  • This paper describes an 8b 52 MHz CMOS subranging analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) applications. The proposed ADC based on the improved time-interleaved architecture removes the holding time which is typically observed in the conventional double-channel subranging ADCs to increase throughput rate. Moreover, the ADC employs the interpolation technique in the back-end subranging ADCs far residue signal processing to minimize die area and power consumption. The fabricated and measured prototype ADC in a 0.8 um n-well double-poly double-metal CMOS process typically shows a 52 MHz sampling rate at a 5 V supply voltage with 230 mW, and a 40 MHz sampling rate at a 3 V power supply with 60 mW power consumption.

  • In this paper, the circular polarized horn antenna composed of circular polarizer and impedance transformer is designed, and fabricated. For the circular polarizer, two types of the polarizer are designed and the electrical performance of them is compared; rectangular waveguide polarizer with $45^{\circ}$-inclined dielectric slab and oval shaped one. Straight type mode converter has a stepped impedance structure and plays a role of converting waveguide TE mode into coaxial TEM mode, and the proposed antenna is designed to directly connect with active components using the feed-through in the input port of the mode converter. Fabricated antenna has the wideband performance, VSWR<1.5 and Axial ratio < 1.0dB, ranging from 30.085 to 30.885 GHz, and the antenna gain is 6.7~7.0 dBi.

  • In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, the principle of digital to radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.

  • Most watermarking techniques insert watermarks into transform coefficients in the frequency domain because we can consider robust or imperceptible frequency bands against malicious attacks to remove them. However, parameterization of 3-D data is not easy because of irregular attribution of connectivity information, while 1-I) or 2-D data is regular. In this paper we propose a new watermarking scheme for 3-D polygonal mesh models in the DCT domain. After we generate triangle strips by traversing the 3-D model and transform its vertex coordinates into the DCT domain, watermark signals are inserted into mid-frequency bands of AC coefficients for robustness and imperceptibility. We demonstrate that our scheme is robust against additive random noise, the affine transformation, and geometry compression by the MPEG-4 SNHC standard.

  • Matched field processing technique is performed by considering complex underwater environments. Specially, the performance of minimum variance processor is greatly degraded by eigenvalue problem. In this paper, we propose the minimum variance matched field processor using shaping matrix. This shaping matrix makes that the input covariance matrix is invertible and enhances the desired acoustic source component. It was proved effectively range/depth localization of the proposed method with simulated data and vertical array data collected by NATO SACLANT Center north of the island of Elba off the Italian west coast.

  • Power converters are widely used in the applications of servo drives of ac and dc motors and power supplies. For the control of the converters carious control algorithms have been proposed and realized by gating signal generation. Software control shemes are being applied to implement the control algorithms, but analog circuits are still used for the gating signal generation because it requires very fast and precise timing. In this paper the gating signal generation with DSP software are proposed for the three phase to three phase PWM converter. Design procedures and software flowcharts are presented and some experimental waveforms are also presented to verify the proposed algorithms.

  • 본 논문은 시료의 양을 최소화하고 혈중 요소 및 혈당 농도에 대한 정확한 측정을 위하여 최근에 개발된 전기화학형 마이크로 전극형 센서의 간략한 소개 및 전기적인 특성에 관하여 요약하는 것에서 출발하여 센서로부터 전기신호를 발생시키는 signal conditioning 회로의 설계, microprocessor를 이용한 digital 값으로의 변환 및 data 취득, 취득한 data를 측정된 혈당량 및 요소량으로의 변환 저장 display까지의 휴대용 계측기의 prototype 개발에 관하여 기술한다. 이 계측기는 미량의 혈액채취 한번으로 농도를 측정하는 측정모드와, 측정된 data를 찾아보기 위한 검색모드로 작동시킬 수 있다. Microprocessor의 기능을 최대한 사용하여 측정기의 크기를 소형화하였으며 LCD(Liquid crystal display)틀 채택하는 등 저전력 회로로 구현하였다.

  • 본 연구는 무전극 형광램프의 램프 이상 유무를 검출하여 램프에 이상이 발생한 경우 이를 검출하여 전자식 안정기 회로를 보호하는 방법을 제안하고 실험을 통해 검증한다. 제안된 보호회로는 램프 양단에 걸리는 전압을 검출하여 디지털 회로에서 이용할 수 있는 신호로 변환해주는 아날로그 회로부와 이 신호를 이용해 안정기 회로의 인버터 부에 공급되는 PWM 신호를 제거해 주는 디지털 회로부로 구성된다. 제안된 알고리즘은 개발 비교기 IC 소자와 EPLD를 이용해 간단한 회로로 제작되었으며, 차후 집적화에도 유리할 것으로 판단된다.

Development of 2.5 Gbps Multi-Channel Tunable Wavelength Converter Based on Cross Gain Modulation in Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (반도체 광증폭기의 상호 이득 변조를 이용한 2.5 Gbps 다채널 가변형 파장변환기)

  • A new structure of tunable wavelength converter based on XCM in SOA was tried and analyzed. This converter used single SOA and had very simple structure. In this paper, results were experimentally obtained and demonstrated. Pump signal was generated with NRZ $(PRBS\;2^{31}-1)$ and data rate 2.5 Gbps. WDM multi conveted signals showed more than 8.3 dB extinction ratio. For BER performance, all these converted signals had within 5.0 dB power penalty compared with the pump signal. With these results, we showed that this converter was suitable for 2.5 Gbps WDM multi-channel wavelength converting.
