Convergence analysis of safety management for radiation workers and diagnostic radiation-generator devices of animal hospital in Korea (국내 동물병원의 진단용 방사선 발생장치 및 방사선 관계종사자 안전관리에 관한 융복합적 분석)

  • The various types of radiation-generator devices have been used in animal hospitals, and the safety for radiation workers is becoming important in Korea. This study investigated and analyzed the radiation safety management for diagnostic radiation-generator devices and radiation workers of animal hospital. The number of radiation-generator devices and radiation workers of animal hospital increased from 2,138 to 2,972 and from 2,644 and 5,733 for six years. The number of general X-ray, CT, C-arm, portable and dental X-ray in 2019 were 2,204, 58, 67, 770, and 14. The number of veterinarian, veterinary nurse, veterinary assistant, and others in 2019 were 4,236, 1,080, 404, and 13. The average exposure dose of radiation workers in 2018 were 0.21mSv in surface dose, 0.18mSv in depth doses. This study is expected to be the basic data for the safety management of radiation-generating devices and radiation workers in animal hospital.

The Effects of Patient Safety Culture Perception and Patient Safety Competencies on Patient Safety Management Activities in Nurses (간호사의 환자안전문화 인식과 환자안전역량이 환자안전관리활동에 미치는 영향에 대한 융복합 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the impact on patient safety management activities. In this study, 134 nurses from three local hospitals were investigated for patient safety culture recognition, patient safety capacity, and patient safety management activities, and the impact on patient safety management activities was thus attempted. The patient safety culture recognition level was 4.25/5, the patient safety capacity was 4.37/5, the patient safety management activity was 4.26/5, and the patient safety awareness and patient safety capability(r=.765, p<.001) and Patient Safety Capacity and Patient Safety Management Activity (r=.837, p<.001) and Patient Safety Capacity and Recognition of Patient Safety Culture(r=.728, p<.001) had a significant amount of correlation. Factors affecting patient safety management activities(β=.582, p<.001), Patient Safety Culture Recognition(β=.3632, p<.001), position(β=-.132, p=.009) Patient safety requires strengthening the capabilities of nurses and systematic training and evaluation of continuous patient safety activities.

Attitude and Confidence on Patient Safety of Undergraduate Healthcare profession students (보건의료전공 대학생들의 환자안전에 대한 태도와 수행자신감)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude and confidence of patient safety in undergraduate healthcare professions students. The subjects consisted of 145 grade 3,4 students who have had clinical practice in nursing and emergency medical technician schools in a J province from June 1st to 30th in 2016. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that the attitude of nursing students were more positive, but there was no difference in patient safety self-confidence and patient safety education experience, and the students who had experienced medical errors saw positive attitude and self-confidence. Based on the results of this study, I propose case-based multidisciplinary contents development to nurture emergency healthcare professions

Convergence Comparative Analysis of Young-Old and Old-Old Patients Hospitalized Owing to Injury (손상으로 입원한 전·후기 노인의 융복합 비교분석)

  • This study aimed to understand the differences in general characteristics, principal diagnosis, injury-related characteristics, and types of transportation accidents between young-old and old-old patients who were hospitalized owing to injury based on data from the Korean National Hospital Discharge In-Depth Injury Surveys. We used a complex sample cross tabulation analysis (chi-square test) and complex sample generalized linear model (t-test). Therefore, the primary focus of healthcare professionals working with the old-old should prevent falls in the home and increase the available medical care, financial aid plans, and psychosocial support for aging. Additionally education on traffic accident prevention and road safety is particularly important for old-old patients.

Influence of Safety Culture Perception, Safety Control and Safety Management Activities as Perceived for Nurses in Nursing Home (융복합의 장기요양시설 간호사의 환자안전문화인식과 안전통제감이 안전관리활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has been done to identify the effect of safety culture perception, safety control and safety management activities as perceived by nursing home nurses. A total of 146 cases recruited safety culture perception, safety control and safety management activities. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program. The factor that had the most impact on safety management activities were safety culture perception (${\beta}=.40$, p<.001), safety control (${\beta}=.27$, p=.002), experience of safety education (${\beta}=.19$, p=.015), age (${\beta}=.19$, p=.027). The regression model explained 34.5% of the variances(F=5.51, p<.001). The study finding suggests that to develop the program with achievement of safety management activities for nurses of the nursing home.

