Developing a Structural Equation Model of Drivers' Preference on Route Diagrams of Variable Message Sign (구조방정식 모형을 이용한 도형식 가변안내표지판의 운전자 선호도 평가 모형 개발)

  • VMS(Variable Message Sign) helps drivers to choose their path to destinations on roadways. Some types of VMS often provide traffic information with clearly visible and comprehensible graphical route diagrams. Currently many diagramed types of VMS are installed on urban arterial and highways. This type of VMS surely enhances drivers' ability to comprehend traffic route information while they are driving on the roadway. Nevertheless, some of them are presented with so much information and design elements and they sometimes lead to decline of drivers' comprehensible level for traffic information. Drivers would fail to decide their preferable route in this state of information overflow. The purpose of this paper is to develop a drivers preference model for effective design principle including size and height of displaying font, and the amount of information in the route diagram considering driving speed, sex and age of the driver. This model is developed using structural equation modeling techniques. This model considers driver's emotional factor and, human factor and design component of route diagram. To collect data, we built driving simulator which is able to replicate real driving condition. 72 people who participated in the simulation were selected considering gender and age. The developed model showed that the amount of information, and visibility are more influential factors to the drivers' preference of the route diagram on VMS than design elements such as the shape and the font of the diagram.

  • 디지털 시대가 도래하면서 지식 또는 정보의 신속하고 편리하며 효과적인 전달 수단을 강구하기 위한 기술이 빠른 속도로 발전하고 있다. 컴퓨터 기술과 네트워크 기술 등의 발전으로 사람의 업무 영역을 컴퓨터가 대신하는 분야는 크게 증가하고 있는데, 대표적인 것 중의 하나가 무인안내 시스템 (Information KIOSK System) 이다. 무인안내시스템은 사람을 대신해서 또는 사람이 할 수 없었던 정보의 전달을 멀티미디어를 이용하여 간단한 조작만으로 손쉽게 각종 정보를 제공하는 컴퓨터 시스템으로, 시간과 장소의 구애를 받지 않고 24시간 신속하고 정확한 정보 제공이 가능하며, 새로운 정보를 쉽고 빠르게 제공할 수 있고 운영 비용이 저렴하기 때문에 개발 초기에 시스템을 구축하는 비용이 많이 소요되고 아직 많은 사람들이 컴퓨터에 친숙하지 못함에도 활용하는 사례가 크게 확대되고 있다. 특히 인터넷의 발전으로 더욱 빠른 속도로 유인안내소를 대치하고 있다. 무인안내시스템 개발에 필요한 기술 분야와 관련된 많은 연구논문과 기술문서 등이 존재한다. 그러나 무인안내시스템을 성공적으로 개발하는 데에는 기술적인 면 이외에 성공적인 개발을 위해 고려해야 할 중요한 요소들이 많이 있지만, 공학적인 측면의 일반적인 내용을 언급한 문서들만이 존재하며 이와 관련된 현실적이고 체계적인 문서는 없는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 성공적인 무인안내시스템의 개발을 위하여 기술적인 측면 이외의 대규모의 무인안내시스템의 개발에 필요한 제반 사항을 살펴보았다.

Pre-service Elementary School Teachers' Perceptions on Instructional Design: Based on Lesson Plan Analysis (예비초등교사의 교수설계에 대한 인식: 수업지도안 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study intended to identify the differences of pre-service elementary school teachers' perceptions on instructional design between face-to-face and online instruction. Lesson plans for face-to-face and online instruction were analyzed by 84 participants who were seniors at C university of education. Results of content analysis indicate that 'Providing Learning Guidance' domain is the biggest domain in terms of the frequency gap between face-to-face and online instruction. Frequency differences by domains between face-to-face and online instruction were found to be significant as a result of Chi-square test. Frequency differences by instructional elements in the 'Providing Learning Guidance' domain between face-to-face and online instruction were found to be statistically significant as well. In conclusion, this study indicates the differences of pre-service elementary school teachers' perceptions on instructional design between face-to-face and online instruction, which implies the necessity for the development and implementation of professional development programs focusing on the perceptions on instructional design of online instruction for pre-service elementary school teachers.

