This research explores the effect of Korean women's human capital on their employments. The first research question is which Korean women's human capital increase the rate of women's employment. And then the second research question is which Korean women's human capital affect the kind of women's job. In general, women's representative human capital indicates the educational attainment, the training of job skill, the certificate of job, and the their health. Human capital theoriests insist that individual's human capital determines the participation into the labor market, the type of job and wage. But in Korea it is well known that highly educated women's rate of employment is very low. The method of this research is logit analysis and regression analysis, using the cross-sectional data. We find in this research that women's human capital does not have a positive effect on women's employment rate. The longer women's schooling period is, the less women's participation rates into the labor market are. Women's training of job skill, certificate of job and health does not also have a statistical significance on their employment rate. Besides women's human capital does not affect the kind of job. So human capital theory is very limited explanation on Korean women's economic activities.

Support policies such as education and training for re-employment of career-interrupted women are being implemented, but they are not being effectively employed. In addition, it is difficult for women with high educational background to re-enter, such as having to revise their previous careers or plan a new career for re-employment. In the previous studies, there was insufficient research to solve fundamental problems for re-employment, such as promising jobs with high employment opportunities. Therefore, when developing a curriculum for women with career interruptions, it was felt the need to select educational occupations that would be helpful in finding employment by age and educational background of the trainees. In this study, data on vocational training education of women with career interruptions were used to analyze the educational occupations with the highest employment rate by age and educational background.
In order to support women with career breaks to re-enter the labor market, it is not only necessary to discover and select promising jobs, but also to provide objective and accurate job information on selected promising jobs so that women with career breaks can make reasonable career choices. need arises. It can be pointed out that the government support course has no burden of tuition compared to the general course, and because the quality of education is high, it is possible to select trainees with a high willingness to find employment through competition in the recruitment process. In addition, the government support process secures relatively high-quality programs and instructors, increasing trainees' concentration, satisfaction, and willingness to find a job. Job literacy and employment preparation education are obligatory, job design support through job counseling, and continuous follow-up support. The system also works. Accordingly, if systematic and continuous development and support are made in the process of selecting promising occupations for women with career breaks and designing education and training programs, it is expected that women with career breaks will be more active in their re-entry into the labor market.
Using the fourth data of the Korea Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS), this paper analyzed sexual differences in the promotion possibility and the promotion experience. Effects on wage of the promotion possibility and the promotion experience have been also discussed in detail. The promotion probability of a male worker in his current job is as high as twice than that of a female worker after controlling other independent variables. However, if we restrict the analysis to workers who either can be or was promoted, the sexual difference in the promotion possibility is greatly narrowed. This result suggests that the continuous career development without disruption is critical for the promotion of female workers. Analysing the sexual difference in wage using Oaxaca and Ransom's methodology, explanatory variables, such as human capital, residential area, etc., explained 69.5% of wage difference between male and female workers. Especially, 13.9% of wage difference was contributed to sexual differences in the promotion possibility and the promotion experience. This kind of empirical result emphasized once again the importance of promotion on wage.
This study examines the factors that influence the chance of getting a full-time tenure track? position in universities in biochemistry. Its main findings are: first, as age at the time of getting a Ph.D. degree increases and the more recent a birth-cohort a female Ph.D. belonged to, the more likely she was likely to get a job; second, the number of citations of publications in science-citation indexed journals during a Ph.D. program period and the number of publications in science-citation indexed journals in post Ph.D. period increased her chance of getting a job; third, a post doctoral program and the duration of Ph.D. training did not affect a chance of getting a job; finally, a Ph.D. from a foreign university and a prestige ranking of a Ph.D. program did not influence a chance of getting a job.
Predominant explanations of the persistence of sex segregation ill occupations link job choices to profoundly gendered responses to childbearing and other family demands, arguing that women are more likely to seek jobs which are in some sense compatible with motherhood, either because they are family friendly (flexible, low intensity work) or because they are easy to exit and re-enter. In this paper, I examine the effect of occupational sex segregation on job exits into the labor market among women, with a special attention to the role of childbearing and child rearing. I use data from detailed employment histories gathered from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY) in continuous time event history models. My results indicate that women in female dominated jobs are less likely to exit their jobs than women in other types of occupations. Further this relationship is not shaped by motherhood. While mothers or pregnant women are more likely to leave work, mothers in female-dominated occupations are slightly less likely to leave employment than mothers in other occupations. These results are not consistent with the ideas that women's choice of female-dominated occupations expresses a gendered identity and women strategically seek jobs which accommodate maternal roles. Taken together, my findings do not provide support to the idea that women choose female-dominated occupations because they are easier to integrate with motherhood (except for the pregnancy period).
This study discusses factors that affect on female workers' stress from nurturing. Referring to the first research (2008) and the second research (2009) of KLoWF, the study analyzed the data of 218 female workers with one or more preschool children. The results from the analysis are as the following. First, the female workers who acknowledge her image as a traditional woman are more likely to be exposed to greater stress. Therefore, now working mothers need to free themselves from the traditional idea. Second, since it was clearly observed that husbands' who share family responsibilities has a significant impact on women's stress from nurturing, a new focus should be on the effectiveness of husband's sharing of family responsibilities, whereas it has been mainly focused on education of working mothers. Third, considering the result that nurturing expense variable showed a significant statistics, there is a desperate need of a political task to support nurturing expenses.
This article analyzes the formative factors of the basic job skills(also the ability of computer using) and the economic effects of the basic job skills in Korea. This article uses the ALL(Adult Literacy and Life Skills) 2005 data in Korea. The factors which form the basic job skills are school years, father's education. Women are under men in the ability of computer using. The older a man grow, the more basic job skills he has, but the less ability of computer using he has. The employees in office worker or new service industry have more using computer ability than them in sales worker or manufacture industry. The wage effects of the basic job skills are insignificant, and the economic effects of basic job skills appear apparently in the entry into the good jobs. As the basic job skills can play a important role to enter into the good jobs, the policy agenda should make deal with the methods and programs through which the people without basic job skills must have the opportunities to get a lifelong learning for the basic job skills.
