  • Among indoor positioning system techniques using wireless APs, fingerprint techniques collect Mac information and reception strength of APs before performing positioning, build a radio map, and compare it with AP information collected during positioning. However, the existing Radio Map construction method has a problem in that signal interference occurs due to collisions of numerous APs depending on the indoor environment, and the signal strength search result is not always constant. Therefore, this paper compares the existing fixed radio map construction method and the variable radio map construction technique that actively analyzes and constructs the measurement area itself according to signal strength.

  • Gbps급의 대용량 데이터를 무선으로 전송하기 위해 60 GHz대역의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 60 GHz 대역은 공기 중에서 약 16 dB/km의 손실 특성을 가지므로 10미터 이내의 단거리 무선 대용량 데이터 전송용에 적합하다. 따라서 Kiosk 및 이동 단말기 간 대용량 무선 데이터 통신을 위한 저전력 CMOS chip 기술 및 실내용 고화질 비디오 전송을 위한 억세스 포인트와 HDTV에 장착되기 위한 단일 집적 모듈에 관한 연구가 크게 대두되고 있다. 본 원고에서는 저전력 소모 V-band 신호 발생기를 비롯한 CMOS SoC에 대한 세계적인 추세와 동향을 살펴보고, LTCC를 이용한 단일 집적 송수신 모듈에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

  • 무선센서네트워크는 컴퓨텅 기술능력과 무선 통신 능력을 지닌 센서 노드들을 이용하여 자율적으로 네트워크를 형성하고 상호간에 정보를 전달한다. 최근 무선센서네트워크 기술이 유비쿼터스 사회의 핵심 기술로 부각되면서 넓은 범위의 지역에서 센싱된 데이터를 활용하는 부분에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 센서네트워크에서 확장성을 고려하기 위하여 위치기반의 라우팅 기법이 사용된다. 실제위치를 이용한 방법은 GPS를 사용하여 노드의 위치를 파악한다. 그러나 이 방법은 센서노드의 프로세서 및 메모리의 용량을 초과하고, 실내에서 사용할 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가상좌표(Virtual coordinates) 개념을 이용하여 특정 비콘노드로 부터의 홉수를 계산하여 센서노드의 위치를 계산하고, Greedy 방식의 라우팅을 통하여 실제 위치를 이용한 방법과 비교한다.

Searching and Autoalignment Method for Indoor Free-space Optical Communication (실내용 자유 공간 광 통신을 위한 수신단의 위치 탐색 및 자동 링크 정렬 방법)

  • We propose and demonstrate a searching and autoalignment method for indoor optical wireless communication, using a cost-effective retroreflective sheet and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) mirror. We use an extremum-seeking method for a single axis and beam steering with a MEMS mirror to maintain a line of sight (LOS) with the optical link. This autoalignment method shows a receiver sensitivity of -31.87 dBm for a bit rate of 2.5 Gb/s over a 7 m communication link.

  • Roadside trees that are managed by the local government play important roles to enhance the city lifestyle in many ways. However, because of insufficient human resources that monitor fields and regulations, most roadside trees were left unprotected and lacked the professional management. Also, due to the lack of financial support, pesticides or treatments have rarely been done in a proper time. To solve this existing matter, we have proposed concrete methods that include a latest communication technology, and developed an on-site management system and a web-monitoring system for roadside trees. Our successful research includes efficient approaches to identify an individual tree and integration of both field works and internal work processes with wireless communications and web displays to monitor the roadside trees.

Medium to Long Range Wireless Video Transmission Scheme in 5.8GHz Band (5.8GHz 대역에서의 중장거리 영상 전송 무선 방식)

  • In this paper, we propose a wireless video transmission system, providing medium and long communication distance in the 5.8GHz band to decrease the loss of video data. Beamforming with multiple antennas in a radio environment to enable more than 10km communication distance and an image transmission method that combines the retransmission to MCS(modulation and coding scheme) are applied. By applying the proposed method in the indoor environment of 80dB attenuation using the payload size of 1000 bytes, the packet loss rate of at least 0.92% is achieved through the FPING with the time-out of 10ms. The transmission distance of 21.2Km is achieved with the transmission rate of 13Mbps in the outdoor environment.

  • In recent year, along with the rapid development of LED technology, many applications using LEDs with Visible Light Communication(VLC) have been researched. Since it is easy to provide LOS communication environment along with cheap deployment cost, the indoor positioning system based on VLC has been actively studied. In this paper, we propose an accurate indoor positioning algorithm using a stereo image sensor and white-light LEDs with the visible light communication. Indoor white-light LEDs are located at the ceiling of a room and broadcast their position information by VLC technology. Mobile receiver with stereo image sensor receives LED position information by VLC and estimates its position and angle information. Simulation results are given to show the efficiency of proposed indoor positioning algorithm.

  • A variety of studies for indoor positioning are now being in progress due to the limit of GPS that becomes obsolete in the room. However, most of them are based on private wireless networks and the situation is difficult to commercialize them since they are expensive in terms of installation and maintenance costs, non-real-time, and not accurate. This paper applies the mark recognition algorithm used in existing augmented reality applications to the indoor vehicle positioning application. It installs floor marks on the ground, performs the perspective transformation on it and decodes the internal data of the mark and, as a result, it obtains an absolute coordinate. Through the geometric analysis, it obtains current position (relative coordinates) of a vehicle away from the mark and the heading direction of the vehicle. The experiment results show that when installing the marks every 5 meter, an error under about 30 cm occurred. In addition, it is also shown that the mark recognition rate is 43.2% of 20 frames per second at the vehicle speed of 20km/h. Thus, it is thought that this idea is commercially valuable.

  • Wireless sensor network is configured to be able to collect information collected from the various sensors, real-world environment wireless network. In this paper, the information collected from the wireless sensor networks in the real world using AR (Augmented Reality) data by projecting, in a variety of ways, the information collected from the wireless sensor network is utilized, which more intuitive is intended to provide to users. And Using the short-range wireless communication by the Bluetooth communication method applied to control the LED light was configured to wirelessly control the wireless circuits. In this paper, users can easily download and easy to wirelessly control the LED lighting control circuit to design an Android application from Android-based smartphone so that you can control with your smartphone to have anyone to control the LED lighting control circuit wirelessly. If the LED lights radio control circuit is configured with the Cortex M3 in this paper is applicable to both indoor and outdoor and eco-friendly technology, is using LED driver to enhance the efficiency of the LED becomes stable voltage supply is made, the brightness of LED lighting control.
