A total of 1585 middle-aged obesity men and women participated in this study. The subjects were divided to MHO(n=840) and MUO(n=745) by metabolic syndrome markers(National Cholesterol Education Program-Adult Treatment Panel III). We analyzed measurement data using t-test. As results, physical activity and exercise participant between group had not significant difference in men subjects. But, in women subjects, total physical activity volume and muscle strength exercise participant between group had a significant difference. In conclusion, we suggest that physical activity and exercise participant are important factors affecting health status in the same level of obesity women.

  • This study aimed to examine the prevalence rate of metabolic syndrome according to milk and dairy products intake and physical activity in Korean adults. After adjusting the age and sex, which are confounding factors that may affect the disease were analyzed by logistic analysis to confirm their association with metabolic syndrome. The subjects included 444 males and 807 females, aged 19 to 64 years, from the data of 'The Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey 2016-2017'. Milk and dairy product intake and physical activity were significantly associated with metabolic syndrome (OR 1.85, 95% CI 1.13 - 3.15), and low HDL-cholesterol (OR 1.52, 95% CI: 1.07 - 2.18). The results of this study show that dairy intake and physical activity tend to prevent metabolic syndrome.

Data were collected from 277 nursing students from April 16 to May 4, 2018. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Life stress, body image, happiness, and health promoting behaviors according to the general characteristics commonly showed significant differences in major satisfaction and school satisfaction. Health promoting behaviors showed positive correlations with body image and happiness, but a negative correlation with life stress. Happiness, body image, life stress, gender, and major satisfaction, which accounted for 46% of the variance, were significant predictors influencing health promoting behaviors in nursing students. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a variety of programs to lower life stress and increase body image and happiness in order to improve health promoting behaviors of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between the frequency of consumption of sports drinks and energy drinks and aerobic physical activity in the 6-29 year old group in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The sociodemographic characteristics, aerobic physical activity, and beverage intake of the subjects were calculated using composite sample descriptive statistics, and the mean difference between groups was analyzed by cross-tabulation, χ2-test, and binary logistic regression analysis. High-intensity aerobic activity was analyzed as an increase in the intake frequency of sports drinks(ionic drinks, vitamin drinks) and energy drinks(high-caffeine drinks) (p<0.05). Compared to moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity, high-intensity aerobic physical activity was analyzed as a factor influencing the increase in beverage intake frequency. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between physical activity and beverage consumption, which is a critical issue for promoting health both now and in the future, and to developed an intervention program based on the findings. Through this study, we aimed to gather basic data that can help people live healthy lives, and raise both individual and societal awareness of the importance of making better beverage choices.
