent Middleware for DNA Sequence Analysis in Cloud Computing Environment (DNA 서열 분석을 위한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 지능형 미들웨어 설계)

  • The development of NGS technologies, such as scientific workflows, has reduced the time required for decoding DNA sequences. Although the automated technologies change the genome sequence analysis environment, limited computing resources still pose problems for the analysis. Most scientific workflow systems are pre-built platforms and are highly complex because a lot of the functions are implemented into one system platform. It is also difficult to apply components of pre-built systems to a new system in the cloud environment. Cloud computing technologies can be applied to the systems to reduce analysis time and enable simultaneous analysis of massive DNA sequence data. Web service techniques are also introduced for improving the interoperability between DNA sequence analysis systems. The workflow-based middleware, which supports Web services, DBMS, and cloud computing, is proposed in this paper for expecting to reduceanalysis time and aiding lightweight virtual instances. It uses DBMS for managing the pipeline status and supporting the creation of lightweight virtual instances in the cloud environment. Also, the RESTful Web services with simple URI and XML contents are applied for improving the interoperability. The performance test of the system needs to be conducted by comparing results other developed DNA analysis services at the stabilization stage.

  • Recently, developments in the various fields of cloud computing technology has been utilized. Whereas the demand for cloud computing services is increasing, security threats are also increasing in the cloud computing environments. Especially, in case when the hosts interconnected in the cloud environments are infected and propagated through the attacks by malware. It can have an effect on the resource of other hosts and other security threats such as personal information can be spreaded and data deletion. Therefore, the study of malware analysis to respond these security threats has been proceeded actively. This paper proposes a type of attack clustering method of Zeus botnet using the k-means clustering algorithm for malware analysis that occurs in the cloud environments. By clustering the malicious activity by a type of the Zeus botnet occurred in the cloud environments. it is possible to determine whether it is a malware or not. In the future, it sets a goal of responding to an attack of the new type of Zeus botnet that may occur in the cloud environments.

A Reservation based Network Resource Provisioning Testbed Using the Integrated Resource Management System (통합자원관리시스템을 이용한 예약 기반의 네트워크 자원 할당 테스트베드 망)

  • The HPcN (Hybrid & high Performance Convergence Network) in research networks means environment which can provide both computing resource such as supercomputer, cluster and network resource to application researchers in the field of medical, bio, aerospace and e-science. The most representative research network in Korea, KREONET has been developing following technologies through the HERO (Hybrid Networking project for research oriented infrastructure) from 200S. First, we have constructed and deployed a control plane technology which can provide a connection oriented network dynamically. Second, the integrated resource management system technology has been developing for reservation and allocation of both computing and network resources, whenever users want to utilize them. In this paper, a testbed network is presented, which is possible to reserve and allocate network resource using the integrated resource management system. We reserve network resource through GNSI (Grid Network Service Interface) messages between GRS (Global Resource Scheduler) and NRM (Network Resource Manager) and allocate network resource through GUNI (Grid User Network Interface) messages between the NRM (network resource manager) and routers, based on reservation information provided from a user on the web portal. It is confirmed that GUNI interface messages are delivered from the NRM to each router at the starting of reservation time and traffic is transmitted through LSP allocated by the NRM.

A Large Scale Distributed Presence Service System by SIP Message Control Session (SIP 메시지 제어 세션에 의한 대용량 분산 프레즌스 서비스 시스템)

  • Presence service provides various information about users such as locations, status of on/offline and network access methods, and number of presence resources required by each users increases largely in mobile environment. Therefore an effective method which can reduce load of presence servers is needed. In this paper, a large scale distributed presence service system which can distribute effectively total presence system load of presence servers using message control session has been presented. This large scale distributed presence service system provides various presence information for massive volumes of users. In this study, a new message control session architecture which can dynamically distribute loads of the presence servers to multiple servers has been presented, and a new presence information data architecture for controlling load of the presence servers has been designed. In this architecture, each presence server can exchange current load level in real time to get variance of the total system load change according to user numbers, and can distribute system load to maintain load level of each server evenly. The performance of the proposed large scale distributed presence service system has been analysed by experiments. The results has been showed that average presence resource subscription processing time reduced from 42.6% to 73.6%, and average presence notification processing time reduced from 37.6% to 64.8%.

