This study investigated the influence of mother attachment and rejection sensitivity on school-age children's loneliness. The participants were 441 school-age children in Daegu or Gyeongbok Province. The collected data were analyzed by One-way and Two-way ANOVA, and Multiple Regressions, using SPSS PC(15.0 version). The results were as follows. (1) School-age children with a lower level of mother attachment perceived higher level of loneliness than children with a higher level of mother attachment. And school-age children with a higher level of rejection sensitivity perceived higher level of loneliness than children with a lower level of rejection sensitivity. (2) School-age children with a lower level of mother attachment perceived higher level of rejection sensitivity than children with a higher level of mother attachment. (3) The explanation power of rejection sensitivity on school-age children's loneliness was rather higher than mother attachment.
This study aimed to examine the mediation effects of foreign-born mothers' daily stress, depression, and neglectful parenting in the influence of mothers' acculturative stress on children's carrier barrier in multicultural families. For testing research questions, using Model 6 of the SPSS PROCESS Macro, this study analyzed simple and multiple mediation effects with a sample of 1,021 adolescents with Korean fathers and foreign-born mothers from the 8th wave's raw data of the Multicultural Adolescent Panel Study (MAPS). The main results are as follows. First, mothers' acculturative stress positively influenced children's carrier barrier. Second, mother's daily stress and neglectful parenting individually mediated the influence of mothers' acculturative stress on children's carrier barrier. Third, mother's depression and neglectful parenting dual-mediated the influence of mothers' acculturative stress on children's carrier barrier. Fourth, a triple mediation of mothers' daily stress, depression, and neglectful parenting was found in the influence of mothers' acculturative stress on children's carrier barrier. Based on the results, strategies to support the career development of multicultural adolescents were suggested.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family environment and individual psychological variables on adolescent's problem behaviors. The subjects of this study were 855 students of middle school who reside in Seoul and 791 self-reported questionnaires were used for final analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, gender differences in adolescent's problem behaviors were not found. Second, depression, mother's monitoring and father's parenting behavior were found to have effects on adolescents' problem behaviors. Particularly, male adolescents' problem behaviors were influenced by depression and father's parenting behavior. Female adolescents' problem behaviors were influenced by depression, father's monitoring, and mother's monitoring.
This study looked into changes in the parenting stress and the depression of mothers whose children at the age of three or younger have been suffering from developmental risk, and discussed how the parenting stress would constantly influence the depression. In order to achieve the research goal, the study used the data from the Panel Study of Korean Children. According to the findings of the study, first of all, the parenting stress increased significantly for the next four years after the childbirth. The study also understood that there are personal differences among the mothers in relation to how much the stress gets worse overtime. Second, more severe the parenting stress during the year of the childbirth, the greater the depression during the same year, and this parenting stress's being intensified even more greatly for the four years right after the childbirth turned out to have a significant effect on how much the depression develops. What this study has found out so far confirms that the depression of the mothers will get reduced when the mothers of the children with the developmental risks before the age of three try to efficiently deal with their parenting stress.

