  • Korean society has experienced so-called 'societal crisis' in many aspects of society for a couple of decades and those crises include both natural disasters and tragic catastrophes. Given that, this study purports to investigate, first of all, what is the definition of crisis in general and societal crisis in specific. Next question is what are the major types of societal crises and what are the indicators for those crises. As a result, many areas of societal crisis and corresponding indicators in each area will be introduced. Finally, this study tries to establish a new definition of societal crises based upon a more sociological, more specifically a more phenomenological point of view. For these research purpose, in-depth review for previous research on the subject will be done including psychological and sociological materials. Final outcome of this study will be a new and experimental definition of societal crisis, which will provide the principle base for actual numeric indicators of societal crisis in both macro and micro level.

  • Park golf is establishing itself as a daily sport that the silver generation can enjoy physically and cost-free. Accordingly, we have examined the impact of park golf participants' passionate participation behavior on sports immersion and sports performance. The subjects were 243 park golf participants, and SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used for data processing. In addition, frequency analysis, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis were conducted. Path analysis was performed using SEM, and mediating effects were analyzed using bootstrapping. First, regarding the relationship between passionate behavior and sports immersion, harmonious passion did not affect sports immersion, and obsessive passion had a positive effect. Second, passion had a positive effect on sports performance. Third, sports immersion had a positive effect on sports performance. Fourth, sports commitment played a partial mediating role in the relationship between passion and sports performance. Therefore, if the environment of the park golf course is improved so that passion does not decrease, exercise immersion and exercise performance will improve.

  • This study purports to examine the potential effects of welfare attitudes of Korean people upon their political orientation. The 17th Korea Welfare Panel Data(KWPD) in 2022 are used for this purpose. Independent variable include sex, age, education, interest in politics, and employment status. Discriminant analysis show several results. First and foremost, pre-established discriminant function works well for classification of respondents' liberal vs conservative stance. Secondly, except gender and dummy variable for temporary employed, all independent variables contribute significantly for the classification at a given significance level. . Finally, welfare attitudes of respondents', measured by universalism vs selectivism and the attitudes upon increasing tax for welfare expenditures are found to be significant and relatively big impacts upon dependent variable, compard to other variables in the model. The nature of causal relationship between welfare attitudes and political orientation remains for further study.

  • The objectives of this study were to explore food-related lifestyle segments of the older consumers, to identify its socio-demographic characteristics, and to investigate the differences in variables regarding health beliefs. A survey was conducted of adults 55 years of age and older living in Seoul, South Korea from March 28 to April 10, 2007. Out of the 500 distributed questionnaires, 361 were retained for final analysis: a response rate of 72.2%. As a result of cluster analysis, five consumer segments were identified; health-managing group, diet-unconcerned group, convenience-oriented group, taste-oriented group, unpracticed group. Significant differences were found among the five segments in terms of socio-demographic characteristics and variables regarding health beliefs (i.e., perceived self-efficacy, perceived barriers, perceived benefits). In the health-managing group and taste-oriented group, mean scores of perceived self-efficacy (p<0.001) and perceived benefits (p<0.001) were significantly higher than other groups. However, in the diet-unconcerned group and convenience-oriented group, the mean scores of perceived barriers (p<0.01) were significantly high. This study shows that foodservice operators targeting the older consumers should consider characteristics of each segment to develop a customized program.

  • Three fully dehydrated partially $Ag^+$-exchanged zeolite A(Ag_4Na_8-A, Ag_6Na_6-A, and Ag_8Na_4-A) were treated at $250^{\circ}C$ with 0.1 torr Rb vapor at 4 h. Their structures were determined by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction methods in the cubic space group $Pm{\bar3}m$ (a = 12.264(4) $\AA$, a = 12.269(1) $\AA$, and a= 12.332(3) $\AA$, respectively) at $22(1)^{\circ}C$, and were refined to the final error indices, R(weighed), of 0.056 with 131 reflections, 0.068 with 108 reflections, and 0.070 with 94 reflections, respectively, for which I > $3\sigma(I).$ In these structures, Rb species are found at three different crystallographic sites; three $Rb^+$ ions per unit cell are located at 8-ring centers, ca. 6.0∼6.8 $Rb^+$ ions are found opposite 6-rings on threefold axes in the large cavity, and ca. 2.5 $Rb^+$ ions are found on three fold axes in the sodalite unit. Also, Ag species are found at two different crystallographic sites; ca. 0.6∼1.0 $Ag^+$ ion lies opposite 4-rings and about 1.8∼4.2 Ag atoms are located near the center of the large cavity. In these structures, the numbers of Ag atoms per unit cell are 1.8, 3.0, and 4.2, respectively, and these are likely to form hexasilver clusters at the centers of the large cavities. The $Rb^+$ ions, by blocking 8-rings, may have prevented silver atoms from migrating out of the structure. Each hexasilver cluster is stabilized by coordination to 6-ring, 8-ring $Rb^+$ ions, and also by coordination to a 4-ring $Ag^+$ ion.
