In order to select the best strains to have the feasibility of Cheonghju brewing, 10 wild type yeast strains from 300 different types of Nuruk were investigated on their ethanol resistance, resistance to glucose and flocculation. The amounts of alcohol, organic acids, and volatile compounds, Brix, pH were also examined for the alcoholic beverages made with the 10 selected strains. Almost all strains showed alcohol production activities in the medium containing 18%(v/v) ethanol and 29%(w/v) glucose. The strains 90-2 showed a higher flocculation activity than other strains. Strains 54-3, 90-2 and 91-5 produced more alcohol than control strain (7.42%(w/w)) when fermented with wild type yeast strains. In addition, alcoholic beverages containing low acetic acid also showed low levels of total acidity. GC/MS analysis of the product showed 4 alcohols, 11 esters and 1 acid as volatile compounds. Selected strains were tentatively identified as Phichia sydowiorum (91-5), Zygosaccharomyces cidri (192-2 and 271-4), and as Saccharomyces cerevisiae (18-2, 54-3, 90-2, 91-2, 98-2, 99-5 and 272-7) by BIIOLOG method.

Mechanism of calcium transport inhibition of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) by oxygen free radicals was examined. Effects of oxygen free radicals generated by xanthine/xanthine oxidase (X/XO) system on isolated porcine ventricle SR were studied with respect to its calcium binding, lipid peroxidation, SH-group content and alteration of membrane protein components. The results are as follows. 1) Calcium binding of isolated SR was markedly inhibited by X/XO. 2) During the incubation of sarcoplasmic reticulum with xanthine/xanthine oxidase, there were marked inclose in lipid peroxidation and reduction of SH-group content. 3) An antioxidant, p-phenylenediamine effectively prevented the lipid peroxidation but partially prevented the calcium binding inhibition of X/XO treated SR. 4) The reduction of SH-group content of SR treated with X/XO was partially prevented by p-phenylendiamine. 5) When modifying SH-group of SR by treatment with DTNB, the inhibition of calcium binding activity was partially prevented. 6) On gel-permeation chromatography of X/XO-treated sarcoplasmic reticulum, there was an increase of small molecular weight products, probably protein degradation products. 7) Semicarbazide, which prevents the cross-linking reaction of protein components, did not affect the calcium binding inhibition of X/XO-treated SR. From these results, it is suggested that the inhibition of calcium binding of SR by oxygen free radicals results from the consequence of multiple changes of SR components, which are lipid peroxidation, SH-group oxidation and degradation of protein components.

