The Effects of Smartphone Overdependence Communication Competence in Nursing Students - Focusing on Mediation Effect of Academic Stress (간호대학생의 스마트폰 과의존이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향 - 학업스트레스의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the mediating effect of academic stress on the relationship between smartphone overdependence and the communication competence of nursing students. The research subjects were nursing students in cities A and Y. The research period was from March 2 to March 9, 2023, and the number of subjects analyzed was 139. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 26.0, Process macro program the collected data. The results of the mediating effect of academic stress on the relationship between smartphone dependence and communication competence showed that academic stress (β=.226, p=.005) mediated the effect on the relationship between smartphone dependence and communication competence(Z=-3.131, p=.002). As a result, the combined explanatory power of the variables on nursing student's communication competence was 15.4%. In addition, in order to reduce nursing students' smartphone overdependence, it is necessary to educate them about smartphone use and develop self-control, provide interventions to cope with academic stress, and develop intervention programs to improve communication competence.

Effects of Communication Style with Parents Perceived by Female College Students on Smartphone Addiction and Depression (여대생이 지각한 부모와의 의사소통 유형이 스마트폰 중독과 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of parent-child communication style on smartphone addiction and depression among female college students. The subjects were 151 female students in three different universities located in S city. Data collection for Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory (PACI), Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale, and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D) were conducted from November 1 to December 8, 2017. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Smartphone addiction in college students was 35.08 (SD = 6.83), and when communication with the mother was absent and the problem recognized, smartphone addiction was higher (${\beta}=.27$, p = .028). Open communication with the father lowered smartphone addiction (${\beta}=-.27$, p = .030). Depression in female college students was 15.86 (SD = 10.45), and 45% experienced depression. Depression was higher when communication with the mother was higher (${\beta}=.29$, p = .022). Therefore, a customized communication program that focuses on parent-child communication as a strategy to reduce or prevent degree of addiction and depression of female college students will be helpful.

Study of the Influence of the Depressive mood of the Elderly : Focused on the mediating effect of Communication between families and self-esteem (노년기 우울감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 가족간 의사소통과 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examined the influence of communication between families and self-esteem on the depression mood of the elderly, and provides basic data for a depression care program. For those purposes, a questionnaire was developed based on the literature regarding the depression mood. To achieve the research aim, the surveys were conducted in Seoul, Gyenggi-do for 420 elderly people from April to May 2014. The results of the hypothesis testing were as follows. The degree of depression was increased significantly in the elderly with economic factors, factor in family relationships, health factors, and social factors. According to hierarchical regression analysis, a significant mediating effect was found with communication between families and self-esteem on the depression mood of the elderly. Therefore, the characteristics of the elderly individual communication between families and the increase in self-esteem, which can be specifically institutional, social and administrative unit and financial support should be considered.

The Effect of Communication Satisfaction on Hospital Employees' Perceived Organizational Effectiveness (종합병원 구성원들의 의사소통 만족도가 조직유효성 인식에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of hospital employees' communication satisfaction on their perceived organizational effectiveness. Four research hypothesis are established for the purpose of this study. The subject of this study were 473 employees who were working at 10 general hospitals in Korea. The survey was done with structured questionnaire from January 3 to February 8, 2013. The results of stepwise regression analysis show that hospital employees' communication satisfaction positively affected organizational effectiveness. Interaction effects between employees' communication satisfaction and work types had stronger effect on organizational growth than organizational stability. It can be pointed out as an important issue that communication satisfaction score of medical support occupation is the lowest level(3.11 points out of 5 points). If hospitals want an integration of organization, it is required to develop method or skill to increase communication satisfaction among employees.

Analyses of the Patterns of the Synchronous and Asynchronous Social Media Usage in College e-Learning Settings (대학 이러닝 환경에서 실시간과 비실시간 소셜미디어 활용유형 차이분석)

  • As information technology has been developed in a rapid way, a lot of users get to be familiar with social media. Accordingly, the possibility of social media for educational use has increased. From the view point of learning, social media help learners make communities of practice that can lead to collective intelligence. In this study, two different types of social media, synchronous and asynchronous, were compared in terms of usage patterns in the e-learning settings of college level. Content analysis has figured out four factors: learning content, tasks and assignments, emotional communications, and chatting. There found to be a statistical differences in the postings in all of the factors except tasks and assignments. In the qualitative interviews, the participants told various usage patterns of synchronous and asynchronous social media. In sum, the learners generally preferred synchronous social media. Rather, asynchronous social media were mainly used for deep thinking and summarizing. Last, suggestions were made to improve educational environments for the learners in the digital and social media age.