  • Learning C programming language in electronics education is an important basic education course for understanding computer programming and acquiring the ability to use microprocessors in embedded systems. In order to focus on understanding basic grammar and algorithms, it is a common teaching method to write programs based on C standard library functions in the console window and learn theory and practice in parallel. However, if a student wants to start a project activity or go to a deeper stage after acquiring some basic knowledge of the C language, using only the C standard library function in the console window limits what a student can express or control with the C program. For the purpose of making it easier for a student to use graphics or multimedia resources and increase educational value, this paper studies a case of applying Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL), an open source software, into the C programming language learning process. The SDL-based programming course applied after completing the basic programming curriculum performed in the console window is introduced, and the educational value is evaluated through a survey. As a result, more than 56% of the respondents expressed positive opinions in terms of improved application ability, stimulating interest, and overall usefulness, and less than 4% of them had negative opinions.

  • With development of mobile communications terminal and expansion of mobile Internet, a large number of users can use mobile web contents at anytime and anywhere and will demand service of greater contents. Due to such demand, many studies are being carried out on transcoding contents so that wired web contents can be used in mobile web. However, transcoding and creation of mobile web contents involve difficulties because specifications available from telecommunications companies and mobile terminals have not been standardized. Especially, in order for serving dynamic object of wired web page contents to dynamically change according to time or user, it is required not only to program scripts to suit each terminal, but also to transcode the resources used in advance. For solution to this problem, this study uses the hierarchy structure of DOM (document object model) to display structural characteristics of wired web page. In other words, this study proposes the following technique Wired web pages are analyzed and the results are established as data structure. Then, dynamic object is extracted and the domain is indexed so that, when serving mobile web page, information can be extracted at the indexed position to create mobile web contents for service on real-time basis.

  • Recently BIM technology has been expanded for using in construction project. Due to the high-cost of BIM infrastructure development, lack of regulations, lack of process and so forth, usage of BIM has been delayed than initial expectations. In design phase, especially, collaboration based on BIM system has been a key factor for successful next generation building project. Through the analysis of current research trends about IT technologies, virtualization and BIM service, data exchange such as drawings, 3D model, object data, properties using cloud computing and virtual server system is defined as a most successful solution. The purpose of this study is to enable the cloud computing BIM server to provide several main functions such as editing models, 3D model viewing and checking, mark-up and snapshot in high-performance quality by proper design of VDI system. Concurrent client connection performance is a main technical index of VDI. Through testing of test-bed server client, developed VDI system's multi-connect control is evaluated. Performance-test result of BIM server VDI effect to development direction of cloud computing BIM service for commercialization.

A Study on Lightweight Block Cryptographic Algorithm Applicable to IoT Environment (IoT 환경에 적용 가능한 경량화 블록 암호알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • The IoT environment provides an infinite variety of services using many different devices and networks. The development of the IoT environment is directly proportional to the level of security that can be provided. In some ways, lightweight cryptography is suitable for IoT environments, because it provides security, higher throughput, low power consumption and compactness. However, it has the limitation that it must form a new cryptosystem and be used within a limited resource range. Therefore, it is not the best solution for the IoT environment that requires diversification. Therefore, in order to overcome these disadvantages, this paper proposes a method suitable for the IoT environment, while using the existing block cipher algorithm, viz. the lightweight cipher algorithm, and keeping the existing system (viz. the sensing part and the server) almost unchanged. The proposed BCL architecture can perform encryption for various sensor devices in existing wire/wireless USNs (using) lightweight encryption. The proposed BCL architecture includes a pre/post-processing part in the existing block cipher algorithm, which allows various scattered devices to operate in a daisy chain network environment. This characteristic is optimal for the information security of distributed sensor systems and does not affect the neighboring network environment, even if hacking and cracking occur. Therefore, the BCL architecture proposed in the IoT environment can provide an optimal solution for the diversified IoT environment, because the existing block cryptographic algorithm, viz. the lightweight cryptographic algorithm, can be used.

Comparison of Performance Between Incremental and Batch Learning Method for Information Analysis of Cyber Surveillance and Reconnaissance (사이버 감시정찰의 정보 분석에 적용되는 점진적 학습 방법과 일괄 학습 방법의 성능 비교)

  • In the process of acquiring information through the cyber ISR (Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance) and research into the agent to help decision-making, periodic communication between the C&C (Command and Control) server and the agent may not be possible. In this case, we have studied how to effectively surveillance and reconnaissance. Due to the network configuration, agents planted on infiltrated computers can not communicate seamlessly with C&C servers. In this case, the agent continues to collect data continuously, and in order to analyze the collected data within a short time in When communication is possible with the C&C server, it can utilize limited resources and time to continue its mission without being discovered. This research shows the superiority of incremental learning method over batch method through experiments. At an experiment with the restricted memory of 500 mega bytes, incremental learning method shows 10 times decrease in learning time. But at an experiment with the reuse of incorrectly classified data, the required time for relearn takes twice more.