굽힘 곡선을 이용한 공작기계 주축의 취약부 규명

  • 공작기계의 가공정밀도는 공구와 공작물간의 상대변위 크기로서 평가되는데, 이 상대변위는 가공중에 발생 하는 절삭력이 공구-척-주축-기계구조물-안내면-가공테이블-공작물로 이어지는 하중전달 폐곡선을 흐르면서 경로상의 정적, 동적 취약부의 주된 영향을 받아 생기거나 각 요소부품의 변형이 누적되어 생겨난다. 본 연구에서는 주축의 취약부를 규명하기 위하여 정적으로는 정적 처짐곡선을 이용하고, 동적으로는 진동모우드의 굽힘곡선을 이용하여 주축선단의 처짐에 가장 영향을 많이주는 부위를 파악하였다. 취약부의 개선방법으로는 주축지름을 변화시켜 주축선단 근처에서 굽힘이 집중되지 않도록 유도하였다. 그리고 구조개선의 효과를 확인 하기 위해서 기존 주축시스템과 개선 주축시스템의 정적, 동적 특성변화를 비교하였다.

Parallelism Measurement for Guide Rails of Precision Machine Tools (정밀 공작기계 안내면의 평행도 측정)

  • The guide-ways of precision machine tools are one of important element of machine tools. It has usually a pair of surfaces for constraint of one direction with bearing. In the case of precision machine tools, non-contact bearing such as hydrostatic bearing and aerostatic bearing is adopted usually. In this case, profiles of rails has effect on straightness and the clearance of bearing has effect on stiffness of guide way, which changes to higher if clearance changes to smaller. The clearance is varied along moving table according to relative distance of pair of rails. The relative distance of pair of rail can be divided by three properties. First and second properties are straightness of each pair of rail and bearing pad. And, third is parallelism about pair of rails and pairs of bearing pad. There are several methods for measuring straightness of each surface such as reversal method, sequential two point method, and way straightness. These straightness measuring methods are always acquiring deviation of profile from eliminating linear fitted inclined line and don't have the information of parallelism. Therefore, to get the small clearance for high stiffness, the straightness of rail and bearing pad and parallelism about pair of rails and pair of bearing pads are measured for correction such as regrinding, reassembling and lapping. In this research, new and easy method for measuring parallelism of pair of rails is suggested. Two displacement probe and sensor stage, which is carry on the displacement sensor, are needed. The simulation and experiment was accomplished about pair of horizontal guide way to confirm the measurement of parallelism. And, the third probe is added to measure the straightness of each rails by sequential two point method. From the estimation of combined these two methods, it is confirmed that the profiles of a pairs of rails can be measured.

A Methodology Development for Estimating the Retroreflectivity of Pavement Markings and Traffic Guide Signs Using Digital Images (디지털 이미지를 이용한 노면표시 및 교통안내표지의 재귀반사 성능 평가 방법론 개발)

  • This study investigates the methodology to evaluate the quantified performance of pavement markings and traffic guide signs using digital images. This methodology is significant to attempt to quantify their performance without large brightness photometer at the nighttime and bad weather. The retroreflective performance of pavement markings are evaluated through the contrast of gray levels of pavements and markings in collected digital images under the case of rain, dampness, and dryness. In addition, the appraisal of retroreflective performance of traffic guide signs are implemented through the comparison between interior illuminated and the existing retroreflective traffic guide signs using the contrast of luminance extracted from the value of RGB of backgrounds and legends in collected digital images according to geometric design, driving lanes, and the distance between the car and the sign. As a result, the retroreflective performance of pavement markings deteriorates about 3.5 times and 2 times under the case of rain and dampness respectively than dryness. Also, the performance of the existing traffic guide signs is significantly influenced by geometric design, driving lanes, and the distance, otherwise interior illuminated traffic guide signs. This methodology can be utilized to construct objective information of performance of traffic safety facilities to select appropriate position of expensive high reflective pavement markings and interior illuminated traffic guide signs considering diverse weather and geometric design.

Development Trends and Use Cases of Medical Service Robots: Focused on Logistics, Guidance, and Drug Processing Robots (의료서비스 로봇의 개발 동향 및 활용 사례: 물류, 안내, 약제처리 로봇을 중심으로)

  • Medical service robots are variously defined and classified by researchers and related government departments, but surgical robots and rehabilitation robots are commonly included in medical service robots, and except for these, the robots are classified as other medical service robots. In this study, domestic and foreign development trends and use cases were considered, focusing on logistics, guidance, and drug processing robots among other medical service robots. Logistics and guidance robots were developed quite a lot in Korea and completed a pilot project, or are being commercialized in hospitals, and exported. However, although the drug prcocessing robots was developed in Korea, the robot being use in the hospital was an imported. In order to expand and activate the robot market, systematic follow-up studies such as demand prediction studies are needed.