  • COVID-19 has brought major changes to school education. Although it was attempted to guarantee students' right to learn through romote learning, the limitations of remote learning compared to face-to-face classes were clear. Nevertheless, the method of remote learning is undoubtedly a learning method that needs to be continuously developed in terms of being able to consider separated time and space and enabling learners to learn individually and autonomously. Therefore, in this study, real-time romote learning cases were analyzed at the elementary school stage, and problems in real-time remote classes were discovered and improved through teacher interviews. The problems with real-time remote classes in elementary school unit classes examined through examples are: First, that the proportion of teacher activity is high due to the anxiety of the unfamiliar environment of remote classes, and second, even though it is a real-time interactive class, it It was impossible to provide feedback. As a solution to this, it is necessary to consider the basic class steps (introduction-deployment-organization) and the use of class tools to provide appropriate communication and feedback was suggested.

  • 최근 1인 미디어인 개인방송은 무선통신망과 스마트폰 등의 발달로 현재 많은 사람들이 이용하고 있는 인터넷 서비스 중 하나이다. 개인방송이 인기를 끌고 있는 가장 큰 이유는 방송을 진행하는 브로드캐스터와 시청자가 실시간으로 소통하며 양방향 서비스를 제공할 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 기존의 플랫폼에서는 단순히 시청자들의 채팅을 통해서만 양방향 소통을 진행한다는 한계점이 존재한다. 이에 본 논문은 채팅로그뿐만 아니라 시청자들의 사진, 카메라 롤, 영상, 음성의 링크를 채팅창에 띄우고 부가정보서비스 창을 구축하여 다양한 의견을 공유할 수 있게 되고 브로드캐스터 컨트롤 시스템을 이용하여 부가정보서비스를 제어할 수 있게 됨으로써 한층 더 흥미로운 방송을 운용할 수 있게 하는 프레임워크를 연구하였다.

The Effects of Digital Storytelling on Mathematical Communication Apprehension in 6th graders' Mathematics Instruction (초등학교 6학년 수학수업에 적용한 디지털 스토리텔링이 수학적 의사소통불안에 미치는 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how Storytelling in Mathematics Instruction effects students' mathematical communication apprehension. In order to do this, I selected two grade six classes with no significant difference on the Communication Apprehension(CA) test. I applied normal story telling and digital story telling to each of the classes for ten weeks then analyzed the effects through the post CA test. As a result, for Normal Storytelling Class (NSC), there was no meaningful difference in the ex ante and ex post CA test results. However, for Digital Storytelling Class (DSC), there was a meaningful difference in regards to the communication apprehension subgroup. Also, between the two NSC and DSC groups' post CA results, there was a meaningful difference in mathematics lesson and subgroup factors. Consequently, these results suggest the appliance of Digital Storytelling helps lower CA in $6^{th}$ graders participation in math class and subgroup.

  • 최근 스마트폰의 사용이 보편화 되고 주요 소비층이 밀레니엄 세대가 됨에 따라 개인 방송이 큰 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 개인 방송 서비스 중 최근 큰 인기를 끌고 있으며 많은 사용자를 확보하고 있는 것이 게임 방송 분야이다. 게임 방송을 진행하는 브로드캐스터는 스트리밍 영상과 채팅을 통해 시청자와 실시간으로 소통하며 방송을 진행한다. 하지만 시청자는 브로드캐스터의 목소리와 화면에만 의존할 뿐 다른 추가적인 정보 서비스를 제공받기에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 논문은 OBS를 이용한 HTML5 기반, JQuery 웹소켓 프로토콜을 통해 개인 방송 플랫폼을 제작하였고 Socket.IO를 사용하여 실시간 채팅 서비스를 추가하였다. 방송을 송출하는 방송 진행자가 입력하는 키 값을 스트리밍 영상에 오버레이할 수 있게 됨으로써 시청자에게 게임 진행 정보를 전달할 수 있고 시청자는 이를 통해 방송 진행자의 게임 스킬을 습득할 수 있으며 몰입감을 높일 수 있는 서비스를 개발하였다.

  • SNS의 등장 이후 사진은 가장 강력한 의사소통 수단이다. 최근 사진 촬영을 보조하기 위한 도구들이 큰 인기를 얻고 있다. 그러나 기존의 도구들은 공간적 제약이 있다. 대안으로 원격 제어 기능을 탑재한 디지털카메라 역시 1:1 연결만 지원하고 모니터링이 불가능하여, 다수 카메라 제어 및 모니터링을 원하는 산업계의 요구사항을 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 제안하는 시스템은 1:1 연결을 통해 실시간으로 다중 원격 촬영을 제공하며, 다중 프리뷰 기능을 지원한다. 또한, 특정 장치에 국한되지 않아 다양성을 확보하고, 사용자들이 다양한 구도로 사진을 연출할 수 있어 편의성을 도모하였다.