본 사업은 1994년부터 1996년까지 3년 간 시범사업으로 추진된 지역정보화 사업의 과제인 창원/마산 지역정보 유통망 구축사업을 확대 발전시키고 시스템 운영의 효율화를 도모하고자 DB를 통합하여 확대 재 구축함으로써 전자상거래 기반의 인터넷을 통한 웹 정보 이용 활성화 차원에서 추진되었다. 기 구축되었던 $\ulcorner$창원/마산 지역정보유통망 구축사업$\lrcorner$은 정보화를 통한 지역경제 발전에 일익을 담당하고자 관. 산. 연이 참여한 지역정보화 사업이다. 이러한 창원/마산지역 산업체에 대한 지원효과를 이번에 확대하여 그 동안 Multimedia, Graphics, Web 등 정보화 환경이 크게 변화, 발전됨에 따라 현실적이며 현장적용형 패키지의 개발 지원이 대두된 $\ulcorner$경남지역 정보화확산사업$\lrcorner$은 연구개발정보센터와 창원시, 진해시, 한국기계연구원이 매칭 펀드에 의한 대응자금으로 구축한 시스템이다. 정보수집대상은 경남지역에 소재하고 있는 20개 산업단지 3,700여 입주기업을 정보수집요원이 직접 방문하여 현장에서 필요로 하는 요구정보를 반영하였다. 신규로 구축한 정보는 산업기반 기업체기본정보 DB 및 기업 기술개발 현장적용형 기술정보 패키지정보를 중심으로 구축하였으며, 인터넷 활용교육을 통한 동종 업종간 정보교류체제 구축하였다. 특히 Cyber Market을 구현하기 위해 1,200여건의 기업체정보 및 제조상품 DB를 응용한 제품 Mall 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 본 사업을 통하여 경남지역 산업단지에 입주한 기업체의 정보 활용을 극대화하여 지역경제 발전에 기여함과 동시에 국내 지역정보화 시범모델로서 위상을 확립하고자 한다.을 기업의 타인자본비용과 자기자본비용의 조합인 기회자본비용으로 할인함으로써 현재의 기업가치를 구할 수 있기 때문이다. 이처럼 기업이 영업활동이나 투자활동을 통해 현금을 창출하고 소비하는 경향은 해당 비즈니스 모델의 성격을 규정하는 자료도로 이용될 수 있다. 또한 최근 인터넷기업들의 부도가 발생하고 있는데, 기업의 부실원인이 어떤 것이든 사회전체의 생산력의 감소, 실업의 증가, 채권자 및 주주의 부의 감소, 심리적 불안으로 인한 경제활동의 위축, 기업 노하우의 소멸, 대외적 신용도의 하락 등과 같은 사회적·경제적 파급효과는 대단히 크다. 이상과 같은 기업부실의 효과를 고려할 때 부실기업을 미리 예측하는 일종의 조기경보장치를 갖는다는 것은 중요한 일이다. 현금흐름정보를 이용하여 기업의 부실을 예측하면 기업의 부실징후를 파악하는데 그치지 않고 부실의 원인을 파악하고 이에 대한 대응 전략을 수립하며 그 결과를 측정하는데 활용될 수도 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기업의 부도예측 정보 중 현금흐름정보를 통하여 '인터넷기업의 미래 현금흐름측정, 부도예측신호효과, 부실원인파악, 비즈니스 모델의 성격규정 등을 할 수 있는가'를 검증하려고 한다. 협력체계 확립, ${\circled}3$ 전문인력 확보 및 인력구성 조정, 그리고 ${\circled}4$ 방문보건사업의 강화 등이다., 대사(代謝)와 관계(關係)있음을 시사(示唆)해 주고 있다.ble nutrient (TDN) was highest in booting stage (59.7%); however no significant difference was found among other stages. This study was performed to elucidate the effects of lead poisoning on the reproductive organ of rats. After consecutive oral administrations of lead acetate, the weights of testis, the numbers and motilities of sperms and histological changes of organs were compared between control and experimental groups. 1. Testis weights of 1,000, 2,000 or 4,000 ppm/kg of lead acetate-administrated rats decreased compared with control group in dose-dependent manner. 2. The sperm numbers of 1,000, 2,000 or 4,000 ppm/kg of lead acetate-administrated rats were lowered significantly in dose dependent manners than those of control groups. 3. The sperm motilities of 1,000, 2,000 or 4,000 ppm/kg of lead acetate-administrated rats decreased in dose-dependent manners compared with those of control groups. 4. The weights of livers and kidneys of 1,000, 2,000 or 4,000 ppm/kg of lead acetate-administrated rats decreased or increased. The weights of livers increased and the kidney weights decreased and changes were dose-independent manner. 5. Necrosis of hepatocytes around the central veins, infiltrations of neutrophils, accumulations of bile and infiltrations of fine granules-harboring macrophages in psychymal and interstitial tissues were found out in the livers of copper sulfate-administrated rats. The Bowman's capsule, tubular epithelium and includes in nucleus of kidneys were filled with hyaline materials and hematophilic centers appeared in several lymph nodes.

The extracellular endoinulase from Streptomyces sp. 556 was purified and characterized, The culture broth was fractionated by ammonium sulfate saturation followed by DEAE-cellulose column chromatography and 5ephadex G-200 gel filtration, The ultimately purified fraction revealed a single band in 7.5% polyacrylamide gel electropherogram. The purified enzyme showed the maximal activity at pH 5.5-6.0 and $50^{\circ}C$, but lost 93% of inulase activity after 30 min incubation at $55^{\circ}C$ . The essen.tial amino acid residue for catalytic activity appeared to be tryptophan. This endo inulase was activated by $Mn^{2+}$, whereas inactivated by $Ag^{+}$, $Hg^{+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, $Fe^{3+}$ and $Mo^{6+}$ EDTA and 8-hydroxyquinoline inhibited the enzyme so that the enzyme was considered to be a metalloenzyme. The Km value for inulin was 0.287 mM, and no invertase or $\alpha$-glucosidase activity was found in the enzyme.

For the development of the anti-obesity natural drug, the inhibitor of adipocyte differentiation was screened from Korean traditional medicinal plants. Phellodendri Cortex was selected as a candidate of adipocyte differentiation inhibitor. An inhibitory compound PC-4 was purified from the methanol (MeOH) extract of Phellodendri Cortex using silica gel and ODS RP-18 column chromatography and HPLC. PC-4 was obtained as yellow powder; UV ${\lambda}_{max}$ (MeOH): 230, 260, 340 and 430 nm. The chemical structure of PC-4 was determined as an isoquionoline alkaloid, berberine, on the basis of various NMR experiments including $^1H-\;and\;^{13}C-NMR$. The PC-4 inhibited the differentiation of preadipocyte NIH-3T3 L1 cells at a concentration of $1\;{\mu}g/mL$.

