  • Many domestic manufacturers make reflectors for Lamps of BLU(back light units). However, color change and parting occur as a result of diverse usage environment. Therefore, many of the manufacturers are reluctant in R&D investment of reflectors for Lamps of BLU. Hence, in this article reliability assessment criteria for reflector for lamp of BLU are established in terms of performance test, environment test and life test.

  • This is concerned with the structural reliability analysis(RA) considering uncertainties in material properties. This method is performed by the stochastic process using Kriging with calculating the distribution of probability and equation of limit state for saving calculated and analyzed time. The proposed methodology is applied to the rocket motor case and compared with monte-calro simulation in efficiency and accuracy of this process.

  • The impact of the system reliability analysis to structural design is described in this paper and various methods for system reliability analysis developed up to the present are reviewed and discussed from the view point of their efficiency. The paper also includes the detailed formulation procedure of the, so called, extended incremental load method has applied to relatively simple structure to show its usefulness.

  • This paper deals with OO aircraft mission reliability prediction. To demonstrate user-required mission reliability, it is calculated with use general formulae which are used in reliability engineering. The mission reliability of OO aircraft is calculated in considering conversion factor (CF) on the each subsystems' MTBF. The prediction results are explained only the state at present time. Because these data are not real data in operational environments. Therefore, in the case of OO aircraft, it has to be needed collecting the real and renewal data which are operational and empirical. After that, continuing the data upgrading, it is easily closed to the more exact reliability value.

  • Reliability growth is defined as the positive improvement in a reliability parameter over a period of time due to implementation of corrective actions to system design, operation or maintenance procedures, or the associated manufacturing process. In recent, the importance of reliability growth management has emerged in the military authority and industries. For effective application of reliability growth models, it is necessary to understand their characteristics and differences. This paper presents the concepts of reliability growth management and compares the features of reliability tracking and projection models centered on MIL-HDBK-189C for selecting the appropriate model for an one-shot system under development.

  • Since conventional optimization that is classified as a deterministic method does not consider the uncertainty involved in a modeling or manufacturing process, an optimum design is often determined to be on the boundaries of the feasible region of constraints. Reliability-based design optimization is a method for obtaining a solution by minimizing the objective function while satisfying the reliability constraints. This method includes an optimization process and a reliability analysis that facilitates the quantization of the uncertainties related to design variables. Moment-based reliability analysis is a method for calculating the reliability of a system on the basis of statistical moments. In general, on the basis of these statistical moments, the Pearson system estimates seven types of distributions and determines the reliability of the system. However, it is technically difficult to practically consider the Pearson Type IV distribution. In this study, we propose an enhanced Pearson Type IV distribution based on a kriging model and validate the accuracy of the enhanced Pearson Type IV distribution by comparing it with a Monte Carlo simulation. Finally, reliability-based design optimization is performed for a system with type IV distribution by using the proposed method.