  • The study was conducted to investigate and identify safety awareness and traffic accident relation. Data collection used raw data from the 6th year(2014) to the 7th year(2017) of the National Health and Nutrition Survey. Subjects of the study were conducted on 421 people with experience in traffic accidents and the analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Data analysis determined safety awareness and traffic accident using frequency and ratio, Chi-Square, and logistics return analysis. The more Basic Living Allowance, the more do not Seat belts in the front seat of the car, the more Professional are related to traffic accidents. It is expected that this will contribute to making basic data for future studies related to reduction of traffic accident patients.

  • Recently due to the increasing uncertainty of the disaster environment caused by climate change the effects of disasters have become larger due to the confluence and solidification diversification into disaster type and secondary damage. In this paper, we apply ICBMS through intelligent information technology and big data analysis to all processes of disaster safety management to minimize human, social, economic and environment damage from accidents or disasters, and prevention by control technology preparation by education and training expansion to remember by body, response by advanced technology of disaster response unmanned technology restoration by creation of local community environment ecosystem, investigation and analysis by intelligent information technology learn about disaster safety management 4.0. In addition, technical limitation and problems in the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution and the application of big data were analyzed and suggested alternatives and strategies to overcome.

Influencing Factors on Performance for Standard Precaution of Healthcare Workers of General Hospital for Infection Control (종합병원 의료종사자의 감염관리 표준주의 수행도 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study is analyze the factors affecting the standard precaution(SP) performance on the knowledge, awareness, attitude and safety environment for SP of healthcare workers of general hospitals. The research method was a descriptive research study. The subject were 262 of healthcare workers of general hospitals. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square test, ANOVA, Person's correlation coefficient and Multiple regression analysis using the SPSS program. As a result of the correlation analysis SP Performance was positively correlated with attitude (r=.18, p=.003), safety environment (r=.42, p<.001) and awareness (r=.63, p<.001). As a result of the stepwise multiple regression analysis on the factors influencing SP performance were SP awareness and safety environment. Therefore, in order to improved performance of SP, it's important to improve a awareness and safety environment of SP. Different and persistent infection management educational programs that consider the occupational characteristics and monitoring are required.

Analysis on the situation of inpatients with pressure ulcer by patient safety indicators (환자안전 지표에 의한 욕창발생 현황 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed situation and length of stay(LOS) variations of inpatients with pressure ulcer using patient safety indicators developed by the United States Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ) and proposed management of medical quality and development of policy. The dataset was taken from 1,373 database of the hospital discharge injury survey from 2005 to 2008. Analysis method was used frequency and chi-square test, ANOVA, multiple linear regression analysis. In result, distribution of inpatients with pressure ulcer by sex were 52.5%(male), 47.5%(female), respectively and aged $65{\geqq}years$ was the highest in age group. LOS of inpatients with nervous system principal disease was the longest. Independent variables which were statistically associated with LOS of inpatients with pressure ulcer were year, sex, insurance type, bed size, operation, principal diagnosis. Therefore, hospital should develop the standardized strategy and guidelines to manage pressure ulcer inpatients efficiently and apply it into the medical information system.

  • Patient safety culture for the general hospital to investigate the perception of radiological technologists, managing of the patient safety provides the Foundation for the safety activities as a basis to develop a program for providing. Patient safety culture for the general hospital to investigate the perception of Radiological technologists, the duration of the survey of the study on June 13, 2012 to June 20, and five general hospitals worked on Radiological technologists workers were material and analyzed the target of 198 (SPSS ver. 19.0). Patient safety activities within the Department, the factors affecting direct care, communication, medical malpractice, hospitals rated, safe for the patient safety culture and the reported accidents, dangerous and caused an accident, most feel that patient safety incident reporting system according to the results of evaluating medical accidents patient safety culture regarding recognition, work appeared in more than 25 years, even the most highly evaluated, the working period of 10 patient safety to 15 years the most highly. Therefore, General Hospital, Director of the patient safety culture improvement of radiation in order to have sufficient staffing, aggressive approach to patient safety issues, and safe working period of relapse prevention of accidents to the radiation as well as giving systematic consideration of mission medical accident reporting system will be active.