In clinical dentistry, it is not difficult to meet the permanent first molars with severe coronal caries lesions in children or adolescents. The circumstances surrounding the first molars of children and adolescents are so immature and imperfect compared with those of adults. So we thought it significant to understand the status of these teeth at the moment of endodontic treatment and immediate cause of it. 106 patients with 135 permanent molars necessitating endodontic treatment in childhood and adolescence were included in this study, and the dental records and radiographs were examined. 1. The mean age was 11.9 year (male 11.5, female 12.5) and the result shows significant difference between gender(p<0.05). The mandibular teeth took more than half percentage than maxillary teeth. 2. Of 135 teeth, 45.2 percent of teeth had history of dental treatment previously and 16.3 percent of teeth showed necessity of re-endodontic treatment. 3. Of 73 teeth, 22 teeth had mesial-wall cavity causing endodontic treatment, 39 had occlusal cavity, and 12 had distal cavity.

Gardening activities, plant raising, and general flowerbeds the public makes today can be found in the original form of cottage gardens in the United Kingdom. A cottage garden is a popular garden style of modern Britain, implying unique Englishness including ethnic sense and vernacular. In addition, the purpose of this study is to consider the modern movement in the United Kingdom in the past 200 years and read Englishness of cottage gardens through style differentiation and background of occurrence of cottage gardens appearing in this process. Therefore, this study is summarized as follows. First, a view of nature of the Englishman loving freedom and landscape acts as a key part of patriotism and is connected to the preservation of idyllic England. For this ideal of the Englishman of the country, idyllic British characteristics are found in various literatures and artistic fruits; cottage gardens, that is a form of new garden, were made with invigoration of supply and collection of plants. Second, an early form of cottage gardens was the domestic garden, in which there is a vegetable garden by middle-class move to a suburb according to urbanization, but evolved into a form of garden having both artistry and regionality, vernacular, and ecological characteristics with various situations of modern society(handicraft promotion movement, preservation of remains, and ancient building restoration movement). Wild gardens occurring in this process are a type of garden realizing wild fields and forests in the United Kingdom;they have made a big impact on many garden designers up to now. Cottage gardens, reflecting a variety of Englishness, is a subject of city planning and flower shows and is a culture symbolizing the United Kingdom.

Cultural content is also the result of 'creation', but it is also the 'process' of understanding creation, practice, and difference. Therefore, content should be selected as high-quality content that fills the contents of fusion and knowledge, while it is popular. Confucius, the founder of East Asian humanism, influenced the philosophy of food and shelter, and the dietary life in the late Joseon period. Confucius influenced not only Confucian scholars but also the food hall of the Joseon Dynasty. "mwon-kyungje" Jeongjo-ji is an encyclopedia of food and cuisine, which consists of four volumes of seven chapters and deals with ingredients, recipes and benefits of foods and the relevant taboos. Here the author compiled more than a thousand recipes not just for meat and vegetable dishes but for various kinds of beverage such as soft and boiled drink, for confectionery sweets such as honey cookies and sugar candies, and even for wine and liquor "mwon-kyungje" As he lived to the age of 72, he looked back at his life and said that he should be careful about what to do and how to do well. The food culture of Confucius has been recorded in the daily life of the Josin period and is influenced by Suwon Seo-gu, "mwon-kyungje".

A DNA sequence encoding the adr subtype preS2 region of hepatitis B virus envelope protein was fused to 5' end of lacZ gene yielding a plasmid pTSZ, in order to produce a preS2-$\beta$-galactosidase fusion protein. Serial deletions from 3' and 5' end of preS2 were constructed in plasmids, which were expressed and their antigenicities were examined with the monoclonal antibody H8. Deletions from amino and carboxy terminal to certain points did not affect the antigenicity, but the longer deletions destroyed the antigenicity. End points of deleted preS2 sequence were determined by DNA sequencing. As a result, each end of preS2 epitope was located in the region of amino acid residue 130-132 and 140-142, respectively. Residue 143 may be supplementary for antigenic epitope since the deletion from carboxy terminal to residue 143 revealed partial defect of antigenicity. In the interval of antigenic epitope the amino acid differences between adr and adw2 subtype occurred ar residue 130, 132, and 141. This result indicated that one or more of the three residues are responsible for the binding specificity of monoclonal antibody H8 to adr subtype preS2 fusion protein.