Objects:This study investigated whether depression, anxiety and perceived parental rearing patterns of the conduct disorder patients are different from those of the normal control group. The correlations were also assessed between perceived parenting style and depression, anxiety, severity of conduct problems and age at onset of conduct disorder in adolescents with conduct disorder. Methods:Thirty hospitalzed patients who met the DSM-Ⅳ criteria of conduct disorder, and 30 normal control subjects completed self-report questionnaires containing the Children’s Depression Inventory(CDI), the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children(STAIC) and the Parental Bonding Instrument(PBI). Results:In the conduct disorder group, the results were as follows:1) The mean scores of CDI and STAIC-T(Trait) were not significantly different from those of the control group, but STAIC-S (State) showed significantly higher scores. 2) Parenting style was perceved to be less caring and more overprotective than in the control subjects. 3) There were negative correlations between maternal care and CDI and between maternal care and severity of conduct problems. 4) There were positive correlations between maternal overprotection and STAIC-T(Trait). 5) There were no correlations between paternal rearing patterns and depression, anxiety, severity of conduct problems, or age at onset of conduct disorder. Conclusion:We failed to identify depression and anxiety as common comorbid disorders in conduct disorder. Parental rearing patterns are thought to be significantly negativistic in conduct disorder group. It is guessed that less caring and more overprotective rearing style of parents, especially of mothers, could have much influence on depression and anxiety, more severe conduct problems and earlier age at onset of conduct disorder in the adolescents with conduct disorder.
The purpose of this study was to employ the Latent Growth Curve Model to investigate the developmental trajectories of maternal depressive symptoms and to identify predictors that might have an effect on change and the level of developmental trajectories. The results of this study indicated that the maternal depressive levels of a high risk group had increased significantly over the past 5 years. The predictors for these developmental trajectories of maternal depressive symptoms were as follows; birth order, maternal prenatal depressive levels, self-esteem, marital satisfaction, parenting stress and the level of family crisis experienced by the high risk group.
This study aims to examine the mediating effects of paternal depression on the relationship between traditional gender role attitudes and the perceived maternal gatekeeping roles of fathers with young children. For this purpose, a survey was conducted by 366 married fathers who raises at least one child who is under seven years old. Mplus 7.0 was used to analyze the structural equation model, and the result showed that higher traditional gender role attitudes relate to more depressive symptoms, higher perceptions of maternal gate closing and lower perceptions of maternal gate opening. Also, more depressive symptoms were related to higher perceptions of maternal gate closing and lower perceptions of maternal gate opening. Additionally, the partial mediation effects of depression were observed in the relationship between traditional gender role attitudes and maternal gate keeping. Based on the findings, implications for therapeutic interventions were discussed, and recommendations for future research are presented.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to assess the parenting stress in mothers of premature infants and stress related characteristics of mothers and infants. Methods: The methodology was a cross sectional survey study using self-report questionnaires. Participants in this study were 36 mothers of infants with corrected ages of 4 months to 12 months who were born prematurely. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation with the SPSS WIN 19.0 program. Results: The mean score for parenting stress in mothers of premature infants was $74.639{\pm}17.570$, indicating that the mothers actually experienced stress. When mothers were able to have some private time, parenting stress was statistically significantly lower. When the residential status was having one's own house and the local community provided informational support regarding child nurturing, there was a statistically significant decrease in the sub-category of particular infant temperament. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between mothers' depression and parenting stress. Conclusion: These results indicate that there is a need for nursing interventions to increase mothers' private time and to include informational support regarding health management of children including developmental status assessment from local communities.

The purpose of this study was to investigate psychological separation, depression and antidepressive coping behaviors and to examine the relationship between psychological separation, and depression in Korean university students. The subjects were 131 students who were in 4 university in Chungcheong-do, Korea. The data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire using the psychological separation index, beck depression inventory and antidepressive coping behaviors instrument. The level of depression was classified into; not depressed, 54.2%; mildly depressed, 22.9%; moderately depressed, 16.8%; severely depressed, 6.1%. Among antidepressive coping behaviors, cognitive activity-oriented behaviors was the one with highest percentage(30.8%). Depression was negatively related to functional independence, attitudinal independence, emotional independence from father and conflictual independence from mother. And depression was positively related to conflictual independence from father. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop nursing intervention to strengthen psychological separation form parents and to be able to help desirable antidepressive coping behaviors for the psychological health of university students.

In adolescence, the symptoms of depression are more various and different from those of adult. Conduct behaviours are frequently represented in adolescent's depression. The patients who have the depression and conduct disorder are defined as depressive condor disorder in ICD-10. We hypothesized that there might be different parental rearing patterns between the patients with depression alone and the depressive conduct disorder. We applied children's depression inventory (CDI), parental rating form for conduct disorder based on DSM-III-R, and parental bonding instrument (PBI) to patients and normal control adolescent group. The results were as follows : 1) There were no significant differences in severity of depressive symptoms, maternal care, maternal overprotection, and paternal care. 2) Paternal overprotection showed significant higher scores in depressive conduct disorder group than depression group and normal control group. 3) There were positive correlations in the severity of depressive symptoms and behavior problems in all subjects. 4) There were no correlations in maternal care and overprotecion with conduct problems, but with depressive symptoms in all subject. 4) There were no correlations in paternal care with conduct problems and depressive symptoms in all subjects. 5) There were significant correlations in patienral overprotective, intrusive attitudes with conduct problems, not with depressive symptoms in all subjects.
