  • The universe of discourse presented in the visual image is bound up with the experience and culture of parties; its sender and recipient. Signification of visual message is revealed through the mutual independent process. The mechanism where production of signifiant by sender and reception of metaphoric signifiant function unconsciously can be applied to Lacan's theory;"The unconscious is structured like a language". By applying Lacan's metaphoric formula which takes linguistic approach to visual image it is suggested that analysis of signification is possible. This analysis can be a base for seeking varied level of signifiant presented in visual metaphor logically and practically. Metaphoric structure of the signifiant and the matrix analysis can develop a creative idea and propose a practical way for the visual image production. Thus empirical study about nastic response and the future analysis result is expected to be possible.

  • The construction industry is a labor-oriented and quality, cost, and schedule performance is effected by technicians. However, the construction industry have faced a labor shortage problem. Therefore, technician graying and no new workers inflow cause labor shortage and decline of worker's skill level. The utilization of foreign technicians instead of domestic technicians has been increased in the construction industry. This paper performed questionnaire survey for 43 managers on 14 project fields to determine the current status and problems of construction technicians and to propose a improvement plan. As a result, most foreign technicians are carpenters and iron workers, but the skill levels are generally lower than domestics. The major problems for foreign technicians are communication and non-skilled. Then, labor productivity and accident rates of foreign technicians are higher than domestics. This paper proposes that skill training programs, language lessons, and multi-cultural programs are effective to improve foreign workers' problems.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Jeju dialect of service worker on tourist image, tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. The Regional dialect can be viewed as a cultural element that characterizes the region, It also serves as a medium to inform tourists of the feelings they experience while they are out of their area and visiting other areas. As a result of the study, it was found that the communication factors in the language communication of dialects had a positive(+) effect on the cognitive and emotional images of tourist sites. Interesting factors showed positive(+) effect on cognitive image of sightseeing spot, but did not affect emotional image. As a result of the study, it should be noted that excessive use of regional dialects may not necessarily have a positive effect on the emotions of tourists. If you want to develop tourist products using dialects, you need to pay attention to the use of words and expressions so that there is no misunderstanding.

For gender Representation of animation character, as it can be thought that linguistic elements for signification with audience are materialized, it has a significant value when it comes to communication with audience. Commercial success of Disney's feature length animation Frozen is from excellent aesthetic principles and techniques and global marketing capabilities of Disney studio. However, independent and active gender representation of Elsa and Anna in Frozen are more important commercial successful elements. Especially, Gender representation of these two characters reflects myth of women who live in this modern society so their linguistic meaning can appear affluently. Especially in North Korea, self-reliance ideology(Juche Idea) and idolization of Kim Il Sung influenced the place names. With local administrative district reform in 1952, names of district and village were changed on national scale. After this survey, North Korea made alteration of place names in terms of idolization of Kim Il Sung family as well as socialist revolution. Encyclopedia of place names were widely published. • Smartphone has become a part of many people's daily lives. The mobile messenger function on the smartphone in particular is the most frequently used services. The mobile communication tool in the age of digital media can be classified into two big categories: text messages and emoticons, the non-verbal expression tool of one's emotions. This thesis has studied the mobile communications made by the non-verbal tool of emoticons. The history of emoticons traces back to the text-based emoticon created by Scott Fahlman, from which graphical emoticons were developed and the sound and animation effects have been added. Many people use emoticons and diverse companies are developing the tool. In this study, the representative emoticon development case of Line Co., Ltd. is analyzed to see the concept, types, development process, collaborations and merchandising of the emoticons. Based on the case of Line, the development orientation and direction of domestic emoticons will be discussed to be culture contents.

  • Along with advance in visual culture, the importance of motion graphic has been increasingly emphasized day by day, which can maximize information delivery using image illustration and typography, graphic factors of images. In addition, we can easily see increasing cases where what a designer intends is visualized using creative typography in diverse mass media such as TV commercials, movies or web. Thanks to the effects of this trend, various ways of manufacturing works have been proposed in the field of motion typography by applying diverse factors including verbal ones, time, form, motion, colors, and sound for the purpose of expressing formless semantic notions through visual form of typography. However, physiological features such as sex, age, health status, pathological conditions, and body size can have a bigger effect on the process of real communication. Therefore, if property of quasi-verbal sound can be reflected appropriately in motion typography where communication is expressed only by visual form, it can enable people to understand what a designer intends faster and more exactly.

First, the quantitative change in media coverage was analyzed according to the criteria by time, subject and media type. In addition, keyword frequency analysis and semantic network analysis were conducted to analyze the trends of the contents of the press and the frames inherent in the press. The results showed that the media showed a major interest in the library's informational, educational, and cultural functions, and the trend of the subject's interest was generally consistent with that of the library community, except for the issue of librarianship.
